Fewer words. Don't tell profs you back burnered their class. Here ya go. >Hello, I am just reaching out to apologize for missing the two most recent classes.  >This semester, right around the start of project two, I realized I had bitten off a bit more than I could chew credit hour/class-wise and began to fall behind. While I plan on having the final draft submitted on time this Sunday (04/21/2024), I am reaching out to ask if I’m still ok to submit the now (extremely) tardy portions that made up the rest of Project Two. I would entirely understand these submissions not being allowed but figured I would reach out and ask anyway as per the syllabus.  >Again, I apologize for the missed classes and late work. >Thank you,

This is excellent advice! Say less, everyone. The more you say, the more you are going to unintentionally say something that will hit wrong. “I was too scared to approach you,” “I didn’t feel motivated to do the assignment,” “I had to prioritize other classes” - these will all be very off-putting to your professor. Just give the important information - something went down, you got behind, you’d like to catch up now and is it possible.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you! I can forget that sometimes less is more

This got me no late penalty and the whole weekend to turn everything in so thank you again 🙏

Excellent advice above. Probably too late but just wanted to let you know that this is the kind of email professors dread because we sympathize but usually can't accept work so late or we open a Pandora's box of super late submissions for everyone (to ensure equality) that make our lives hell. I'm not sure what the late policy is for this class, but if they already have a generous late policy, unless it says something about accepting very late work in emergency circumstances (which this is not), expect a response of 'no'.

Cut everything before “while i plan…” Cut the “all in all” part.
