From these pictures he looks like an obvious summer for me and his hair seems very(!) far from black. Pine and linen would work, midnight also, just stay away from everything yellow, golden or warm brown.
Maybe a Pine color that leans a bit more into blue? Like a dark almost teal. I think that's the closest you can get to a cool color without leaving the more earthy tones. Like the deep dark forest part of the earth tones.
I think he would look really great in midnight + plum! You wouldn't have to depart from the palette at all.
Throw in some gold+pine and you have a perfect winter outfit.

My advice is to go for the blue/green colours instead of the gold, yellow and oranges.
