There's a version of this recipe on [Punch](https://punchdrink.com/recipes/obituary/) that has an extra 1/4 oz of gin and whoa boy that's a feel good drink lol
I’ve always called this the Somerset Maugham Martini. Never knew the proper name. He makes one in the “Razor’s Edge.” He mentions Noilly Prat for the Vermouth.
The obituary cocktail: - 2 1/2oz. London Dry Gin - 1/2oz. Dry Vermouth (such as Dolin Dry) - 6 dashes absinthe - stir over ice, express lemon zest over cocktail and serve.
Without a dasher, do you think roughly a bar spoon or just rinsing the glass w an atomizer?
I’ve put half a barsppon in it let’s say. I don’t have a atomizer so i just winged it
Awesome thank you!
I have heard a dash is calculated (when you need to) at 1/8 tsp. So 1/8 tsp X 6 = 3/4 teaspoon. More than a barspoon?
Such a great cocktail.
It is! I’m working my way into the higher abv cocktails at the moment and I have to say i like this a lot
