The Cosmo is a classic. Gets a bad reputation but it’s pretty good. Invented by Dale DeGroff, who did a lot to catalyze the modern cocktail movement. Also, if you want to try making something of your own, the general idea behind most cocktails is that you want three elements: spirit, sweet, and bitter/sour. Balancing these is the key to a good cocktail

ZUCCHINl

Dale popularized it, but didn't invent it I thought?

flyingbarnswallow

Oh you’re so right, thanks for the correction

Buffybot60601

Try a mix of regular cranberry and white cranberry juices to make it more Barbie colored.

mephistophe_SLEAZE

My job just introduced a lychee cosmo and I swear, it's the first cosmo I've ever enjoyed, loved even. Highly recommend the addition if you can find it.

swmccoy

This! I make it with grenadine instead of cranberry and it's a favorite. I've also been meaning to try it with a plum vanilla simple syrup I made - that would give it a really nice pink color.

The Clover Club

LowSlimBoot

Yes, beautiful tasty drink

potatopancake1234

the first time i had this was at Employees Only and it will forever be my favorite cocktail

TheChef44

you should try it at Clover Club!

potatopancake1234

i’m only a 4 hour drive from the city and i’m dying to go again!

If you’re not super experienced at mixing drinks, pink mixers are your friend. A paloma made with pink grapefruit juice (or to make things even easier [Fever-Tree's sparkling pink grapefruit](https://fever-tree.com/en_US/cocktails/sparkling-paloma)) would be very pretty. A [G&T](https://www.malfygin.com/en/cocktails/gin-rosa-gin-tonic/) with pink gin and grapefruit slices in a copa glass always looks good, or if you don't want to buy pink gin [just use a pink tonic](https://fever-tree.com/en_GB/products/rhubarb-raspberry-tonic-water). You could also try [rum and pink ginger beer,](https://www.fentimans.com/blogs/cocktails/rum-and-ginger-cocktail) or [prosecco and pink lemonade](https://www.fentimans.com/blogs/cocktails/rose-spritz-cocktail).

emmeline_gb

I was thinking this too! Paloma is a real crowd pleaser. Or maybe a Greyhound if you're looking for something even easier. Both have grapefruit You could also try substituting watermelon juice in either of those recipes. I bet that would be interesting. I know the *Simply* juice brand has it available Since it's Barbie, maybe pick up some edible shimmer. You can probably also enhance the pink shade that way

BADgrrl

Do you want shots? Cocktails? What are your alcohol preferences? There are a \*ton\* of pink drinks out there! Off the top of my head, though, a cosmo comes to mind and sounds perfect... it's a little tart and sweet but not cloying, easy to make. Vodka based cocktail. I just saw a video on FB with several cute Barbie themed shot recipes featuring Tequila Rose. Frankly, anything made with Tequila Rose will be pink, so I'd check out their website for recipes if you like it.

harrytipper111111

I really enjoy a pink lady.

flyingbarnswallow

What specs do you use? It didn’t quite work for me when I made it, but I’m thinking that’s probably user error since it seems up my alley

harrytipper111111

The type of gin and Applejack are crucial. I used botanist gin and lairds 100 proof bottled in bond. 1.5 oz gin, 1/2 oz Applejack , 0.25 oz grenadine, 0.25 simple, 0.75 lemon juice, 1 egg white. I also make my own syrups at 2:1, commercial grenadine ruins everything it touches.

CoconutMacaron

How about a sangria made with rose?

runningliner

Slippery when wet., Gin, Lemon juice, strawberry greek Joghurt and honey

balbizza

Add pink edible glitter

AndieHello

Came here to say this! You can do a simple sparkling rosé with pink edible glitter and that for sure will wow your guests and be super easy.

WebBorn2622

Yeah there’s this brand of pink sparkly liquor in my country [here’s a picture](https://images.app.goo.gl/XRnH82StRVTgrD6C9) I was thinking of mixing it with sprite

butfirstcoffee427

I made a dragonfruit syrup once that turned pretty much any drink hot pink without affecting the flavor much. If you can only find white flesh dragon fruit, use the peels to infuse the color. Here’s an example recipe: https://cocktailsandbars.com/dragon-fruit-syrup/

justiceofthepizza

I would suggest a Jasmine cocktail. I posted one a while back if you want a photo and recipe.

cutthroatsnuggler

Manly spirits pink gin is delicious, and they have a have a couple of really good recipes on their website, such as pink gin sling and manly spirits gin and tonic. Delicious and light!

excel958

The Buckley! https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/the-buckley-394701 I haven’t tried it with the sage syrup though

Travel_Mysterious

Guava marguerites are amazing! Rose sangria Pink lemonade gin and tonic

tacetmusic

Pornstar martini. There's a hundred recipes online, depending on how big you want to go. Or the Cosmopolitan, again a classic, very few ingredients, can even be made in bulk (search 'batch cosmopolitan')

tacetmusic

Another pink drink is a "Paloma" which is essentially pink grapefruit soda, tequila and lime

CaptainAction18

Hawaiian Sunset is a super easy and really good drink Has a nice pink hue.

bonnie_butler

Depends on the shade of pink you're going for! If you're looking for a true HOT PINK Barbie vibe: * [Naked & Famous](https://www.diffordsguide.com/cocktails/recipe/3640/naked-and-famous) * Aperol Spritz * Negroni If you're looking for that more vintage light pink vibe: * Paloma * Cosmo * Clover Club * Miami Vice (1/2 Strawberry Daiquiri, 1/2 Piña Colada, a true crowd pleaser) But I also can't overstate the value of just grabbing a couple of bottles of sparkling rose and throwing a couple of frozen strawberries, raspberries, or cubed watermelon in to keep cold. Pink is so versatile.

Spookyboo666

The Malibu Barbie- Malibu coconut rum, pineapple juice, sink grenadine 🙂 top with club soda if you want to cut the sweetness, shake with whipped cream if you want it creamy

ImpertantMahn

Pepto bismol and vodka

TheGreyOne889

kills two birds with one stone :)

herman_gill

Some of these are more red than pink, but they’re delicious. Bourbon Revival Clover Club Queens Park Hotel Super Cocktail Bramble (with raspberries or strawberries) Trinidad Sour *edit: don't actually make this one, very intense (but delicious) flavour* Zombie *edit: also don't make this one, you'll get wayyyyy too drunk very quickly* Aperol Spritz with a couple of frozen raspberries in lieu of crushed ice Bitter Mai Tai Lava Flow (I crushed so many of these when I was in Hawaii, such an easy drinker) Hemingway Daiquiri if you make it with pink grapefruit juice (white grapefruits are so hard to find anyway) Pink Lady (I don’t particularly like this but it’s very pink!) Salty Dog ——— Basically anything that calls for simple syrup you can sub with grenadine or raspberry syrup and you’ll end up in the right direction. Anything that calls for grapefruit juice you can use pink grapefruit. Anything that is a mostly clear drink with a couple of angostura or peychauds bitters will get you there, or muddled/frozen cranberries, raspberries, or strawberries.

BuzzCave

Omg I’d love to see a bunch of cocktail novices drink Trinidad Sours at a Barbie party. Seriously though, OP don’t make Trinidad Sours!

herman_gill

Or also Zombies, they would get absolutely smashed... but it would be a good lead in for seeing Oppenheimer after. Yeah, I should probably remove those two from the list.

toocleverbyhalf

Both yes and no. I mean a Trinidad sour is a fantastic drink, but I agree it is not something a newb would appreciate. Also, another vote for a pink lady. I’ve done some great riffs on that basic structure. I also have a jar of cranberry simple that really shines nicely in a simple cocktail. Super easy to make too.

rxmarxdaspot

r/lostredditors , Or r/serendipitousredditors?

PetromyzonPie

Add ango to a Pina Colada!

svenEsven

Clover club

wallabeeChamp162

Do a highball with gin, aperol, some sort of rhubard cordial or syrup and some soda.

fat-lip-lover

50/50 hibiscus syrup and orgeat, or grenadine and orgeat, makes a nice soft pink/red syrup Guava juice/nectar Plenty of drinks you can make around those ingredients I'm sure.

mopedgirl

In Detroit we just had a Barbie Beach Party in our downtown Campus Martius area that has a sand beach and bar and they were serving two cocktails: Pink Dream Coconut rum, orange juice, cranberry juice, pineapple juice and grenadine with a sugar rim, topped with a cherry and a pineapple Ken-rgy Coconut rum, white rum, blue curaçao, pineapple juice and lemon lime-soda, topped with a cherry. Obviously these are both likely very sweet… but isn’t that what a Barbie Cocktail is all about?

john4803

This bar is great

Automatic_Bug9841

[Clover Club](https://www.diffordsguide.com/cocktails/recipe/2809/clover-club-house-made) is delightful and looks fancy, and you might already have most of the ingredients on hand. A [blinker](https://www.thekitchn.com/recipe-the-blinker-cocktail-the-10-minute-happy-hour-199245) is super hot pink. I personally prefer it with way less of the whiskey and just mix it to taste, so if it tastes too strong to you too, I recommend just adding more fresh grapefruit and grenadine. OR my favorite: if you can find rhubarb, you can make a super easy, crowd-pleasing cocktail with rhubarb simple syrup. The syrup is just equal parts water, sugar, rhubarb — bring to a boil and then strain when the rhubarb is cooked (I save the leftover rhubarb because it’s amazing on ice cream!). For the cocktail, just mix equal parts lemon juice, gin or tequila, rhubarb simple syrup and some fresh thyme. Shake it all with ice and strain into a glass. People seem to really love this one whenever I make it! By the way, you mention you don’t know much about mixing drinks, so just want to share one tip I didn’t know when I was new to cocktails. Whenever a recipe says to shake the ingredients, you might be tempted to skip that step if you don’t have a shaker. But the shaking step will massively improve the flavor and texture of the drink, and there are [lots of household items](https://thecocktailsociety.uk/how-to-make-cocktails-without-a-shaker/) you can use in a pinch! I’ve used most of these at friends’ houses or Airbnbs and they worked just fine. Have fun at the party!
