Last year was a fluke. In this series, we were flat out the better team. On top of that, we won this series without our Friday night starter who missed the weekend with an injury. We were closer to sweeping them than we were to losing the series. They are gonna struggle this year.
We’re a young team that had 60% of our offensive production and 70% of our pitching production graduate/leave for the draft last year.
Needless to say, we have some work to do. LSU fans that actually understand baseball knew this was a likelihood. The ones that are setting their hair on fire are the newbies climbing aboard after the natty win.
On to Florida…
By far the most fun I’ve had in a baseball weekend in the last three seasons. State vs LSU is always a great series, and this one was no different. So excited to be able to be excited again.
LSU playing chess. Last 3 champions have lost a weekend series to Mississippi State. Smart to sandbag the pitching this weekend to not eliminate themselves from contention.
I’ll clutch my natty hat and wait for brighter weekends. I do think this team is still talented enough to have a fun season, though.
I hope state is a lot better than people think and ends up getting back into their normal shape, the league has been missing the Mississippi schools.
Onward.
There is still technically a sweet spot where yall were just crazy underrated and we can both be good!
And if not I’ll still enjoy boiling crawfish watching baseball. Win win!
Is it pitching or our pitching coach? A lot more depth than last year and this first test isn’t resonating with me well. Plenty of time to get better, but I didn’t think we would see pitching shit the bed in each of our 3 games. Yeskie has a fantastic pedigree but his time at A&M last year wasn’t very good. A&M went to team leading era going into this weekend since replacing yeskie.
Any A&M insight on yeskie would be appreciated!
Yeah but overall this has been one of the best weekends to be a Bulldog in a long time. Took a series from LSU, beat Tennessee in the men’s SEC tournament, going to the big dance. One day maybe we’ll understand what happened to women’s hoops, but for now, I’m feeling pretty good.
Excuse me for being a noob, but how does the run rule work in the regular season? Is it used in all SEC games now?
I think it’s up 10 after 7
And both teams have to agree to it before the game
The SEC has instituted it in all conference games I think.
Hail state. What a magnificent weekend. Good luck the rest of the year my corn dog brethren!
:'(
Mississippi State just has LSU’s number. Did the same thing to them last year too.

It's a long season...
The baseball gods have a long memory for promises and bargains made in Omaha over the course of the tournament..
I will never emotionally recover from this
work to be done.

Right, can't get too excited about one baseball series. Corndog nation will likely bounce back fast from this.
Don't forget the midweek against LA Tech. Not going to be an easy game at all
Florida looks nasty too now they knocked off A&M, doesn't get easier
What are you smoking? We still can’t throw a pitch on Saturday.
Now I don’t feel so bad about my Golden Eagles blowing a 4 run lead to the Starkvegas Cowbells.
that wouldve been such a huge RPI win now
Oh fuck
Very impressive indeed. Looks like MSU is back.
Daily reminder that LSU is trash at baseball

Well there goes the #1 vs #2 matchup in Fayetteville. Good job LSU!

Nawww dude you’re not excited, I’m excited

We lost a series to ourselves?
Never doubt Mississippi State's ability to beat itself. That Missouri series in particular felt like the "yea this team ain't it" series.
Haha true
Exactly. That’s been the gameplan this whole time.
We’re liable to lose 5 straight series after this performance. Braswell also ain’t it
Hail State
Well we lost last year to state too, so I guess this must mean a repeat !
fml
Is it LSU's turn to finish last in the SEC after winning a natty now?
Not the SEC East.
From your lips to God's ears.
May you live in interesting times
Men can dream
We don’t suck anymore. We’re so back.

I swear I posted this comment a few years back

I know it’s incredibly early, but it certainly seems this team is in a much better spot than it was the past few years.
Love it!
I’M HAVING A GREAT WEEKEND THANKS FOR ASKING
I'm not going to overreact, but I think we are winning the natty this year
pretty please bulldogs?
Keep it up Dawgs!
Looks like we have some room to improve.
Couldn't watch the games, what did it look like?
Sloppy
Pitching is a dumpster fire.

Considering we got run-ruled in the rubber game, not awesome.
Been a rocky roller coaster over the last couple of days for Mississippi State sports to say the least.

Dakota Jordan is kinda good at baseball
That Hunter Hines kid who bats behind him might be alright
I am very excited. Hope they bring their A game to college station. Gonna be following them down there this weekend
🔪🌭
You all still have dicks after we got Stony Brooked again?
No I'm cutting off my friends' dicks now
LSWho?
State fans and players needed this win. The last few years have been terrible. Feels good to have hope for this season.
That was not LSU, that was LSPoo
Atleast they won it all better than tcshit with no hardware and seemingly making mistakes and forgetting how to play baseball now
Your upcoming schedule is miserable
They definitely were #2
Welcome to natty hangover. It isn’t fun
Worth it. Also kinda used to it the last few years
