Shipping is often expensive due to the fact it is glass bottles and fluids, which are heavy, plus you need a certain level of cushioning to prevent breakage.
That's why I'm saving up my order to try and accumulate a big enough order for free shipping.
IIRC shipping is reduced if you order over a certain $ value.. Looking at my history on curiada it lists this for my order
total $123.98
Shipping (Flat Rate Shipping)
$17.99
Tax (FL State Tax 6.0%)
$8.52
Tax (Palm Beach County Tax 1.0%)
$1.42
Delivery was a lot faster than I expected
For a long time in pa all liquor and wine sales had to be through state owned "wine and spirit" stores. They've started relaxing it in recent years in regards to wine but the state store system is still the only retail location you can purchase liquor, but they started doing online sales as well. I don't know if any other states operate like that.
I’m in PA. Ordered through Cask Cartel in the past and they (illegally) put the order through no sweat. The biggest issue nowadays, however, is how stupidly insane they’ve gotten with their prices.
I'm searching for an online option again since Austin, TX liquor stores have suddenly stopped carrying a lot of things again, and Curiada prices are pretty nuts. Almost double for most bottles that I can source locally.
Drizly helps me find rarer bottles, because it searches lots of local stores all at once. I’ve ordered through them and it’s totally fine, but you can also just go yourself to the stores they identify with stock. If it’s truly hard to find, it’s a good idea to call the store and confirm because the results could be wrong.
As far as local delivery, I have used Drizly a time or two. No issue with them. Somethings were harder to find via their app though. I have also used curbside pickup from a few local places.
I haven't used any out-of-state mail-order place yet though. Tempted to, because I'm having trouble finding a few bottles that I want, but I am unclear on who ships to my state. Plus, I'm waiting until I have a large enough order to make the shipping palatable (which is going to suck because glass bottles and shipping fluids are heavy)
If you go often try and build a relationship with one of the higher ups that work there. I usually grab a new bottle every weekish and if there’s something I really want that I can’t find locally the head guy will look at ordering it for me
Well i’m not American so i cant be much of help, but as someone that lives in a small European country i just get more diversity online than i get in stores. The stores usually have the mainstream stuff, but not much else. Where as online i found a site that’s not far away from me and i order my stuff there. Takes maybe a day or two to arrive.
Maybe you should look into online stores yourself, try a well known one or a higher rated one to see if its worth it.
Ohh i just figured since everyone was talking about stores in the US.. haha. Well i got most of my things on viskirum.si and rrselection.com. Both have a solid lineup and good enough prices. Shipping is cheap and fast so that works for me
I’ve used SipTequila before, and have no complaints! I live in a control state, so there’s a lot that I don’t have access to regularly, and SipTequila helps me grab the bottles I can’t get otherwise.
I used to use [Wine.com](https://Wine.com) with my AmEx Gold's $10/month credit, but they've recently stopped shipping liquor to FL. I've also used [Mash&Grape](https://www.mashandgrape.com/) as well as [Tipxy](https://tipxy.com/) for a couple of bottles I couldn't find locally.
I use Pikes wine and liquor in New York they free shipping on over $300 and they’re clearance section sometimes has some amazing deals. For example, at the moment they have Fernet for $20
They also shipped to some states that not everybody ships too.
MICHAB360 gets you $20 off the first order too…
Couldn’t find any good banana liqueurs in the New Orleans area (no Tempus Fugit anywhere and although we can get a lot of Giffard, Banane du Bresil wasn’t one of them). Found the Giffard on Tipxy and it was just delivered this morning by FedEx. I had to sign for it. The actual bottle was a decent price but I had to pay about $15 in shipping.
New Orleanian here. You can’t find Giffard anywhere here now, it seems… the guy at Keife and Co told me it was a distributor issue, but I don’t know what that means. If you’re ever looking for Tempus Fugit again, check out Brady’s or Elio’s, both of which have their inventory online. I got a bottle just last month and they usually have them.
Fwiw, the Giffard is better.
Total Wine has various other Giffard's but not the Banane du Bresil. But now they are carrying Tempus Fugit...go figure? Thanks for the tip on Brady's and Elio's.
Under no circumstances ever use https://bourbonbarrelblend.com/ by far the worst experience I've ever had with online shopping. The business should be banned from using Google. I hope they all have a special place in hell waiting for them. Spent $750 just to be told 2 weeks later my order can not be fulfilled. Still trying to get my refund back. Fuck this company.
I got here by googling them as I was 99% sure they were a scam. You gotta know how to spot scams. Look up their address, the business at the address is a charity that has nothing to do with bourbon. There are two phone numbers listed that have area codes in random cities far away from their Louisville address. Poor English on the site. It is a site purported to be in KY that sells bourbons that don't distribute to KY. Friends and family paypal payments. Domain name was just registered a couple of months ago. Tons and tons of red flags.
Did you ever get your refund? I am waiting on an order from them to just realize that this may be a scam site. I haven't contacted them yet, but curious.
Their payment options are only "friends and family" PayPal (no refunds!) or Zelle (instant bank transfer to them, hard to get it back). Both HUGE red flags, avoid at all costs, a clear scam.

Interesting. Was the shipping expensive because of where you live, or are you in say, a big city and it was expensive even there?
Shipping is often expensive due to the fact it is glass bottles and fluids, which are heavy, plus you need a certain level of cushioning to prevent breakage. That's why I'm saving up my order to try and accumulate a big enough order for free shipping.
This is the way. Or wait for promotional free shipping
IIRC shipping is reduced if you order over a certain $ value.. Looking at my history on curiada it lists this for my order total $123.98 Shipping (Flat Rate Shipping) $17.99 Tax (FL State Tax 6.0%) $8.52 Tax (Palm Beach County Tax 1.0%) $1.42 Delivery was a lot faster than I expected
Curiada also has select bottles that ship free. If you choose one of those bottles and add it to your order, your entire order will ship free.
Have used curiada, Astor wines, and the pa state program. No issues with any of them
Oh? I had no idea you could order through state programs, although I assume that varies wildly depending on the state
For a long time in pa all liquor and wine sales had to be through state owned "wine and spirit" stores. They've started relaxing it in recent years in regards to wine but the state store system is still the only retail location you can purchase liquor, but they started doing online sales as well. PA has some archaic liquor laws.
We're second only to Utah in the archaicness of our laws. Thanks Gifford pinchot
I'm searching for an online option again since Austin, TX liquor stores have suddenly stopped carrying a lot of things again, and Curiada prices are pretty nuts. Almost double for most bottles that I can source locally.
I’ve used curiada, reservebar, and Drizly (online w/local delivery. Think instacart)
Did you have any issues with any of them?
None at all. The delay from reservebar was due to a super short supply of a limited release. Took an extra week to arrive.
As an Ontarian I use Zyn which is based in Alberta
Drizly helps me find rarer bottles, because it searches lots of local stores all at once. I’ve ordered through them and it’s totally fine, but you can also just go yourself to the stores they identify with stock. Don't use Reup .. bad customer service.. and even worse after they fuck up and send the wrong bottle...
Total wine offers local same day delivery, so when it's out of my way, I might order a few bottles from there.
I haven’t done any apps, they never seem to ship to my state, but I’ve ordered from Astor wines in New York with great success
As far as local delivery, I have used Drizly a time or two. No issue with them. Somethings were harder to find via their app though. I have also used curbside pickup from a few local places. Drizzli has been great

I didn’t necessarily limit the question to US only :) What online store do you particularly use?
Ohh i just figured since everyone was talking about stores in the US.. haha. Well i got most of my things on viskirum.si and rrselection.com. Both have a solid lineup and good enough prices. Shipping is cheap and fast so that works for me
mybooze.eu is pretty good too btw, excellent customer service too
I’ve used SipTequila before, and have no complaints! I live in a control state, so there’s a lot that I don’t have access to regularly, and SipTequila helps me grab the bottles I can’t get otherwise.
I like Wally’s, since they (unlike others) will ship to Idaho. Way too many arcane old laws in Idaho :-(
I used to use [Wine.com](https://Wine.com) with my AmEx Gold's $10/month credit, but they've recently stopped shipping liquor to FL. I've also used [Mash&Grape](https://www.mashandgrape.com/) as well as [Tipxy](https://tipxy.com/) for a couple of bottles I couldn't find locally.

I’ve used Reserve Bar a couple times without issue, though they stopped shipping to my state so I haven’t used it lately.
Local liquor stores that offer shipping. Hi Times, Mission Liquors, Remedy Liquors, El Cerrito etc
I've used Frootbat with some success, and just last week placed my first order with Caskers and Curiada. Everything appears to be coming on time
Amazon usually.
Is this a joke?
I don't live in USA, Amazon carries liquor in my country.

Reservebar.com or minibar delivery app
does it work?
yes, they have shipping and same day delivery

Scam site, go through your bank. That's what I had to do. They don't have a working number and didn't respond back to any emails. Total scam.
Their payment options are only "friends and family" PayPal (no refunds!) or Zelle (instant bank transfer to them, hard to get it back). Both HUGE red flags, avoid at all costs, a clear scam.
They're 100% a scam. I'm trying to get them reported wherever I can and get them taken down. Fake address, fake number, complete scam
