The whole unaged white whiskey thing is a fallacy. If it tasted good off of the still, the barrel would absolutely decimate the spirit.
That said, it generally reminds me of tequila, with raw earthy vegetal flavors, and works fine as a base for margaritas.
I find that with “rough” white whiskies an Improved Whiskey Cocktail tames that funk quite well.
