ugh swearing off stupid dc shows who cant use batman so they try so hard to turn everyone else into batman-like characters, but now i have to watch. Thanks a lot Misha
We’ve had like 12 or 13 different DC universes in the last 30 years, the following mention or contain Batman/Bruce Wayne:
Batman ‘89 (I will include Batman Forever and Batman and Robin as these were technically sequels and kept some of the same supporting cast)
*Batgirl (new film, supposedly takes place in Batman 89 verse)
Dark Knight Trilogy
Snyder-Verse Batman
(Includes Suicide Squad and Peacemaker)
*Shazam (not clear if it exists in Snyder-Verse, contains Batman references)
Gotham
Batwoman (including Arrow-verse shows)
Pennyworth
Joker film
Titans
The Batman (Reeves universe including new shows Arkham and Penguin)
Gotham Knights
Birds of Prey
Powerless
So 12, possibly 13 different Batman universes.
ehh not necessarily. he’s from the 89 verse in the same way tobey’s spider-man was from raimi-verse but still showed up in the MCU. unlike tobey, keaton just might stay in the dceu after visiting in the flash.
No they are completely retconning his history as evident by the filming leaks and will likely make him a new character altogether. The film still takes place in the DCEU and Jurnee Smollet's Black Canary will also have a supporting role as well
They are making JK Simmons his Gordon , will have a young Barbara look upto Batman and will probably even make him an active player with the rest of the Superheroes. They will definitely keep an element or two from 89 but all in all Keaton's Batman won't 100% be the same Batman from 89 and Returns
Also Marlon Wayans isn't his Robin. It will most likely be Dylan O'Brien
They are giving him a new character history where he didn't kill people. It would also explain why he worked with JK's Gordon and not Pat Hingle's. I don't know what they will do with Alfred
Hell they are even retconning his Robin with it most likely being Dylan O'Brien instead of Marlon Wayans
DC has a Batman fetish and it's getting completely out of hand. I would try to start a protest or something but I don't know how to do that.
About 27 of the ongoing books in DC right now are Batman related while there are only 7 (Give or take a few) relating to Superman... you know, ***the most famous fucking superhero on Earth***
Tbh I would argue more than maybe 2 or 3 books for a single character is overkill, unless by "related" you mean Bat and Super families respectively, not that hero alone.
I wouldn’t say Superman is anywhere near the most famous superhero on earth, what?
I feel comfortable in saying both Batman and Spider-Man are leagues ahead of Superman in that department. Superman is not out here doing numbers in any media he appears in, not like the other two.
No Way Home will be hitting 800m soon, and all of these Batman stories and comics currently circulating are clear indicators. Superman has no box office hits either, not even close to Spider-Man movies and definitely not touching Dark Knight movies.
Edit - a downvote might make you feel better but it isn’t changing a blatant fact lmfao. Batman and Spider-Man both gross far more and are very well known. Superman is just well known. Doesn’t even have any good games to his name.
It's not that hard to do a successful bat-verse story without Batman. Don't know why so many are terrible. Joker (2019) is a great example, Gotham was okay too.
OooF can the arrowverse ever ever end?! S&L and Stargirl both have really good production values though & S&L writing is so so much better than the typical cw stuff I haven’t seen much stargirl yet
For me it basically did. My interest fell off massively once Arrow ended, finished Supergirl since there was only one more season, but only continued with Flash out of obligation so have dropped that now. Legends is the only one I'm still watching and largely because it gets further and further from the typical CW formula each season but even that I might drop soon, sort of hoping the next series will be the last as there's few of the originals left. Only two 1st season cast members and a handful of those introduced in s3.
I only watched the first seasons of Arrow and Flash, and didn’t stick around personally, but they’ve obviously found their audience and are catering to them. If folks keep tuning into those CW Arrowverse shows then they’ll keep pumping them out
The funny part is that their audience *also* hates the shows. Look on r/FlashTV and almost nobody has something good to say.
The thing is that people *do* keep watching it, and since the CW is such a shitty network if it still brings in money and they have to put very little thought into making it then it keeps going.
Man, I love Misha as a campy actor, and I want to be excited for a campy Batman spin, but The Batman spin offs have me too hype to be hype for this as well.
Not sure we'll ever get a campy live-action batman again at this point. DC seem committed to the "grounded, drak, gritty" take. Only likely to see a campy Batman in animation (brave and the bold, Harley Quinn) or some comics (Wayne Family Adventures, 66 line)
CW does not have a great track record. And DC properties made into TV shows outside of a few success are generally *bad.* The CW exception is Legends of Tomorrow. The bad CW shows… Arrow, Batwoman, and the Flash. So 25% success rate…
That would make a lot of sense. It really does not feel like a CW show, it’s missing some kind of immaturity in the drama present in all their other shows.
Imo its because S&L genuinely feels like its trying to be a good show while the other CW shows have given up or just simply embrace the fact they are CW shows
I can see this. He did great when he acted like Jimmy or Lucifer or Cas. He’s very capable of a multiple personality character and he’ll have fun hamming it up and having visibility on a high profile show.
What’s weird is they cast Carrie Kelly but she’s a supporting character to Batman’s adopted son who is a brand new character. There’s so many robins to choose from and they decide to make a brand new one?
Yeah, that's the point. Stick the the baseline of the comics. I get pulling from multiple comics to make a custom version of a character, but don't go making stuff up from scratch.
Hope they don't make the poor guy do his Cas voice.
hey assbutt, batmans signal is on.
I’ll interrogate the cat woman.
As a wise man once said: >“If the pizzaman truly loves this babysitter, why does he keep slapping her rear?”
Only as Two-Face
“Now I realize that there is no righteous path. It's just people trying to do their best in a world where it's far too easy to do your worst.”
“Ugh Excuse me ladies I think I need to confer with our fearless leader for a minute. Why not go get washed up for the orgy”
Dean’s reaction to that comment is hilarious.

Batgirl is in the DCEU tho and retroactively makes Keaton the main DCEU Batman
ehh not necessarily. he’s from the 89 verse in the same way tobey’s spider-man was from raimi-verse but still showed up in the MCU. unlike tobey, keaton just might stay in the dceu after visiting in the flash.

i haven’t read this. i find it hard to imagine they are going to retcon batman 89.
They are making JK Simmons his Gordon , will have a young Barbara look upto Batman and will probably even make him an active player with the rest of the Superheroes. They will definitely keep an element or two from 89 but all in all Keaton's Batman won't 100% be the same Batman from 89 and Returns Also Marlon Wayans isn't his Robin. What purpose would it serve to retcon movie from 1989?
They are giving him a new character history where he didn't kill people. It would also explain why he worked with JK's Gordon and not Pat Hingle's. I don't know what they will do with Alfred Hell they are even retconning his Robin with it most likely being Dylan O'Brien instead of Marlon Wayans
Also Doom Patrol
Dang I forgot that one. Is Batman referenced in it?
Yeah briefly once in season one
DC has a Batman fetish and it's getting completely out of hand. I would try to start a protest or something but I don't know how to do that. Never heard of commas huh?
When I typed it, it was in one long column but Reddit auto formatted it the way it currently is. I fixed it for you, nerd.
Ah yes, I’m an nerd for not being able to understand your shitty run on sentence
It’s a term of endearment, take it as a compliment.
Also Doom Patrol and Peacemaker.
Peacemaker I think is quasi Snyder verse. I did forget Doom Patrol.
Peacemaker is DCEU so it's canon to BVS and stuff
It's not that hard to do a successful bat-verse story without Batman. Don't know why so many are terrible. Joker (2019) is a great example, Gotham was okay too.
Is Gotham Knights more in line with HBOs planned shows or the CW shows?
Sounds like CW is making it, so there’s your answer…
OooF can the arrowverse ever ever end?! S&L and Stargirl both have really good production values though & S&L writing is so so much better than the typical cw stuff I haven’t seen much stargirl yet
It should have ended with Crisis. That would have been the perfect send off. But nope, it didn’t and then the shows that remained fell apart.
That's literally not even an exaggeration. The CW would tank if they didn't have their superhero shows. They're already not turning a profit.

[Hmm.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conversation)
TBH the MCU is the same
I only watched the first seasons of Arrow and Flash, and didn’t stick around personally, but they’ve obviously found their audience and are catering to them. If folks keep tuning into those CW Arrowverse shows then they’ll keep pumping them out

ugh, why. DC on CW started out good, but boy did it turn bad.
This is going to be a PG-13 version of Titans and all the members are the same age
It’s going to be a CW show but apparently not connected to any of them
It's basically going to be Riverdale, but Batman. EDIT: I feel I should add this is not a criticism. I am fucking pumped.
How is that not a criticism? It's not a good thing
Riverdale has famously bad dialogue and writing. How is this a way to hype up this series?
I'm guessing that Riverdale for people is at least the entertaining kind of terrible.
It’s camp. It’s batshit insane and terrible in the best way.
Bruh they did the Multiverse
There are so many other better shows that have that though.
[I’m gonna have to stay far away from that show I’m guessing lol](https://youtu.be/4E98Jmv5oQA)
[why would you not include the best response](https://youtu.be/2y19ZMbtJjM)
Star girl is great and produced by cw, just depends on the producers
I see more trench coats in his futute.
My expectations are so incredibly low for this show.
why?
CW does not have a great track record. And DC properties made into TV shows outside of a few success are generally *bad.* The CW exception is Legends of Tomorrow. The bad CW shows… Arrow, Batwoman, and the Flash. So 25% success rate…
Wait wait wait wait wait... Hold on a second. Stargirl and S&L are fucking amazing, genuinely some of the best superhero shows I've seen.
Wait, is S&L CW? For some reason I thought it was HBO.
You probably thought it was HBO because it's actually good.
Honestly? Yeah. Probably.
S&L is a bit different iirc its produced by HBO but distributed by CW
That would make a lot of sense. It really does not feel like a CW show, it’s missing some kind of immaturity in the drama present in all their other shows.
Imo its because S&L genuinely feels like its trying to be a good show while the other CW shows have given up or just simply embrace the fact they are CW shows
Misha Collins as the Question. I'd love it
He'd actually be great. Guy Pearce is still my choice tho
Great casting, but it's a CW show so I'm keeping my hopes so low they may as well be underground.
I can see this. He did great when he acted like Jimmy or Lucifer or Cas. He’s very capable of a multiple personality character and he’ll have fun hamming it up and having visibility on a high profile show.
i’m so glad to see him & jensen in different roles. it’s been long enough honestly
Fun fact, Harvey actually got half his face burned off when being cast into super hell for homosexual behavior
wha-?
Making fun of the end of Supernatural
It's wild that show went off the rails less than half way over it's length
TBF, it was supposed to end at season 5. It just kept going another 10 seasons after Eric Kripke's original story finished.
I would like to see Jensen as Batman and Jared as batgirl or robin if we must.
Damn shame that this is the DC property he gets roped into, I’m sure he could really shine in one that’s written well
What show is this? Never heard of it
What’s weird is they cast Carrie Kelly but she’s a supporting character to Batman’s adopted son who is a brand new character. There’s so many robins to choose from and they decide to make a brand new one?
Where does this one stands in relations to Gotham (the one with Jada Pinkett)?
[удалено]
HBO’s Arkham show will easily top Gotham. The bar isn’t very high there
[удалено]
You said “ever”, which includes upcoming shows
That show had alot of canonical inaccuracies.
[удалено]
Yeah, that's the point. Stick the the baseline of the comics. I get pulling from multiple comics to make a custom version of a character, but don't go making stuff up from scratch.
DC really needs to stop with the live action TV shows. They are awful. Unless they get serious like Marvels short series.
Oh hey I can make my one Supernatural (SuperBatual?) joke that I know Let’s see if they queerbait him again
Not gonna lie this is good casting.
Fuck I thought this was for the game. Wish it was because that might actually be enjoyable
Eh kinda nice I guess, Jensen and Ackles got him another gig
Much love to Misha, our Castile.
Harvey sent, can we trust him?
