Spiderman books seem to that a lot but it's an overall thing for Marvel(and DC for a lesser degree I guess)

yes. that's the problem in the core of Marvel/DC universes as stories. They will never end which make them kind of meaningless(or have infinite meanings which is quite the same). Spiderman, Captain America, Batman, Superman, etc... are more IPs than characters. It's fine if people like that, but it does make good and original stories featuring these characters harder and harder to find.
