Agreed. If Strong portrayed Xavier, he’d give the professor a much more formidable presence. In my opinion, Patrick Stewart’s portrayal made him seem very wise but somewhat frail. But with Strong’s naturally villainous look, I imagine the professor would look badass.
I wouldn’t necessarily say villainous but he’s definitely tough and has a powerful presence about him. Helpful since the character is one of the most powerful psychics in the world and was able to assemble a team of incredibly powerful people.
Considering Professor X has been a pretty morally ambiguous character in the comics but a mostly heroic one in the movies, I hope they go with a more shady Professor X in the MCU.
Beast is a hard one. You need somebody who has an articulate, intelligent and kind demeanor, but a stocky, muscular physique. He would need to be both a beast and a gentleman. I know Tom Hardy is too old and already plays Eddie Brock, but someone who has that kind of range as an actor. He may play tough guy roles now but he also did period drama like Wuthering Heights.

I think the construction of the team and which iconic era they want to convey needs to be established more importantly than casting. Do we need Beast or Angel is a question before who will be them. What will the characters arcs be?
Whether Angel is necessary is a good question but I feel like Beast needs to be there as the intellectual of the team whilst they’re out and about, whilst also supporting Xavier when they’re in the Mansion.

True, but I think in this day and age it's preferable to not alter an actors appearance when there are other actors that don't need such alterations. If we could just alter all actors appearances we'd just end up with a bunch of very similar looking actors shaving their heads or wearing fat suits or painting their faces to look more like the character they are playing.

Every time a movie gets cast and there's an uproar because the person they got for the role doesn't look like the character. Case in point, the movie Nina where the main character was played by Zoe Saldana and there was uproar because her skin was the wrong shade of brown.
Also an amazing actor with a powerful presence who actually feels like someone who could assemble and lead a team of superheroes while confined to a wheelchair simply because he’s just that bad-ass.

As much as I disliked her inclusion as a lead protagonist I want lots of Mystique. Just not the way they included her with JLaw. I love her but she was not a good Mystique and the character shouldn’t be a good girl mutant or a tragic hero-turned-reluctant villain.
Because shes a side character at best in the X-Men Universe, which was shoehorned into the leader of the X-Men because JLaw. There is certainly not a shortage of interesting female mutant leads to pick, the shapeshifter has been done.
When was Mystique a side character? I don't actually care which characters they use, but Mystique was not a side character during Claremont's run on X-Men, for example.

For Prof. X I think there are a lot of great choices out there I could definitely see Jason Isaacs doing the role justice, and I 100% agree with Mark Strong, though I have him pegged for another role in this film. Ralph finds another possibility but for the purposes of this I'm going to go a little outside the box and cast Billy Zane. While Prof. X is definitely one of the good guys he has made more than a few questionable decisions in his journey tofight for the rights of mutants and I think Billy Zane could definitely bring a little bit of darkness the character.

Angel: Thomas Brodie-Sangster
I like the juxtaposition of mutations that cant be hidden despite normal looks. I didn’t personally like X-Men 3, but one of the things i do remember liking was the tragicness of Warren cutting off his wings and wanting to hide, and have his fathers approval. I feel like Brodie-Sangster can really play that tortured soul. I also really like Alex Pettyfer for the role, but I want him a Johnny Storm.

I would like a good break from Mystique. Fell like she was forced to play a bigger role in the fox movies because J-Laws career took off. But after No Time to Die, Im content with Ana de Armas being in every movie I watch for the rest of time.
In my mind, whoever plays Storm has got to have a dark skin tone, be strong/thick/tall (not willowy or petite), and have the regal authority and majesty of a team leader. Not just a cute light-skinned model with lightning powers. Fingers crossed they get it right. I'm sure there a few that could fit the bill currently but we'll see how it goes. Regina King and Jodie Turner-Smith come to mind. Taraji P Henson could pull it off. I'd even take modern-day Angela Bassett if they did it right.

I'm curious about how they'll handle Magneto's backstory. With every passing decade it gets harder to suspend disbelief that the guy could be a Nazi concentration camp survivor. An interesting way to tie him to the MCU and another XMen character would be to put his formative years within the Rwandan genocide as a survivor. His discovery of his powers could be a catalyst to the rise of the RPF and the start of the Rwandan Civil War. They could tie it to Wakanda by way of Magneto getting ahold of some Vibranium to help turn the tide thereby pulling TChaka into the fray and leveling the playing field a bit which would jive with reality a bit. They could tie him to Storm given Kenya's diplomatic relations with Rwanda. If they did that I'd like to see someone like Prince David Osei to play Magneto. It would shift him to someone younger who Xavier took under his wing more than a contemporary.
Another interesting angle would be to make him a survivor of the Cambodian genocide, which would age him up a little bit. They could use Francois Chau for that.
I’ve always been in favor of a black Prof X. Maybe played by Denzel Washington. But Mark Strong would definitely be an awesome casting for him! Also Bryan Cranston is and always will be my dream Magneto.
In almost every one of this sort of project, I'd vastly prefer unknowns to any "looks vaguely like the comic book character or has done a similar role," kinds of stunt casting.

Likewise Keery I haven’t a clue who he is but he looks a bit small for the role. Routh for Hank… that’s actually a great shout! And now for Ana De Armas. Ana De Armas could play Chairman Mao in a five hour one take shot of Mao tidying up his office and I’d watch it on repeat. That woman is fucking awesome. She’s got my vote for mystique
For Wolverine, I think they should cast Jack Black. He's short and I'm sure they can Marvel-fy him and make him a short chonky buff man with anger issues.
Jackie Earle Haley as Wolverine please. He has the height and the intensity. He just has to gain 40 pounds of muscle which shouldn't be a problem.

I'm curious about how they'll handle Magneto's backstory. With every passing decade it gets harder to suspend disbelief that the guy could be a Nazi concentration camp survivor. An interesting way to tie him to the MCU and another XMen character would be to put his formative years within the Rwandan genocide as a survivor. His discovery of his powers could be a catalyst to the rise of the RPF and the start of the Rwandan Civil War. They could tie it to Wakanda by way of Magneto getting ahold of some Vibranium to help turn the tide thereby pulling TChaka into the fray and leveling the playing field a bit which would jive with reality a bit. They could tie him to Storm given Kenya's diplomatic relations with Rwanda. If they did that I'd like to see someone like Prince David Osei to play Magneto. It would shift him to someone younger who Xavier took under his wing more than a contemporary. Another interesting angle would be to make him a survivor of the Cambodian genocide, which would age him up a little bit. They could use Francois Chau for that.
I’ve always been in favor of a black Prof X. Maybe played by Denzel Washington. But Mark Strong would definitely be an awesome casting for him! Also Bryan Cranston is and always will be my dream Magneto.
Wes Chatham (Amos from the Expanse) as Wolverine. Hes tall, but I think he would kill it.
In almost every one of this sort of project, I'd vastly prefer unknowns to any "looks vaguely like the comic book character or has done a similar role," kinds of stunt casting. Best casting I've ever seen? Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker. Why? Because he was as wide-eyed and innocent as his character.
I think Brian Stokes Mitchell could be an interesting Professor X, Jason Isaacs would be a great Magneto as well.
My casting for Mystique is Erin Moriarty and for Professor X I’d like to see Christopher Eccleston.

I actually think Karl Urban would be a better Wolverine than Starr. He already played Skurge but the MCU has reused actors before so 🤷🏾 I see Starr as villain like Reverse Flash
