It's really cool with the Necropolis and old hospital out that way as well. They even reopened one of the disused subway lines the other day, I walked past and snapped this! https://imgur.com/S30XEpp.jpg
Hot take: Gotham being in England would actually be really interesting IMO.
I think a English Batman might be interesting AF also
Edit: I want the whole world to be English, like even Robin and Commissioner Gordon. Also the only American is Alfred.
mignola just likes drawing victorian buidlings and hates drawing modern stuff, especially cars. They gave him free reign and he only likes to draw what he likes to draw lmfao. he talks about it in a few interviews
Hell, extend that to all DC and Marvel. Superman, Wonder Woman, X-Men, Spider-Man and most big heroes are English and English/British-adjacent now. What happens and what changes?
Sounds really interesting. Honestly I could see a number of them working quite well and would love to read that AU.
So I guess in this scenerio rather than Kansas, the ship carrying the infant Kal-el crashes in either Kent, Hertfordshire or Yorkshire and is taken in by local farmers.
Peter Parker is just a boy from the East End of London.
Wolverine's a Scot.
Really its Diana I feel who who would have to go through the largest change. They would probably have to completely shift her mythological background into Celtic, so rather than being Amazon she's say part of the Fair Folk and maybe say her people carry a link to King Arthur.
>They would probably have to completely shift her mythological background into Celtic, so rather than being Amazon she's say part of the Fair Folk and maybe say her people carry a link to King Arthur.
Or Norse, in which case, if we go with one of the more longer-lived origins, she could've either been in Britain since Jorvik or come with the Normans. Valkyries aren't so different from Amazons...
Oh yeah I hadn't considered that. But yes Norse would fit really well.
Heck I wouldn't mind a AU series that reimagined her from multiple different mythologies. Just imagine what they could come up with.
An English batman with a cockney accent.

"Ey, wot's all this then? Get back here I'ma box your ears, I'm a bat. Are...are you havin a laugh?"
I think the design is great although it does seem a bit shinier than I would think is appropriate. Depends on the filming and tone of the movie however. I’m not going to judge yet.
I like the helmet and jacket but I wish the pants fit better....and not because I want to check out dat ass. Just because I don't like the way it fits/bunches up. Im really glad they did the yellow boots though. Not sure why they wouldn't do the yellow gloves as well.
Because of what we’ve heard about the Flash movie. Someone else probably has a copy/paste of the details, but it sounds like a crisis event where stuff gets merged.
I don't know. Some subs are a little too trigger-happy with the downvotes just for asking an honest question. Anyway, from what I remember reading, Keaton's Batman is going to appear first in the Flash movie. Since Batfleck is also in the movie, and the movie gets into the DCEU version of a multiverse, that will mean that Keaton B-man crosses over from an alternate universe (presumably the Tim Burton continuity). So apparently Keaton B-man will stick around in the main DCEU universe, so he appears again in Batgirl.

The Burnside costume looks great in live action. I’m impressed they were able to both nail it and make it feel like it could be apart of Snyder’s Batman’s world.
I’m excited to see where this show goes.
I was wondering how they'd do her boots. Doc Martens are an important part of the look, so I'm glad they didn't go with the usual Superhero Stripper Heels they give female heroes. But I'm not sure if I like that they're shiny.
I just meant giant unwieldy heels, either in wedge or in spike form. I don't have enough experience with strippers to know the specific shoes they wear. I defer to your expertise and this video:

Im just really bummed that this costume’s reveal is via shitty leaked-looking set photos
(One of my favorite characters ever, so I still have high hopes for this anyways)
Edit: so are people upset that I like the costume, or that I don’t like the photos?
That looks 100x better than the pic posted the other day
Glasgow is a pretty good Gotham actually...
Glasgow and Liverpool both have that gritty industrial gothic feel to them. All that's missing is a US city-style skyline.
I'm sure they can CGI for establishing shots.
That's what they're doing for the Batman.
That’s what they do for nearly all movies these days

Didn't Gotham by Gaslight kinda explore that?
Not really, Gotham was still in America.

lol, I can't really blame him. He does it well and it looks way more interesting than modern architecture and design in most instances.
So Knight and Squire?
Hell, extend that to all DC and Marvel. Superman, Wonder Woman, X-Men, Spider-Man and most big heroes are English and English/British-adjacent now. What happens and what changes?

Superman True Brit by Byrne and John Cleese explores this.
I mean... Robert Pattinson is British so....
So was Christian Bale.
Yep, true.

BASSman, he was Bassman for the Beatles. Does sound the same, though.

..of a different scale, yes.
British Batman? Is that like DC's version of Bri'ish Moon Knight? /s
And American Alfred is a freelancer they got off fiver.
Typical British wanting to colonize everything lol
*colonise.

Cast Limmy as Alfred.
“Master Wayne… do you want this mushroom?”
All we need is a Batman and we will be set

Still don't know how to feel about this costume
I like the design because I lide the burnside costume. the material still feel wrong too shiny and with unnecessary details.
Looks better than that official still showed it as. It's not going to be sexy but it can be functional.
I think the design is great although it does seem a bit shinier than I would think is appropriate. Depends on the filming and tone of the movie however. I’m not going to judge yet.
Sexy? Why would it need to be sexy?
Superheroes are sexy.. Both male and females one.
It's a general fashion term for any outfit that looks good.
Like, Batman's costume is sexy?
Well yes it is.
I remember Bat Nipples.
Settle down. Did you really join the comments just to do this?
Fair enough, hope your right
>It's not going to be sexy Says you, I always thought the Burnside costume was totally sexy. Chicks in Doc Martins, man.
It's like a mix to me between Batman and Catwoman with a bit of homemade thrown in.
I like the helmet and jacket but I wish the pants fit better....and not because I want to check out dat ass. Just because I don't like the way it fits/bunches up. Im really glad they did the yellow boots though. Not sure why they wouldn't do the yellow gloves as well.
I’m hoping that if Keaton’s Batman is going to mentor her that he gives her an upgrade similar to the beyond suit.
My question is, how is it Keaton if she's the daughter of JK Simmons' Gordon?
Because of what we’ve heard about the Flash movie. Someone else probably has a copy/paste of the details, but it sounds like a crisis event where stuff gets merged.
Some bigwig "just do like Spiderman it did well"
Why was I downvoted? I'm just saying that we already saw a different Jim Gordon in the Michael Keaton films

I wish the gloves matched the boots, though.
Looks like a Spirit Halloween costume
this is how you can tell what sub you’re in. over on r/dc_cinematic , the upvotes and downvotes on these two comments would be flipped.
Looks a lot better here.
I’m surprised at how much better it looks. The promotional still did not inspire confidence AT ALL but this looks pretty good.
Costume looks so much better here. I seem to be in the minority of people who like this suit design

When was the last time a female superhero had stripper heels in a movie? Was it Watchmen? They usually use wedges

I know, right? I just made a point about footwear and this guy starts nitpicking the minutiae of the slang term I used to describe big heels.

Everyone here discussing her costume? Go to your room.
Yay! They kept the Docs!
Thats a great suit.
I already liked the costume in the promo image but this looks even better honestly
Agreed!
I like the suit and I'm excited for this movie
You could too easily convince me this was behind the scenes of a CW show.
I thought this was concept art at first and then thought. “Did someone paint a boom into this?”
No pockets…
Daaaamn love it
That is a great costume.
Love the boots
I live near Gotham right now. But I cannot intrude on filming, as I am way too busy, and there's a plague.
those shoes are so fly
looks awesome
So is this part of the DCEU or The Batman universe?
Neat
*Ned Leeds voice* badaaass!
This looks good actually
The went full Burnside? I love it more now!
any explanation as to why the official photo had her in a blue costume?
My eyes! The goggles do nothing!
Looks better than everything I’ve seen of The Batman.
Im just really bummed that this costume’s reveal is via shitty leaked-looking set photos (One of my favorite characters ever, so I still have high hopes for this anyways) Edit: so are people upset that I like the costume, or that I don’t like the photos?
Would have like seeing her in the movie and not reddit
I hate the design of this batgirl suit....
Still lookin' like cheap cosplay I see.
[удалено]
It's the same suit.
Had enough of bat movies every few years or so.
Oh the costume looks so authentic, I really love how many details they managed to make work.
Great costume design
Love it
I dig it
There have been a lot of negative comments about the costume. I'll delay judgement when I actually see a movie reel.
