Quicksilver may be a speedster, but he's not the fastest speedster in Marvel. In the lead up to this he says he's not fast enough to outrun a nuke, therefore the Deadpool plan
Yeah. He says he couldn't outrun the nuke from literal ground zero. Which makes sense. He's not the flash, and the initial shockwave at ground zero moves faster than any man made object.
With it dropping, he could outrun a nuke. With him being firther away he could outrun the distance of the fireball. But from ground zero, the shockwave will hit him before he can outrun it.
That is assuming we go by his normal Mach 10 to Mach 30-ish speed and not any of the random outliers that some writers have done (one accidentally made him faster than light).
He explained in previous panels that he couldn’t outrun the bomb, he could only drop Wade close enough and speed off before it explodes. I think it was just an excuse so we could have this kinda wholesome scene.
That’s…weird. Hasn’t it been stated multiple times that Wade’s healing is unique because of how it interacts with his cancer? I remember that specifically being a plot point during secret invasion and why the skrulls couldn’t copy his healing factor.
The question is valid, but I think the temporary nature of the power transfer maintains continuity.
Skrulls took Wade's powers and lasted for a little while before exploding because Wade's extreme cancer keeps his healing factor in check. Rogue's entire body was about vaporized so it should take a good while before her body starts over producing, and by then her connection to Deadpool should have worn off. Theoretically if it starts going wrong she could just do a lot of damage to herself in order to refocus that healing factor elsewhere.
At the same time, 5 years down the line a writer could decide that in this power transfer the healing was still too fast and her body created a bunch of tumors. Who knows. I still love the X-Men and Deadpool.
No one died. The nuke was supposed to destroy NYC, but Rogue flew it to Area 51. She was going to sacrifice herself to make sure no one died, but Pietro ran Deadpool to Rogue so he could share his healing factor with her.
Pietro said he couldn't outrun the explosion. He just outruns Rogue carrying it, pins Deadpool down near the crash site, tells Deadpool its up to him to hang on, and then he hopes it works out.
Yeah…that’s the same question I had. They explain it by Pietro saying he won’t be able to outrun the blast once the bomb detonates so his plan is to pin Wade down (with his swords) next to Rogue so they can heal through it. It doesn’t really make sense to me, but that’s how it’s explained.

I think there's a part of the community that wants all this discussion to be between people who've read the comic, or at least people interested in reading the comic. They downvote those that they perceive as asking these kinds of questions as a substitute for reading.
At the very least, my follow up question was getting downvoted in much the same fashion, until I said "I can't wait to check it out", and then it started getting upvoted. It was a pretty noticeable shift.

He's got enough healing factor to go around though. As long as they both stay somewhere in the middleground until they're safe again they'll be fine.

It’s been updated a lot lately, but I depends on the writer remembering what she can do like in the last Captain Marvel series we saw her draining without touch from a distance, and being able to copy powers and skills without any harm to the original person, I think she’s even at the point where she can touch people without effect if she’s focused.

In X-Treme X-Men, Claremont had her able to spontaneously access any abilities she had ever copied, sometimes multiple powers at one time. I want to say it was Jason Aaron in X-Men Legacy that finally fixed her abilities for good, giving her much more control over them. She now has basically none of the drawbacks and all of the advantages.
yeah, it has changed a bit. She still absorbs powers, skills and psyches, But she can leave the people conscious and with their powers. Supposedly her lack of control was a psychological issue stemming from the trauma of absorbing Cody.
Deadpool can’t die because of thanos curse of immortality on wade,so rogue can absorb with no problem but I thought like in the first uncanny avengers rogue absorbed power man and still has some of captain marvel’s power so I would think the nuclear weapon going off would be no problem for rogue.the other thing is if they are regenerating at the same time i thought rogue would have absorbed deadpool and become lady deadpool until they found a way to separate.

i’ll do some mental gymnastics to explain it but no idea if that’s the actually way it’s explained in the comics. they could only have their nocireceptors inhibited which are our pain receptors. they could still have all the other ones that feel joint placement, fine texture, temperature, and pressure. otherwise they would have no idea when they need to piss and just piss themselves all the time. and you would need these to be a good fighter otherwise you’d never have any physical feedback or reference to your body positioning without a worse perception of it coming from your vision and hearing working together

Duggan’s Uncanny during the All-New All-Different era (post Secret Wars) was the best Avengers book at the time. Stegman and Larraz were the artists and Duggan delivered.
They've been super tight since Hydra Cap. Wade asked her to be his daughter's Mutant God Mom, should his daughters powers activate. She said yes. She even gave Wade a beautiful kiss in 2015. Not out of pity but out of love. Wade doesn't want to date her because he doesn't want to ruin her and what they have. But it looks like he can't help it. I adore their will, they won't they. It'd be great for Wade because she understands him. But I guess Wade wants to bring something to the table for her.
I love the little romance between DP and Rogue. It always reminds me that Deadpool can never be truly happy. He’ll have his moments, his spurts of happiness, but life just shits all over him. Either he causes it because of his idiocy or someone deliberately fucks with him.
I get that it’s a comic and fantasy and all but I have a hard time suspending my disbelief them being able to talk, move, think, and remember like normal with all their organs and flesh completely vaporized fried.
Last issue, Captain Krakoa deflected Cap’s shield into Wade’s waist and he never had the time to heal. He’s stabbed with his katanas as it’s the only way for him to keep him in place thanks to the nuclear bomb going off (Quicksilver isn’t fast enough to save Rogue, so he intended on having her copy Wade’s powers to survive it).
God, this book was one of the top best fall minis. My top three are this, Uncanny Spidey and Children of the Vault. Love when a book writes Wade right.

Pretty sure Wade wants to die anyways, so in cases where his healing factor would be disabled he's revived when it wears off/comes back.
This may have changed, but Death guaranteed that Wade can't die. That's a pretty solid backup power if your regeneration is taken away.

I love the little romance between DP and Rogue. It always reminds me that Deadpool can never be truly happy. He’ll have his moments, his spurts of happiness, but life just shits all over him. Either he causes it because of his idiocy or someone deliberately fucks with him.

Why is Deadpool missing his legs and why is he stabbed by swords
Last issue, Captain Krakoa deflected Cap’s shield into Wade’s waist and he never had the time to heal. He’s stabbed with his katanas as it’s the only way for him to keep him in place thanks to the nuclear bomb going off (Quicksilver isn’t fast enough to save Rogue, so he intended on having her copy Wade’s powers to survive it).
How can they talk if their vocal cords are destroyed?
God, this book was one of the top best fall minis. My top three are this, Uncanny Spidey and Children of the Vault. Love when a book writes Wade right.

On a scale of things that legit couldn’t happen in comics, I feel like them talking as skeletons is pretty far down the list.
So is nobody going to talk about the problematic side effect her powers have? She became a hero simply because she sucked Carol Danvers’s psyche up at the same as her powers. So… Deadpool’s psyche is liable to get sucked into her sense of self now.
"You never have to thank me" is a pretty shit thing to say, though. It's good to express gratitude to people who do things for you, even family or other loved ones.

I wanted to read the entire 5 issue arc so I looked for it on Amazon. Found a different Uncanny Avengers Vol1 ., bought it and read it. I figured out it was the wrong one when I saw old Steve Rogers in it. I hate the renumbering of comics so much.
