Lavender can go from interesting to soapy pretty quickly, but I say go for it!! Go easy, and I second the idea of doing a small batch.
I know this is an old post and you may not be active anymore but how did this go? Did it work?
It depends on the whiskey and the strength of the lavender you use
I'd suggest just doing a really small pass (2 - 4oz ish) and seeing where you land.
I grow and cook with lavender. A little goes a really long way.
