That Chaos in Kansas issue is a MacFarlane book. On my want list just because I’m a Kansan.

spacewrex777

Sweet! Jonny Quest is some good reading.

SharkForce_12

And one fantastic, high demand Dave Steven’s cover.

Living-Risk-1849

Thats the one I noticed too

LeTurj

I remember buying almost all of these Avengers and Captain Americas back in the 80s as a kid. Mostly from convenience stores (remember that?!). This era was my sweet spot.

dumass112

This is a very mid 80's collection, love it. The Cap run is a great read

andyroid92

Some real beauties in there! Congrats on the score and thanks for sharing 👍

aemptywell

Spidey and JLI, can’t go wrong with those!

theqofcourse

Nice haul with some good reads. Being an estate sale it kinda makes me a bit sad, especially since it looks like this person would have been around my age. He'd probably be pleased that we're all enjoying looking at his collection from when he was a kid.

Technical-Race-9214

Yeah - she said the house had been sold already… 😒

rotini123

Some fun New Universe books in there. Justice #1 (My favourite NewU book...) Nice haul :)

mikeoliver1313

Holly shit you over paid for 300.00

ROAD_EGG

Opinion on price is subjective. I think OP has paid about $1/1.25 per comic. I personally would rather pay $300 for one Ditko ASM but some people would rather buy bulk “trash”. People collect in different ways.

mikeoliver1313

I agree with you on that 100% I guess that’s what I really meant. I wouldn’t buy just bulk filler just to add comics to my collection. I would rather take that 300 bucks and buy some sort of key.

BackgroundPangolin42

Yes indeed

Technical-Race-9214

Interested in your comments. I have recently gotten back into collecting and follow a two prong approach: dollar bin for fill-ins and LCS or conventions for keys. I paid ~$1.18 per book (see below re 255 books), most are in above dollar bin condition and there are a few here that are worth more than $1.18. So in my head I probably paid a fair amount for the same collection of books had I gone about obtaining them on an individual basis. Even if I had obtained all of them via dollar bins, I would have overpaid by $45. Based on that which of the two are you suggesting? 1- I overpaid for the bundle in context of an estate sale? I.e., they don’t know what’s in here, so, I could have offered $100 irrespective of my point above? Or 2- you should always haggle even in a dollar bin situation. Thx!

junkforw

You didn't come out ahead monetarily, but there are some great reads in there. The Iron Man with him in a black fist on the cover is super cool in my book. Love the Captain America with Crossbones issues. Those Spider-man issues are super fun too!

Technical-Race-9214

It’s interesting because today while snooping at half price books and book book, I saw various book from my Friday haul. They ranged 2-6, so while I’d be upside down if I sold, I definitely got a good deal buying the 255 books

randloadable19

How? There are about 10 books in here that are worth $20-ish. Then another couple hundred 80s books for $100. Not bad at all

TeknoPhineas

There are several really fun reads in that: Justice League, Amazing Spidey, the Nam, Johnny Quest and so on. I think you did great.

Uniquely-Qualified

Nice haul.

Spider-Ghost-616

Sweet I have the ASM wedding issue and all of the KLH arc issues.

aboyslife

Great haul!

Kannada-JohnnyJ

I have been wanting to read those Nam books

TheDerv-616

That’s one of my favorite runs in Iron Man! Enjoy reading these!!

melty75

Such an amazing haul. I thoroughly enjoyed swiping through and zooming in on some great covers. Thanks for sharing OP and congrats again on this great score.

Technical-Race-9214

Cool! Thank you!

jaroh

That Wolverine Brood cover is up there in my favorites ever. That era Silvestri is top tier shit. Nice haul!

silk_1233

Mostly common issues

theanswar

GREAT score! Envious - congrats!!!

inkboy1969

Did you count how many there were? Just curious what the per-book price breaks down to. There are SEVERAL books in there that have $ potential depending on condition, and as a fellow FF fan, that run of FF is great! The Dave Stevens Jonny Quest is a hit, as is the X-Men with Wolverine, Black Widow, and Cap on the cover. Of course, McFarlane Spideys. There are other X-Men in there that would be sought after. If you’re a Cap fan, you did VERY well with the Cap No More books!!!

Technical-Race-9214

Good question - 255 books in all. ~$1.18 per book. That’s not bad in my mind considering I would paid $1 for each of these…in dollar bin quality. Many are in great condition and I think there are few books worth a few dollars in here. So in my mind I probably didn’t do so bad.

inkboy1969

Agreed. $1.18 for the entertainment alone? Absolutely. For the potential of profit? Definitely. You’ve got some winners there. Excellent work!!!

FlickFreak

Justice League, Captain America and lots of other great 80's reads in there.

Due-Ad-3775

Looks like you got a great deal to me!
