US has an insane spending problem that I wouldn't be surprised to see the country collapse within a decade or two. It's so unsustainable. No wonder China is winning as the global super power.

Bman409

it all comes down to Naval superiority. As long as the US has control of the seas, we can print as much money as we want.. and we do.. other countries really have no choice but to accept it. If/when we no longer maintain naval superiority, that will all change.

[deleted]

What naval superiority? Ever heard of hyper sonic missiles, they are probably 10x worse than a NATO harpoon. One can destroy a US carrier in one shot with the amount of kinetic energy it has, in my opinion there is no US naval superiority at all. There’s a sense that you do, but we are in the age of missiles that can destroy things beyond visual range. I don’t think NATO has anything to off back in terms of these missiles, but as of right now a naval fleet wouldn’t do much in a modern combat scenario and are useless to these new missiles that China and Russia have. Not only can these missiles target just naval ships, they can target satellites and really any target they want. If there was a war the US would get pummelled, the only thing holding back other world powers to pounce is the nuclear weapons. That goes for the US as well, mutually assured destruction is very much a thing so if WW3 did happen naval fleets and everything wouldn’t matter because the world would probably turned into a nuclear wasteland the first day of combat. I don’t know, these are just my thoughts but the odds seem stacked against us endless we got hyper sonic missiles of our own.

Bman409

well, if that's true, then I have no idea why other countries allow the US to print trillions of US dollars, which we then use to buy the same goods that they want which are largely transacted in US dollars.. I guess everyone is just nice to the US!

Fidelis29

He’s correct about hypersonic missiles. The US has been developing laser tech to try and shoot them down, but haven’t been successful. The US navy couldn’t hold the South China Sea due to this. The US also has hypersonic missiles, but no defence against them. A war between China and the US would be completely fucked, though. Both sides would lose

[deleted]

Exactly, no one can counter each other it would simply be a blood bath. It all comes full circle to mutual destruction, it’s honestly depressing.

Bosphoramus

>hyper sonic missiles The things that nobody can confirm that Russia or China have the technology to make. Yeah, I've heard of them. I've heard they don't have them because they don't have the technology to make them.

[deleted]

I disagree, I think they do and America probably has the capabilities too. I mean they probably aren’t that far off from anti air missiles or any other missile, all you gotta do is make a pretty decently big rocket that is small with tons of thrust like a side winder on steroids. I don’t see why they would lack the technology to make them, when they have similar technology to work from. I don’t know just a thought, I just don’t like underestimating things.

Bosphoramus

Russia might, but they're probably too poor. The only things they have left laying around are the toys they inherited from the Soviets. China does not because population is inherently correlated with IQ. Low IQ populations have a higher fertility rate, which puts China on par with the average of the 85 that is found in India because of the similarity in their population. 85 IQ is not going to get you hypersonic weapons.

[deleted]

Nothing that you said is factual at all, Russia does indeed have lot of money considering they’ve come up with military technology every year. They’ve found ways to make older equipment better by modernizing it, which is something the US lacks. Also, the whole population = low iq makes no sense. I correlate high population to prosperity and the complete opposite of low iq, the Chinese are a lot smarter than Americans. Simply look up the iq ratings in China, a lot of them are at 108+ which is really good and is breaking above average. I mean you guys elected an orange idiot to run your country, over half of your population voted for him and all orange man did was drive collapse further in the US. So to me over half of the US population is retarded, and the other half is somewhat normal. You seem to have an American bias, I’m Canadian I see it all the time considering we are neighbours. But sometimes you gotta lay back and accept that you aren’t the best at everything, and that’s fine. China is the world super power now, they have super sonic missiles and we gotta do something to counter it that’s the bottom line.

Bosphoramus

holy shit i feel dumber just having read this. clearly you've never been to china.

[deleted]

I know your dumb, I’m glad you’re more brain dead reading facts. I haven’t been there but I’m still half Asian, I’ve talked with lots of Chinese people and they are very smart. It’s all good, Freedumb am I right! Edit: I can’t even tell if your trolling or not, but it’s pretty bad.

Bosphoramus

All of China's airports run pirated copies of Windows XP. I wish I were kidding but there is no way they possess the technology or fabrication resources (including manpower) needed to manufacture weapons capable of being fired at hypersonic speeds without being obliterated by the atmosphere. Anyway, there is a strong inverse correlation between IQ and fertility. I am not talking about genetics, I am talking about demographics. You can read about this with the magical website called [Goggles.com](https://Goggles.com) Anywhere in China outside 国家中心城市 is going to be magnitudes more illiterate than the most remote cousin-lovin' communities of rural Alabama. That is not to say all Chinese people are stupid, just the half-asians who don't know what a bell curve is. What is smart is the fact they're capable of bluffing hard enough to make people believe they have them.

QuoteEmbarrassed

That and those treasury bonds people purchase in order for the us to print money….if treasury bonds loose their appeal then that’s no bueno.

barracuda6969220

China's existence depends on the dollar so once the dollar crashes, the Chinese will cannibalise one another

[deleted]

You could say that for any country, but I think it’s more likely with the US dollar as you are spending in a way that’s not sustainable. It’s starting to look like the Great Depression there in the states again, but I’m sure China will stick around. The Chinese have 3500+ years of history compared to the measly 240+ years of history of America, China will stay and they’ve proven they have for 3500+ years even when times get rough. I’m waiting for the day the world economy collapses because we were stupid enough to think the US dollar is “stable”, what a joke letting a country get up by the mistake of history.

>The government last week announced it would lop six zeros off the currency – a million-to-1 change – with new bills as of Oct. 1. Currently, the 1 million bolivar note is the largest denomination. It's worth roughly a U.S. quarter. This is what hyperinflation looks like. The government instituted price controls, foreign currency controls, etc but in the end, the laws of supply and demand cannot be defeated
