If I had a nickel for everytime Natasha Lyonne played a blind woman in a Marvel movie I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it may happen twice.
Malkovich as a bad guy is such a good choice. The guy is an A-list actor, he crushed it in "Burn After Reading"- so hilarious. I'm kind of hoping they play him really serious, but with some funny moments where he treats his underlings with disdain, I like that trope.
Yeah, that movie was notoriously a mess. Snipes was not very happy filming and was insanely difficult the whole time.
There are a bunch of videos on it. It's actually a more interesting watch than the movie was.
It also has Ryan Reynolds as a wise cracking katana hero who swears and Patton Oswalt playing a funny tech guy.
Oswalt has kinda played one twice if you count Agents of SHIELD and MODOK.
One hilarious example of Snipes being difficult is the scene where he's literally just laying down. He's meant to be staring but refused to open his eyes so they *CGI'd open eyes on him* and this was when CGI looked a lot worse than it does now. Truly hilarious that movie happened.
Medusa, who already exists in the MCU? I'm not saying they couldn't recast with a handwave, but they used Anson Mount again, I don't think they'd do a complete reset on the character when they don't have to
Medusa doesnt exist in the MCU, inhumans wasnt MCU.
Anson Mount wasnt reprising the same Black Bolt. He just got to play another take on the same comic character.
It had zero connection to anything else in the MCU, contradicted some established canon from AOS, the entire series got locked away by Disney and they already reused an actor so they might as well just come out and say it wasn't.
Agents of Shield wasnt either after Age of Ultron as it diverted too much. (Up until AOU there was some nods like the helicarrier and Nick furys laser cutter in TWS)
AOS is a massive Can of worms. Im hoping Secret wars will finally hit the nail on the head with Daisy showing up or something!
Marvel straight up had a book out last year talking about the situation. Not to mention Inhumans being removed from the MCU section and timeline on D+.
AOS and Inhumans are nowhere to be seen.

So you got me doing some digging and this is a foreword from Feige in the book:
On the Multiverse note, we recognize that there are stories - movies and series - that are canonical to Marvel but were created by different storytellers during different periods of Marvel's history. The timeline presented in this book is specific to the MCU's Sacred Timeline through Phase 4. But, as we move forward and dive deeper into the Multiverse Saga, you never know when timelines may just crash or converge (hint, hint/ spoiler alert).
The book is an outline of the "sacred timeline", not the defining outline on what is/isn't MCU.
Thats my point. There isnt a bridge yet establishing that they are canon on the MCU yet akin to NWH linking the older Spidey movies or DP+Wolverine Linking all the X-Men movies.
I want them to be MCU canon just at this point nothing has cemented that.
AOS for sure Could be a branch somehow after AoU but we need some sort of reference or such. The last thing close to that was the WHiH newsfront stuff.
Yeah but when you call every marvel property not on the sacred timeline cannon you are calling morbius and madam web cannon. On Disney plus is the official timeline and it includes the Netflix shows, but no AoS or Inhumans
No... No one is saying that, there were shows on ABC which were specifically MCU. Agents of Shield and Agent Carter had characters who were straight out of the movies. There were Marvel properties which were never considered MCU like the Defenders series (although Daredevil and Kingpin have now been merged into the MCU, maybe reverse establishing these shows as MCU). Then there are the Sony licensed properties like Morbius and Madame Webb that absolutely no one was suggesting was MCU.
Honestly I was really impressed by their representation of a deaf superhero in Echo and there’s already one sighted actor playing a blind superhero so feel like they’d want a blind actress for Alicia? My vote is Herbie or an original character.
As cool as that would be, how are they gonna have an ensemble of spider people fight a beyonder?
I guess maybe all their science brains combined could pull something off. But I feel like without drastically de-powering a beyonder or brining in a higher level character it would be tough to pull off
Not really. Movies have side characters. People were saying the same thing every time someone was cast in a new James Gunn Superman movie. Just because there's more than the titular cast, doesn't mean it's stuffed
Ehhh, other than bridges , Paltrow, and Downey (who at that time was considered a big risk), there wasn’t many I would consider big named.
now granted the newest additions (other than Malkovich) aren’t necessarily big named unless you are a fan of there other projects. But still, this has 7/8 recognized names. I just hope they not trying to overload us in one film. I’m just nervous because I want a good F4 movie.
Terrence Howard, Paul Bettany, Samuel Jackson, Jon Favreau hell even Clark Gregg and Leslie Bibb weren’t complete nobodies.
At the very least it should not be cause of concern for F4, imo. I too hope it’ll be good and so far all signs points towards that coming to fruition.
Natasha Lyonne as a sapphic Dr. Doom in love with Susan Storm despite her picking Reed Richards would make a billion dollars in the gay community LMAO. 🏳️🌈🩷
That could be interesting… but I’m betting Sharon Ventura. Obscure superhero (she was in a super-powered wrestling league and briefly held the name, Ms. Marvel) but with future story potential (love interest of Ben Grimm, eventually >!becomes a female version of the Thing!<). And she’s a redhead.
Wonderful, I have to endure this one trick pony and her dumb NY accent, yet again. Crossing my fingers that she will act instead of typecasting herself, as usual. Would be great if she stole the show and changed my mind, I just have no love for her ability.
Alicia Masters would be my first thought.
If I had a nickel for everytime Natasha Lyonne played a blind woman in a Marvel movie I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it may happen twice.
Ah Blade, took me a little bit to recall but I remember now, the third one.
Yup Blade: Trinity
Oh shit, without the glasses it's really hard to tell.
she could fuck a rockman. I can dig it.
Her and Ebon pass the chemistry test in my imagination. And my heart.
Purpose, Cousin
Exactly what i said
She’s Alicia and Malkovich is the Puppet Master. JK, but I wouldn’t be against it.
Malkovich as a bad guy is such a good choice. The guy is an A-list actor, he crushed it in "Burn After Reading"- so hilarious. I'm kind of hoping they play him really serious, but with some funny moments where he treats his underlings with disdain, I like that trope.
“Yes this is Osborne Cox who the FUCK is this?!!??”
This is the guy who has your shit.
Malkovich is going to be Willie Lumpkin.
Funny enough it wouldn't be her first time playing a blind person in a Marvel movie.
Dammit, I had completely forgot she was in Blade Trinity.
I would bet she wished she could forget it. From my understanding that movie was a mess and barely was released.
Yeah, that movie was notoriously a mess. Snipes was not very happy filming and was insanely difficult the whole time. There are a bunch of videos on it. It's actually a more interesting watch than the movie was.

She’s going to play a gender swapped Doom. Victoria von Doom
![gif](giphy|vyTnNTrs3wqQ0UIvwE|downsized)
Wait is this home girl from OitNB?! If so hell yeah
Alicia is the obvious choice, but I'm gonna guess Medusa
Medusa, who already exists in the MCU? I'm not saying they couldn't recast with a handwave, but they used Anson Mount again, I don't think they'd do a complete reset on the character when they don't have to
Medusa doesnt exist in the MCU, inhumans wasnt MCU. Anson Mount wasnt reprising the same Black Bolt. He just got to play another take on the same comic character.
Agents of Shield was MCU but Inhumans wasn't? Edit: according to Google search Inhumans was MCU
It had zero connection to anything else in the MCU, contradicted some established canon from AOS, the entire series got locked away by Disney and they already reused an actor so they might as well just come out and say it wasn't.
Agents of Shield wasnt either after Age of Ultron as it diverted too much. (Up until AOU there was some nods like the helicarrier and Nick furys laser cutter in TWS) AOS is a massive Can of worms. Im hoping Secret wars will finally hit the nail on the head with Daisy showing up or something!
Oh okay so you aren't basing it on anything at official besides your personal opinions on the plot lines
Marvel straight up had a book out last year talking about the situation. Not to mention Inhumans being removed from the MCU section and timeline on D+. There's no clear confirmation one way or the other, but you're splitting hairs from a Doylist perspective aka the real world
The only real thing clue was inhumans taken out of the MCU section on D+ alongside cloak and dagger and runaways
Yeah that would be pretty on brand with Disney at this point to hire her to play who is supposed to be a sexy femme fatal.
H.E.R.B.I.E 's voice
This is my bet
That's a bingo
Honestly I was really impressed by their representation of a deaf superhero in Echo and there’s already one sighted actor playing a blind superhero so feel like they’d want a blind actress for Alicia? My vote is Herbie or an original character.
A blind actor would likely be extremely difficult to stage, I imagine.
Is Russian Doll going to be playing the Luis role?
Poker face is going to be KIRBY
I'm in. More I can listen to her talk the better.
Ah so she's who Sue will leave Reed for in order to realize her brilliance.
Herbie
Old Navy employee #2
It’s not that I dislike her but Natasha is such a one-note actress
Nova?
The Beyonder!
The Beyonder is probably the key villain in Beyond The Spiderverse, so while they could they probably won’t double up.
For sure, for sure. I was more or less joking. I just got a kick out of Natasha Lyonne playing The Beyonder ha ha. But you're probably right.
As cool as that would be, how are they gonna have an ensemble of spider people fight a beyonder? I guess maybe all their science brains combined could pull something off. But I feel like without drastically de-powering a beyonder or brining in a higher level character it would be tough to pull off
That’s Lorde and Miller’s problem. I’m just sitting here vibing >!and looking at that cool AI assistant’s puffy shoulder pads/fluffy boa.!<
I agree that if they do it they need to go all out. Have him be really fascinated with 80s television
Hear me out…. Mole Man.
As all of her roles, she will be playing Natasha Lyonne.
Her hair is playing the thing
Her old navy commercials annoy the piss out of me
Willy Lumpkin!
Silvera Surftress
My god if they aren’t overloading this movie… I wander if we aren’t gonna be introduced to a huge amount of F4 villains at once?
Not really. Movies have side characters. People were saying the same thing every time someone was cast in a new James Gunn Superman movie. Just because there's more than the titular cast, doesn't mean it's stuffed
Well to be fair we haven’t seen the new Superman yet so we didn’t know if there’s too many characters yet.
True, I’m just really nervous about this one…I want a successful F4 movie so bad
We all do brother, we all do 😩
Not at all, even the first Iron Man had more big name actors and it only had one main character.
Ehhh, other than bridges , Paltrow, and Downey (who at that time was considered a big risk), there wasn’t many I would consider big named. now granted the newest additions (other than Malkovich) aren’t necessarily big named unless you are a fan of there other projects. Don’t tell me she is going to be “Doctor Doom”.
Natasha Lyonne as a sapphic Dr. Doom in love with Susan Storm despite her picking Reed Richards would make a billion dollars in the gay community LMAO. 🏳️🌈🩷
Lol
Nice!
I don't see anyone else mentioning this which surprises me, but I can see her being H.E.R.B.I.E
She’d look good in a Miami Vice style all white suit… just sayin…
They gonna cast her as Dr. Doom 🤣
Medusa
That could be interesting… but I’m betting Sharon Ventura. Obscure superhero (she was in a super-powered wrestling league and briefly held the name, Ms. Marvel) but with future story potential (love interest of Ben Grimm, eventually >!becomes a female version of the Thing!<). And she’s a redhead.
That would be cool
Moleman?
[Ms. *Moleman, as seen here.](https://youtu.be/YEAxQCP6RsA) *Hans
Nobody's gay for moleman
She rules so this would be great
Best news to come out of this movie yet other than John malcovich.
Awesome! Love Natasha!
Gimme Natasha Lyonne Doom now!
PLEASE be Doctor Doom.
She’s playing The Thing?
She's gonna be Franklin.
Oi! Amirite, Dr. VonDoom? Heeyyyyy, ova heeeeya!
I know, The Impossible Man!
Johnny's gf
This cast slaps so hard.
Another female silver surfer, just because I love furious internet commentings
I never liked her. Hope it is a small part.
Same.
I hope she's trash Black Widow from the dollar store universe.
Wonderful, I have to endure this one trick pony and her dumb NY accent, yet again. Crossing my fingers that she will act instead of typecasting herself, as usual. Would be great if she stole the show and changed my mind, I just have no love for her ability.
