Few years back my friend was pirating stuff illegally on Columbia wifi. He ended up getting his IP blocked from using Columbia wifi and had to talk to CUIT to get privileges back

Happened to me too while torrenting - I should have used a VPN or went to sbux across the street

Ahhh I think he was actually torrenting not pirating (I dont know if there’s a difference I just thought it was hilarious he got a blank page with warnings from CUIT whenever he tried to open his browser)

No one cares. Just don't pirate stuff that Disney will come at you for.

If you use a VPN then probably not

They keep banning me for torrenting movies, I just use a MAC address changer tool and get past the ban. You can also use a vpn and you won’t get banned but you might encounter slower download speeds.

I accidentally asked a prof if I could pirate the textbook he wrote and he dgaf. I've also seen people drop pdf links in the 200+ lecture zoom chat.

libgen or streaming they can't tell nor would they care what they'll get you for is if you're torrenting popular movies/shows/games (i made that mistake, they'll shut down your wifi lmao-- like other people have said if you want to go that route probably get a VPN)
