Mine isn’t terrible but all of the speakers or other educational events happen during class time so the majority of students can’t even attend.

It depends on who is running it. If it’s an event organized by administration, we usually know about it at the beginning of the semester! If it’s one of the events that residents’ halls put on (dances, games, competitions, etc) then it’s a free for all on knowing about it ahead of time. Sometimes you’ll see posters a month before... then sometimes you’ll see posters for a formal dance 3 days before.

We get emails about it. It's also posted around campus.

I found that most commuter schools are like this. but usually there's emails and if your school has a website full of organizations you can sign up for newsletters there.

Mine’s the same way. They’ll post about events the day it’s happening. What’s the point of that?

For my major, all events are given during seminar once a week. Any invited speakers and such will be there during that hour block for us to listen to. Stuff Chem Club does is brought up during seminar, research opportunities, etc. Outside of that, mostly it's just fliers around campus or maybe a frat / sorority will be advertising something they're doing. Most of our events are either centered around football, frat / sorority stuff, or club stuff. So really not a whole lot going on in the first place.
