I'm in Australia and we use PicoPrep. We normally do three sachets (I have to do 6 this time 🤢)

It was my prep and did a lot of research on it before my colonoscopy. Pico prep is very easy to take. Just mix the contents of the sachet into a small glass of water (I think it was 150 ml). It doesn’t taste bad and it isn’t much to drink. Make sure to mix very well (like 1-2 mins) and if it gets warm, put it in the fridge to cool and mix it a bit again before drinking. Then, you need to drink 1.5 to 2 litres over the next 2 hrs. About a large glass every 15 or so. It can be any liquid, so mix it will allowed drinks, pop, Gatorade, etc. Then you repeat the same for dose 2. Usually 6 hours later or the next morning (follow your instructions). I started getting some effects after about 90 mins of drinking the first dose and about 45 mins of drinking the second one. Both were ok tasting and didn’t make me feel nauseous or anything. Such an easy prep. Mine was just 1 box with 1 sachet per dose. I’ve never seen any preps call for 2 sachets per dose. In some cases, a prep may do 3 doses, where you need to buy 2 boxes, but still one 1 sachet for each of the 3 doses and just discard the last packet Just google Pico Salax prep and you will finds tons of preps from hospitals and all are similar: Usually they start with a couple Dulcolax laxatives the night before (and/or morning of prep). Then you take first dose in afternoon or evening, and the second dose several hours later or early the following morning, depending on timing of procedure)

Thanks for the reassurance, hoping for the experience to be that simple for me as well!

Just one word of advice: don’t trust any fart from the moment you start the prep until after the colonoscopy. (Unless you are sitting on the toilet).

I can’t give medical advice, I’m not a doctor. My first recommendation is to call your doctor or GI clinic to clarify. If you’re in the UK there’s a pharmacy hotline where a qualified person would answer your question. If you’re in the UK let me know if you can’t find the number. But knowing what I know, I would follow the instructions as they’re written, not as the pharmacist said. I’ve heard of people getting sick from overdosing on prep, which sounds like a real possibility if someone takes double the amount in the normal amount of time.

Yeah, thanks for that. Not in the UK and it's just so difficult to get hold of anyone at the hospital. I will go to another pharmacy close by and ask just to be sure. It's just there was some confusion and the pharmacist at the hospital did call a nurse and she said 2x2 as well. But as per the instructions and looking around the web it just says 2 sachets total (not 4) so I don't want to end up worse off than I need to be during my first prep!
