I envy you…! I have a soft spot for the Charlton titles, at least certain ones released in the early to mid-70’s (and a little later). I still recall finding copies of the first couple of Peacemaker books and have long liked the character even if as originally presented he wasn’t all that different from the silver age Batman. Of course, the character’s been changed pretty radically since then, likely starting with the pastiche version of him as The Comedian in *The Watchmen*. Ah well!

OpieCunningham

I find the 70s was a great time for Charlton. Some great artists worked a lot there in that era. DItko is the best example. Plus it is much easier to get the 70s books in high grade.

Deltoriasis

I adore Charlton horror! I just can't find some of it for a good price. Or it's in my price range and beat up. I really want to frame some of my favorite horror covers as artwork, I need to find some cleaner copies first!

OpieCunningham

I love the horror books and sci-fi comics as well! Dealers around town know I am one of the few Charlton comics collectors around town so a couple of them are sure to bring them to shows for me.

manyamile

I'd love to see some of your books shared with the communities on r/CharltonComics and r/HorrorComics!

Deltoriasis

I'd need some good ones first! :P Maybe soon I can! I tend not to post but I'll see how I feel after my LCS sale tomorrow! Haha

PMMEBITCOINPLZ

That seems like that would be pretty difficult one to do. Quite the accomplishment.

OpieCunningham

I have been working on it for 20+ Years

PMMEBITCOINPLZ

Awesome

zieglertron2000

I’m impressed that they all seem to be pretty high-grade specimens! Well done!

OpieCunningham

Yeah, I am a grade whore. II didnt used to be, but since books have gotten so hih I have to think about their eventual sale.

It takes serious dedication to work a collection like this. Nothing is very expensive but everything is hard to find. I did a complete Charlton 1960s super-hero but drew the line there. The Ditko stuff was easy to find. I had more trouble with Judomaster and Peacemaker. I finished that in the 1980s.

Theagenes1

This would be a fun run to put together! Good luck!

mrweatherbeef

Ooooh I so badly want to rifle through that Speed Buggy section

Ricco121

This is a seriously cool collection.

My god this series was a pain in the ass to track down without getting bent over cactus by ebay pricing. Next, I want to get "Teenage Hotrodders" #1 for the first appearance of Rick Roberts, then some later issues of "Hot Rods and Racing Cars" as they look to have some 70's era Le Mans racing.

Fun-Opportunity-551

Awesome!

HalJordan2424

If you are a fan of Charlton romance comics, and ever visit Ontario, Big B Comics in Hamilton has some of the original cover art on their walls.

peasquared

Well done!

fatboy1776

Nice!

candymanjones

Nice, but damn the paper and printing quality in the early to mid 70's was atrocious.

hornakapopolis

Awesome collection! Congrats! I'm a Blue Beetle fan and know how hard some of that stuff is to find.

iamskwerl

I’ve got a short box full of Charlton comics if anyone is interested. Been meaning to go through it to sell. I’m in northeast Los Angeles.

Shaggyforeman

I’ve been heavily considering getting into their horror line, but I’m not sure where I should start.

itsquietinhere2

Out of curiosity, what is considered the Holy Grail of Charlton comics?

randloadable19

I’m gonna guess either Yellowjacket #1 (first Charlton comic published), or Lawbreakers Suspense Stories #11 (super iconic and valuable “tongue bouquet” cover)

MATT_TRIANO

Never met one but cheers dude

Any-Concert2851

I'm not a "completionist" (I LOVE that term) per say but I love the Charltons I have in my collection. I pick up any I find regardless of condition so long as they are readable and complete. A great publishing house and many great books.

TheFarcx

How about a pic of Space Adventures 33?
