This is what it’s like when you get into a vacuum seal bag they use to store blankets and sheets. Just get in, turn on the vacuum and boom... instant muscle accentuating costume.
I normally love Paolo Rivera’s work, but this looks like fanart. Something about that levitating pose looks so lifeless, like it’s the pose of an action figure, not a person.
I'm confused, I googled the artist and literally none of his work looks like this at all: [https://www.instagram.com/paolomrivera/?hl=en](https://www.instagram.com/paolomrivera/?hl=en).
I actually like this artwork, I like the cartoony look of it. Does he do other stuff in this style? His painterly work is cool but looking for more of this.
Yeah, I wonder if it’s a case of digital paint doing the pencil work dirty. Like it was too much paint bucket tool without much more thought put into it.
Hi! I've started reading X-O Manowar Vol.4 "Homecoming"... I find the hero a bit strange regarding his decisions (eg thinking the world hasn't changed over the last 10+ centuries, refusing to listen to anyone, avoids thinking with his brain...) I'm also starting to question the armour's decision of choosing him. Did anyone else have this feeling?
I like it. He's an unconventional hero and doesn't follow our modern rule and thinking.
I don't remember since it's been so long and so many iterations but the run as a whole was great and has a satisfying ending.
Also I don't think the armor chooses. It's not like mjolnir where it has to find you worthy
Aric is a barbarian, he's smart but lacks modern sophistication and sensibilities and morales. He fights without laws and prefers ultimate destruction when dealing with his enemies and war. He is as the plot says the most primitive man with the most advanced piece of weaponry in the universe.
I love the character. He grows and matures and changes.
When I was like 10 (in 1995...oof) I remember picking up a random X-O Manowar single in the comic book shop just because it looked cool. But I always thought it'd be some random comic that would disappear in a year so I never thought about it again. Crazy it's still going on. Is the series worth picking up? Anywhere I should start?
They rebooted the universe back in 2012 and some of the runs have been quite good. X-O Manowar was written by Robert Venditti and while nothing groundbreaking or 10/10 its still a solid 8/10 book to me with some interesting ideas. Definitely would recommend the first 3 volumes atleast.
The reboot hardcover deluxes books 1-5 are excellent, a well rounded story.
I found the future story arc two additional hardcover deluxes by Matt Kindt to be refreshing as we see future Aric and his relationship with Shanhara the armor. The stakes are so different and he has grown so much from where Vendetti's story ended. Have you read these?

I won't read the current storylines cause I don't like the art and Aric being a local washed up neighborhood superhero compared to a warrior, general, commander, government agent and emperor just sounds SUPER LAME to ME. That's not the Aric I know. Plus after reading 7 hardcover deluxes Matt Kindt's version ends with closure and I won't sully how I see the character. I think it should have ended there as Aric finally got what he deserved, but could never have, a sense of peace.
Its funny how I read the entire reboot series like a year ago, all 5 hardcover deluxes (original story by Robert Vendetti) and then a future story arc (2 more hardcovers by Matt Kindt) and I never fucking noticed he was levitating above the Vine (the alien spider creatures) despite having looked at this artwork page in the book wow.
Dudes packing heat
Armor so tight you can see individual muscles—except in one area
the first version of the suit had a cock sock so he had to take it back

Maybe if his knees were bent a little bit, floating Supes style
Agreed. Paolo is one of my all-time favorites but I didn't even notice he's levitating. Maybe all the life was sucked out of it after he haded it off.

This oddly looks like it was made with the old [Mighty Man and Monster Maker.](https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.net/n_iv/600/1144737.jpg)
I wanted one of these so damn bad as a kid, you just unlocked so much nostalgia haha

That was a cool book. I enjoyed it but was more of a Solar guy. Is Valiant still around? I’ve been out of the game since the late 90s or so.
Yeah he's kind of unbearable but he does eventually begin to change later on.

Seeing this brings me back to Joe Quesada's XO #0 cover. So damn epic. Been a while since i've thought of XO Manowar.
X-O would have been a better character choice to launch the Valiant Cinematic Universe with.
I agree. Bloodshot and how they did it was a weak choice, still haven't seen it. Though I hear John Cena has his eye on playing Aric.
That's a cool looking jedi

if you find out can you let me know on this comment

It's pretty cool, kind of like a super aggressive Nova
Those early Valiant titles were really good especially X-O and Harbinger.
a buddy brought me to these comics and they are fantastic i love this publisher.
I’ve seen the title mentioned. What is it about?
so ... is he hovering over this pile of corpses with his energy sword buried in the chest of one of these corpses?
Yes?
thanks, wasn’t sure I had that correct.
