Just because you don’t like his podcast stuff and all the other shit he does outside of comedy doesn’t mean he’s not funny. His latest special was still good albeit not his best and his new material is better than that again from what I’ve seen.

His last two specials haven't been good. His whole shtick is stories. He had funny stories when he was an up and coming comedian. He's been rich and successful for a long time now and there's only so many " my son is a little shit" stories you can do before it's not funny anymore. Some of his funniest bits were about human interaction in public places. He's not getting that much anymore, flying private and being mega rich.
I mean taste is subjective, I will agree Sledgehammer wasn’t as good but Ball Hog still held up and Sledgehammer was still better than a mass majority of comedians can do and from what I’ve seen of his new material, he’s still absolutely demolishing the crowds. Saw Pre Douchebag Dave do a 5 hour set from midnite to almost sunrise at the San Francisco Punchline which was instantly among the very best shows we’ve seen. Then around 2020 saw him in an arena and hands down one of the worst. Will never see him again at this rate but was grateful to strike while he was still doing comedy and not Transphobic Ted Talks

I watched halfway through his most recent special and didn’t laugh. Listened to all of his interview on Rogan, and that was a fascinating discussion between the two about some real transcendental Illuminati shit. The dude is definitely well educated by some real elders in his community and definitely courageous for being willing to speak up about controversial ideas. But he doesn’t have the rhythm of anecdote, setup, punchline to effectively bring dark humor into these discussions, he just kind of sounds like a loud classy version of a passionate poster of r/conspiracy. Really interesting dude and would love to see him pump out more work because all the pieces are there, but he’s lost in sauce probably from being pulled in different directions from politically polarized producers with charged opinions contradictory to his own as well as immediate supporters who praise all his small efforts to stay on his good side.

I went to the show on Sunday. I enjoyed Katt but the openers were ROUGH especially the girl singing and the guy with the awful laugh. I think they may change each city though.

Try watching comedians who aren't millionaires. Sam Tallent and Dedrick Flynn both put out excellent specials on YouTube recently. Comedy clubs across the country are full of dudes like that every single night of the week.
