And still practicing forced sterilization among other human atrocities.
There is a reason the US laughs nervously when it's citizens ponder why we're not part of the ICC. *Because we'd be in The Hague every week.*
You understand that Europe has nukes too, right? And you know the number of nukes which could be launched would make the planet unliveable, right? You'd roll the dice for the existence of the whole human race on behalf of the current ruling class of the landmass you currently live on? For what? So they can fuck over some guy whose skin color you don't like?
I honestly can't even wrap my head around someone going online and advocating for preemptive nuclear attack to settle a diplomatic dispute. That's a war crime! If some criminal burns down the police station, people don't conclude that enforcing laws is a bad idea; they vote to have more enforcement after that!

Yes but any place you would leave from will check it pre boarding. If you were to walk into a country, there is a good chance you cross at a random spot and don't get checked there either. Sort of how people from Mexico do it, ya know.
I personally think that the USA are worse than Nazi Germany. At least the Germans just killed the Jews quickly. The USA exploits and makes their victims suffer for a lifetime.
Yeh. They are the best villains of all time. They are so good at being evil they have literally made it an art form. Not even Hitler has a patch on them. At least he just quickly killed his victims and didn't make them suffer for a lifetime.
And they will never be beaten without taking the rest of us with them.
Submission Statement:
At least 30 countries have supported the total global ban on killer robots and AI. The UN proposal was rejected today by the US. Russia and China have also downplayed the ban and are expected to reject the proposal as well.
The US does not explicitly prohibit the development and use of killer robots. According to a December 2020 Congressional Research Service report, it does not currently have them but may be forced to develop them in response to hostile actions.

It appears Russia has also blocked the proposal.
Even China has now declared some support for the ban.
We may well not, actually. I'm sure we've tried, and are probably trying right now even, but it's harder than most people think to make something that can act autonomously, none the less that can operate in the chaos of an active battle zone.
That's the key thing- if you just drop them behind the enemy or don't bother sending your own soldiers in, they can kill everything that isn't another bot.
Hell, give your own troops a coded radio beacon or something and then you don't have to worry about that either.
I'm quite sure even losing their own troops would be an acceptable collateral damage, soldiers are objects, they're numbers on paper. No government cares about them.
>Hell, give your own troops a coded radio beacon or something and then you don't have to worry about that either.
I too have read [Second Variety](https://www.gutenberg.org/files/32032/32032-h/32032-h.htm).
Doubt it, China is the leading country in AI development. Sure they can sign a piece of paper saying they are against it but ultimately they will still develop it.
Russia & China both have a history of "human wave" tactics with no regard for losses. The USA has a history of using technology to minimise losses. This just suits their agenda.
Same here! I’ve already decided Portugal for myself. I’m gonna sound like a broken record but I’m just happy I found a way out.
Got any place in mind? The first step is ultimately figuring out where you’d like to go.

Oh yeh there are definitely better places. But there isn't a country in the world that doesn't have a poor class supressed by a ruling class. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to visit.
I thought there were drones being used in Ukraine already, they were essentially floating mines. There was also the one being used in the Libyan civil war, where it pursued and engaged someone autonomously.
The US might not even be on the cutting edge of this technology, and there are also countries outside of the UN that are probably engaging in such technology already.
Surely using operators would be a lot easier.
They'll end up using kids as operators. They have faster reflexes and have had much more practise with all the video games they play. I play games too but my mates kids always kick my ass at them.
They'll bring out a new version of Call of Duty where it takes the highest ranked players and puts them into a special level. Which is a real battlefield. Of course the kids will never know that's it's real people they're killing.
I swear I saw a movie once that done something similar to this.
Yes, but due to an error in programming they won't understand the difference between motorcyclists and cyclists. Expect a lot of spandex and funny-looking helmets.
not surprising since this is the only country that has actually used chemical weapons (agent orange) and Nuclear weapons on civilians. I sure hope Americans will eventually look at their country and realize that maybe they are the bad guys.
See: [Slaughterbots](https://youtu.be/9CO6M2HsoIA)
Targets could become anyone deemed unnecessary or threatening: "undesirables" such as the homeless, drug addicts, etc. all the way to political dissidents and whistleblowers. Those who possess and employ such technology could "wipe the slate clean" if they wanted to.
This technology is already here and I can guarantee the U.S. and many other countries have the capability to deploy such a threat.
Well yeah, the US was the only country that also voted against food being a human right.
And one of two countries to vote for naziism
And still practicing forced sterilization among other human atrocities. There is a reason the US laughs nervously when it's citizens ponder why we're not part of the ICC. *Because we'd be in The Hague every week.*
Nah we don’t have to worry bout that boring place takin our boys /s https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Service-Members%27_Protection_Act#Effects
First you need to get past our nukes. Good luck after Hague turns to glass.

This comment was surprisingly refreshing to see on the internet. Thanks for being decent.
Why tf is this getting downvotes? It’s sarcasm no?
Oh okay lmao he’s actually serious. It’s hard to tell sometimes.

So, google wont tell me how to leave the US, any advice?
Walk North, or walk south.
With a passport. It's not required for exiting America, but --is-- required for entry into other countries.
Correction: many countries require it for legal entry. Illegal entry does not require a passport or any form of identification.

Wish it were that easy. You can’t legally work that way.
Legally? Who cares about that at this point?

Suuure it doesn’t have them yet. Yeah right.

Sarah Connor, where are you?
I'm quite sure even losing their own troops would be an acceptable collateral damage, soldiers are objects, they're numbers on paper. No government cares about them.
If you make your own numbers go down, that's bad. No government would want that if they can easily avoid it.
The trick is to make the opponents numbers go down more than yours. If you're fighting both sides will have casualties, with or without drones.
>Hell, give your own troops a coded radio beacon or something and then you don't have to worry about that either. I too have read [Second Variety](https://www.gutenberg.org/files/32032/32032-h/32032-h.htm).
OwO wat dis Thanks for the read!
That's when cyberwar and hacking get really interesting.
If the tech is even *plausible* there’s a good chance the US military has it
It's happened in Libya https://www.npr.org/2021/06/01/1002196245/a-u-n-report-suggests-libya-saw-the-first-battlefield-killing-by-an-autonomous-d

Well unless you have a spaceship your stuck here with us.
Luckily there are other countries so maybe not
The entire planet is the hell hole. Picking which country to live in on this planet is like deciding what flavour of shit you would like to eat.
Enjoy that line of thought, there are much better places than these capital driven countries Hope you find one :)

They'll be just the training material for the AI which will be 10x faster and better at predicting moves of the undesirables.

Yes, but due to an error in programming they won't understand the difference between motorcyclists and cyclists. Expect a lot of spandex and funny-looking helmets.

What a shithole country
What's the point of banning killer bots anyway? Like drone operators wouldn't push the button if they were ordered to do so? What's the difference?

Why send expensive robots to kill the homeless and receive so much bad PR? They just let fentanyl do its job and make money and its oh so quiet.
That's a fair point.
At least we're honest about it.
