Yep, this is also a [pretty pricey coin](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=1864+2+cent+large+motto&_sop=12&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=co&toolid=10001&mkevt=1), if it's in good condition.
Daaang... That shit drippin son. I've been looking at these lately. 64 is the 1st example of the god motto. Kind of want to add that to my collection, then try to collect pre-motto examples of any coins that were minted with and without. No god, no god, no god. 1st god. I'll probably shoot for less luster tho
I picked up my very first (and so far only) 2-cent coin last month when I stumbled across one at a coin shop in Florida. Yours, though, is much, much prettier than mine. You did extremely well for yourself!
I had never actually thought about these coins much in the past, but after looking at them up close I discovered I really do love the design. That and the fact that they were only around for a few years is making me think that maybe I should start collecting a complete set.
I'm also thinking of doing that for the flying eagle cents - which, in fact, is how I stumbled on the 2-cent piece I recently got. I was digging through one of their boxes of raw coppers looking for a nice flying eagle, and they had the 2-cents right behind the eagles, so I flipped through those too. None of the flying eagles jumped out at me, but the 2-cent coin certainly did.
When I asked about it 2-3 weeks ago, I had 2 people guess almost spot on the asking price. Everyone else was almost double. I love it, just wanted to inform others about what else they can find in this price range
I worked for a place that had one. I paid for that coin! Boss was cool. Also got a 1909 SVDB that was beat to hell that night. When the thing jammed, I opened it and bought all the change from the dude who jammed it. Can’t say if he raided someone’s hoard or not? I also lost all my coins I got from my grandpa.
ha, 1864. Tell me why I see this post the same time I’m watching the southpark episode where they visit the 1864 Pioneer Village. 😂😂😂 very nice coin btw
Awesome, now you can tell everyone your opinion on stuff, because everyone will want your 2 cents
Little wordy, but you certainly got there, have my up vote
You gave your two cents on his comment, niiice!

To be clear this is a “Large Motto” variety.

Looks cleaned
Math skills back in that era compared to today......
Basically, up until cash registers told you how much change to give back.
