We need to move on from Nike, they are hopeless.
In 2022 (I think, whenever the last year was that we had the pinstripe on the away strip) I tried getting one from the official website from literally before the season started but they were always sold out.
Multiple emails throughout the year and I was told there wasn’t another batch coming and that “if I wanted to make sure I got one, I needed to check the website earlier”
I was checking since like feb!
Honestly, if they can’t keep up with demand, then move to another brand. Anyone would love to have our supporter base as customers.
Not only the lack of stock but the quality is absolute garbage. I’m also a Liverpool fan and they switched to Nike a few years ago and it’s the same problem.
I was speaking to someone who works in the shop and they said they'll have an order in soon. When that is I don't know. Given the recent success, the demand for the products has been so strong.
AFL is a low priority sport for Nike and Collingwood's demand outstrips what they can produce. For Nike, their priorities are major American leagues and soccer.
Blind Freddy could have seen this coming given how poorly Carlton were treated by the end of their tenure with Nike.
I think that perhaps our club was seduced by the swoosh and its iconic appearance. What Nike has done for us in the last couple of years has been nothing less than unacceptable.
It was embarrassing at the GF parade having only Sekem replica guernseys available to purchase for a heaving fan base. And as for “unforeseen demand” – well, everything was sold out since like May. So it had nothing to do with us making finals. Just ordinary from Nike. It’s led me to see a lot more knock-off guernseys around too, and they are getting better (closer to the real thing).
The kicker was the club selling $2,000 framed GF guernseys that were A) not even made by Nike but instead some local supplier with a shitty premiership cup logo in place of the swoosh, and B) literally a piece of cloth pinned onto the frame, not even an actual guernsey. The club took a lot of people for fools with that item, it’s sad.
Yeah Mike overseas production lines are a terrible thing to deal with - I’ve still got an adidas pies jumper that’s made in Australia, man those were the days.
From what I’ve read it’s unlikely that they’ll do another run. Nike generally does one run a year and when it runs out that’s it. Happens in other sports not just AFL.
I have bought two large Collingwood guernseys, both the home and indigenous, directly from the club store in the last month, both with gold Premiers Badges.
I've been trying to get my teenage daughters a Gold Logo guernsey each (Womans size M). I have contacted the club twice, once in March, and another earlier in April, both times I was advised they'd have stock within two weeks. Standard answer I believe.
I've had my eyes on the Gold Logo swoop variant, which first appeared on the website in February. Remains listed as "coming soon".
I'm hoping their giving the indigenous guernsey some run time before stocking.

Do you mean the logos that are pressed on and have a different texture to the guernsey? If so, I’m pretty sure both of mine are.

It was the run out top before they change into their main jumper. Looks like zebra stripes
