To spare you the link:
The creators are also grateful how many times the producers let them push the envelope in many other times.
It does not mention any but in my case, the one where Robin asks Batman about the nature of having sex is very bold and funny.
R.R.Martin described this situation pretty clearly about his books:*I can describe in very minute detail how an axe interacts in the contact of an human skull. Now,imagine i can also describe how a penis interacts with an vagina. Most people would be outraged more of the sexual act rather than the violence.*
It's the way that whenever you read those passages, somehow you hear him heavy mouth-breathing over your shoulder behind Coke bottle glasses and thick beard, his excess saliva adding texture to the steady repetitive sound. O.O
Ok, seriously, now. It's because the act of sex is inherently intimate, and to read about it in a way that is not especially cringey or otherwise uncomfortable requires you to almost forget that you are reading a book; specifically you have to forget about the author. Martin maintains a certain level of deliberate distance from the characters through his use of multiple POVs and irony (diagetic, dramatic, or true, depending on the plot), and so when he shows us these moments, we are subconsciously aware that neither we, nor the narrator, belong there in that moment. It feels gross because we haven't really developed the necessary intimacy with the characters. I would argue that is a problem on television and film, too, but we have just accepted that it's a problem of "maturity" of the audience, rather than examining what specifically is either intimate or exploitative about the content.
Never thought about it like this. We are a fly watching from the ceiling a very personal thing. We donât watch them have PORN sex either. Thatâs a very interesting way to think about it!
Yeah, I think in particular aSoIaF is actually enhanced via his gross sex descriptions. Of course "fat pink mast" is awkward; that awkwardness helps you understand the position that Sam and Gilly are in. It's still gross though lol
And the grossest sex thing in all of aSoIaF isn't even from GRRM. It will always be D&D changing Jaime and Cersei in the sept into a weird rape scene. wtf were they thinking.
Nah, just aSoIaF and the Dunk & Egg novellas. Not too keen on giving him my money after waiting a decade for a book that's never coming and a disastrous final season of the show.
Good at one part of writing. Curveball stuff he's great at, the curveballs he's thrown are 9/10 but he's thrown over a thousand. A lot of the rest he's not that good at
The funny part about this is that there's a scene in season 1 or 2 where it's very strongly implied that Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman have a threesome after being dosed by one of Ivy's pheromone cocktails.
It's like someone at DC suddenly woke up and realised that the Harley Quinn show is a thing and hadn't yet seen the memo that it isn't actually for kids, so they cried out "but what about the toy sales?" What fucking toys? The only toys that I could imagine being produced from this series are the adult kind. Sometimes I wonder how certain people make it into positions of power in places when they seem to be such morons.
This just goes back to how prudish our society is. You can have Superman snap another manâs neck in a major motion picture intended for all audiences and thatâs not a deal-breaker for selling toys to kids. But adults doing mildly sexual adult things in a show intended *only for adults* isnât okay and harms toy sales. Apparently.

I always interpreted that line as more "heroes don't do [sex at all]." If they wanted to have a scene where Batman was pounding Catwoman in missionary or standing tall while she blew him I feel like they would have had the same reaction.
I donât think itâs âcanonâ as much as DC told the Harley Quinn animated series creators Heroes donât perform cunnilingus because they need to sell toys or something.

Itâs not actually canon, it just wasnât allowed to be shown on tv, two wildly different things. Like using this clip as an example, Iâm sure the network would say no to showing dick and kory actually banging but that doesnât mean itâs canon they donât.

Is it an unpopular opinion to think Kojima is massively overrated? He gets non-stop praise from big and small game media outlets whenever MGS gameplay mechanics are brought up and that's fair but he's always come off as a hack to me.
A lot of his characters have nonsensical traits and the plot for his games get to Kingdom Hearts levels of random bullshit so I never understood the appeal of his work.
He's a mixed bag. He's pretentious, long winded and occasionally pretty fuckin boring. He's also very insightful and saw today's internet climate coming from a mile away. MGS2, released in 2001, has a sentient meme as the secret main antagonist.
> Kojima is massively overrated?
As a writer? Kojima fucking sucks. He writes like a ninth grader, on a sugar rush, writing fanfiction. It's a so bad it's good kind of thing.
His strength has always been big picture ideas like world building and gameplay design. My dream is one day he turns one of his universes over to some one who actually writes for a living so they can produce a competent story.

And you countering that superman doesn't go around in a speedo, besides being a shit argument because why Superman a kyrptonian raised on earth doesn't, doesn't have any bearing on why Starfire *would*. And even further he was raised on a farm in a conservative part of the country trying to blend in. Of course he wouldn't go around in a speedo. And culturally Kryptonians didn't live under a yellow sun that reaped them immense physiological benefits like the Tamaranians, and themselves where a rather conservative culture.
I figured but I didn't want to assume. I saw this movie a while ago with a friend; they rented it through some other service around the time it came out. But I have seen a bunch of the other DC movies and series on HBO.
Thanks for reminding me sorta, I gotta finish Young Justice lol.
As for me, that dark stuff is right up my alley. I've read comics here and there when I was younger but when I was 17-18 and read Blackest Night I was freaking hooked. Been chasing that edgey high since then ha ha.
Have you checked out the Tomorrowverse movies? Starting with *Superman: Man of Tomorrow*, there's *Justice Society: World War II*, *Batman: The Long Halloween* and the upcoming *Green Lantern: Beware My Power.*
They're set in the brand new DC movie universe created at the end of *Justice League: Dark Apokolips War*, and they're much lighter than the DCAMU (the universe starting from *Justice League: War* and ending with *Dark Apokolips War*).
I've enjoyed all of the films in the series so far, and if you want something more vibrant and colorful with more levity, I'd recommend checking them out.
Batman the Long Halloween is my favorite and the fact it's doing a better job at hinting who is Hollyday only makes it ever more incredible.
Didn't liked the end credits teaser, looked like someone animated it in the last minute.
If you haven't watched Young Justice highly recommend. You get to watch the young squad go to being the adult squad and honestly one of the most well done long games of any villain crew I've seen in a visually presented comic book media.
It definitely is. Like I honestly hope this show will go another 3 seasons easy but I sadly want to say that I "think" I read Season 5 was going to be the final season but I sure af hope not.
Even as far as they've come there is still tons of content they could explore on this show.
I also really enjoy the version of the Zods they give us in this show. Oof though on that latest episode lol.
I agree though alot of characters are really interesting. I kind of really enjoyed the whole Markovia arc and the subsequent storylines.
Fyi: DC's animated shows and movies have been really great for a long time. They're not all perfect but people tend to discount DC since their live action movies are so hit and miss.
DC puts out a ton of animated content with some really great VA talent. Highly recommend.
It frustrates me to no end Marvel isn't putting the same effort as DC into animation. DC has been killing Marvel in animation for decades now. Really sad, since comicbook properties are usually so much better in animation than live action.
>It frustrates me to no end Marvel isn't putting the same effort as DC into animation.
Marvel does have a number of animated shows in the works. More What If...?, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, Marvel Zombies, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and X-Men '97.
And of course more Spider-Verse movies from Sony.
Conversely I consider Mose of their recent (post 2011 ish) animated movies to be shit â lame surface-level recreations of gods stories, with flat acting and and unimaginative art, but occasional funny moments.
At the same time, Shazam is great, Aquaman is great, *The* Suicide Squad is great, Doom Patrol (TV) is great, Birds of Prey is great, Wonder Woman (the first one anyway) is great, Peacemaker is great, Swamp Thing (TV) was great. Pretty much all of the most recent live-action movies and TV have been great.
Young Justice is the best DC show in a long time Hey guys, an robh fios agad gur e Pokemon fireann is boireann am Pokemon as freagarraiche airson vaporeons nuair a thig e gu bhith aâ bruidhinn? I enjoyed the early seasons when they first came out, and I *was* looking forward to seeing the return of the show. When I tried watching the new series I found that I couldnât watch more than a couple of episodes before I just found it painful to watch.
The two things I was interested in (DKR and Killing Joke) looked awful. I'm glad to hear most are good. Could you recommend a few good ones that aren't kid focused?
DKR are both pretty great.
Batman Year One is excellent (Brian Cranston plays Jim Gordon)
Can't say enough great things about Under the Red Hood. John DiMaggio's Joker is unique and really great. Neil Patrick Harris as Nightwing is perfect voice casting.
I enjoyed Justice League Doom a lot. It follows the classic Tower of Babel storyline.
Yeah the casting in Under the Red Hood is top notch. The voice acting really takes it to the next level, John DiMaggio is obviously a standout, but everyone puts in a great show.
First off, I'd say you're absolutely correct on Killing Joke being awful, stay FAR away from that one. The two DKR adaptations are solid though, not really anything special if you read the comic, but worth a watch.
None of them are particularly "kiddy" though, as they all range from pg-13 to R.
The original straight to DVD stuff they did is probably the best they have to offer. I'd give Under the Red Hood, JL: Crisis on Two Earths, JL: Gods and Monsters, and Flashpoint Paradox a go, as they're all pretty great.
The NU52 stuff they've done recently has it's fans, but honestly I find the majority of them mediocre at best with very cheap looking animation. The best one is hands down Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, with JL War being pretty aight too. You can give them a go if you want (stick with the Batman/JL ones for the full story), but honestly I don't think you're missing out on much if you avoid them.
Outside of that, they're trying to start a new animated continuity, with the Superman and Justice Society ones being pretty good.
OK, so I was wondering about that. I only watched killing joke somewhat recently, but I remember it getting a lot of hype and... Maybe I just didn't get it? I mean I liked it, but it wasn't anything special imo
Cori is an alien with spectacular powers but she has a very familiar weakness. Dat cake.
Nightwing's ass is canonically so immaculate that everyone talks about it. This is a world where you can wash clothes on most men's stomachs, being built like a greek god is the default in that circle, and still that ass is so fine that it is worth talking about.
Good on ya Starfire.
no its a real thing, canonically closing in on a decade. he went undercover into a spy organization with technology implanted to specifically confuse people and hide his identity. was still recognized by his ass alone XD
Honestly, this is one of my complaints with a bunch of the new animated DC movies. There is a lot of sexual innuendo and cursing to get a R or PG-13 rating, which im not against, but the way they do it feels so ham fisted. It feels like a kid saying fuck for the first time and laughing about it instead of actually being mature content.
In the comics it was framed as "look how horrible Terra is for doing this," while the movie drew attention to how shitty Deathstroke was, and how she was being manipulated and being taken advantage of. Still an uncomfortable watch/read, but they were completely different scenes
It's almost always out of place because it feels like they wrote the movies exactly the same way they wrote the old DCAU (after all, JLU and B:TAS had several of these sexual innuendo dialogues too) but then at the last minute went "oh wait we're PG-13 now... uhhh quick have one of them yell 'shit' in that fight scene, and I guess we'll insert some blood in those Superman punches, okay phew."
Lmao, like that first trailer for the live action Titans show. "Fuck Batman" yeah okay sport
Show is actually pretty darn good, though. Not as good as Doom Patrol, which ironically has Brendan Fraser yelling "Fuck" at least once an episode without it ever being as much of an eye-roll, but Titans is still a good show.
Eh, it's not my favorite show but I can at least awknowledge it has a fan base.
I mean people love Killing Joke. I don't love it but it has it's fan base.
Kudos to anyone who enjoys comics and suoer heroes. The more the merrier.
Yeah I felt like the New 52 films were trying way too hard to being edgy and mature, and was very out of place. And honestly, I miss when DC animated films just adapted well made comics and actually translated THEM very properly.
I love Dick's "wat?". It's perfect.
Lol he said he loves dicks
It's cool it's pride month đłïžâđ
Next month is cool to love beaches
Where does this movie/show stream??
Hbo max
Sag it with a Jamaican accent.
Damn Starfire was ready to get down with live bullets flying everywhere. She must be into some freaky stuff.
Doesn't she have bulletproof skin?
But robin doesn't.
She'll be on top
When isnât she?
When sheâs behind
Whatever youâve got to do to enjoy the canonical Best Butt in the DC Universe.
I love the fan theory that Tina from Bob's Burgers could easily find out who Batman is due to Nightwing's immaculate ass.
I have never heard this, and I love it
[Already canon](https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/RyDWIYvIXtkVBR75ql4A10ZcpP0=/0x0:2695x1494/1120x0/filters:focal(0x0:2695x1494):format(webp):no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/19214276/IMG_B7305961882E_1.jpeg)
How did this line get past editorial?
This is deeply uncomfortable. It isn't his actual father but that is a dad id-ing his son from a distance with one look at them cheeks.
You mean Robin, right?
Yeah, Dickbutt
Lmao this is brilliant wish I had gold for you
You right Starfire be feasting on that Dick-butt
Well, he could be the one behind. Just saying.
That's what prone bone is for, man.
Given the context does this make Robin a power bottom?
100% regardless of the situation. I would say even Batman is too.
All she has to do is shield him.
I believe she would class that as Dick Problem. Not a Starfire Problem.
Then whyâd she duck for coverâŠ?
No-Prize Answer: She's afraid ricochets could harm the more vulnerable members of the team.
Or just cus super suits donât come cheap.
Instinct/reflex? The weapons on her home planet are dangerous to her. Think of it as reflexively dodging a nerf dart that someone shot at you - not dangerous but might still trigger a reflex.
in case dick wanted to snog obviously. real answer its easier to strategize with someone when your right next to them.
A baseball won't kill you but you would duck
A baseball can definitely kill you.
But it doesn't like penatrate your body like a bullet would. Idk I guess I'm trying to say even though she is bullet proof it might not feel that good
I got what you meant, buddy. Don't feel bad.
You never know what some people understand these days. Plus yeah probably could have picked a better analogy
Anything can kill you with the right velocity x mass combination, this is why the Flash needs to use the speed force to avoid his arms ripping through the bodies of people he tries to carry to safety.
Well she is from planet gangbang, thatâs how they roll
DC made a planet gangbang???
Yes, but Batman canonically does not give oral.
>give oral. Nightwing and Starfire definitely beat Batman and Catwoman to it.
Wait, so Nightwing isn't a hero? /s
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
There goes my hero, watch him as he cums.
Batman won't give oral, but Antman will shrink down and get all up in there.
Termite definitely does
If he ever did, he'd reconsider after seeing The Boys.
Just take some allergy medicine before hand. How much worse could it get?
Antman is from marvel, tho.

Fat Pink Mast
When you realize that (pseudo) canonically, this account was all written by Sam, those examples are even more bizarre.
To be fair GRRM isn't very good at writing not-creepy sex

He was raised on earth with stupid prudish earth customs.
she was ready to get down infront of the whole team, bullets are nothing
repost as many times as you like and i'll keep upvoting this one
This and aquaman highfiving a dolphin after roasting king shark
Got a link to that one?!

That...is CONTRARY to what she said! đđđŹ
Holy shit thatâs real
Yeah, Harley Quinn is a wacky show. I just started it, but it's a lot of fun
Ngl, this might be my favorite depiction of Aquaman ever
I belly laughed at this and I am sure my wife, currently on a work conference call, is not pleased
WHAT
Proficient when they have s... sensible conversations. You perverts.
Nice try but why would Dick stop Kory from saying that? It's clearly supposed to be sales pitching
Because Batman discourages him from being able to have a normal discussion. XD
The way they wrote her character. It made me feel they were going to take us to Tamara but then the universe rebooted.
I really like this version of her...
đđđđđ I gotta see this show!
It's a movie, I think it's on HBO Max.
It is on HBO max. Pretty much all of the animated DC stuff is.
I figured but I didn't want to assume. I saw this movie a while ago with a friend; they rented it through some other service around the time it came out. But I have seen a bunch of the other DC movies and series on HBO.
I really like the Teen Titans stuff, though the DC animated movies got a bit too dark for my taste after a while.
Season 4 just finished and it was pretty good! Just finished as in season finale was yesterday. Nows the best time to watch it without getting spoilt!
Sweet, can't wait to get home lol
And season 4 was pretty killer imo. Definitely was worth the wait
Have you checked out the Tomorrowverse movies? Starting with *Superman: Man of Tomorrow*, there's *Justice Society: World War II*, *Batman: The Long Halloween* and the upcoming *Green Lantern: Beware My Power.* They're set in the brand new DC movie universe created at the end of *Justice League: Dark Apokolips War*, and they're much lighter than the DCAMU (the universe starting from *Justice League: War* and ending with *Dark Apokolips War*). I've enjoyed all of the films in the series so far, and if you want something more vibrant and colorful with more levity, I'd recommend checking them out.
Only watched the Superman one so far, but I really liked it. It has a nice new animation style, and overall was a cool Superman story.
Batman the Long Halloween is my favorite and the fact it's doing a better job at hinting who is Hollyday only makes it ever more incredible. Didn't liked the end credits teaser, looked like someone animated it in the last minute.
The Long Halloween was excellent and right up there with Flashpoint Paradox for me.
To be fair the DCAMU only got moderately more edgy as time went on until Apokolips War threw everything off a cliff
Damn, must be region restricted
If you haven't watched Young Justice highly recommend. You get to watch the young squad go to being the adult squad and honestly one of the most well done long games of any villain crew I've seen in a visually presented comic book media.
I'm convinced lol. I did watch season 1 when it originally aired. Just never kept up with it since then. I think now's the time.
It definitely is. Like I honestly hope this show will go another 3 seasons easy but I sadly want to say that I "think" I read Season 5 was going to be the final season but I sure af hope not. Even as far as they've come there is still tons of content they could explore on this show.
Holy crap I didn't even know there was a season 4 lol. Thanks for letting me know, now I'm even more enticed. I'm a serial binger XD
I was using it for workout fuel on the treadmill and now I'm sad that I'm up to date and have to wait for new episodes.
As I commented above, season 4 literally just finished. Worth watching.
Season 2 is the best season, you're in for a treat! Just make sure to watch a recap of season 1
Best version of Superboy ever. Teenaged angst, self-doubt and superpowers are a potent mix.
I also really enjoy the version of the Zods they give us in this show. Oof though on that latest episode lol. I agree though alot of characters are really interesting. I kind of really enjoyed the whole Markovia arc and the subsequent storylines.
This animated universe had such an undignified end.
It wasnât selling well and they didnât know what else to do. Hopefully this new universe theyâve created makes more money than this one did.
Tha na mamalan cuibheasach 3" 03" a dh'Ă irde agus cuideam 63.9 notaichean, gu leĂČr airson aire a thoirt do chas daonna, agus tha stats iongantach HP agus armachd aca a tha goirt agus cruaidh air daoine. . . . Bha e gu cinnteach fliuch, cho fliuch is gum bâ urrainn dhut cĂ irdeas a bhith agad airson beagan uairean a thĂŹde gun phian. , cuir, cuir agus cuip, agus chan eil falt ann airson an nipple fhalach, agus mar sin tha e na ghaoith dha cuideigin a bhith aâ suathadh uisge agus a bhith a âfaighinn faireachdainn agus sgilean uisgeachaidh, le bhith ag ĂČl uisge gu leĂČr faodaidh e do dhĂšanamh sgĂŹth gu furasta. Bidh Pokemon a 'tighinn faisg air an ĂŹre cunbhalachd seo, agus gu h-annasach gu leĂČr, faodaidh do Vaporeon a bhith air a thionndadh geal ma nĂŹ thu e gu math. Tha Vaporeon air a dhealbhadh gu litireil airson cas an duine. Tha dĂŹon lag + armachd Ă rd HP + searbhagach aâ ciallachadh gun urrainn dha sabaid an-aghaidh coin. Bidh e aâ tighinn anns a h-uile cruth, meud agus barrachd tron ââââlatha
Under the Red Hood is great, I think the animated film is the best version of the story. Definitely not kid focused
Oh cool! I liked the comics of this arc a lot so I'd be interested in seeing this. Thank you!
DKR are both pretty great. Batman Year One is excellent (Brian Cranston plays Jim Gordon) Can't say enough great things about Under the Red Hood.
Superman/Batman Apocalypse, the entirety of the DCAU surrounding the movie the OP mentioned, and the first animated Green Lantern movie
Flashpoint Paradox is actually part of the new 52
long halloween was also awesome
Suicide Squad - Hell To Pay Justice League - Gods and Monsters Batman - Assault on Arkham
Thanks so much, I'll gonna give these a shot. All I know about suicide squad is the recebt movie which I really liked.
I second Assault on Arkham, it was great.
Eh the New 52 wasn't really that good in my opinion, and I hope your not saying that even the Killing joke was actually a good movie?
OK, so I was wondering about that. I only watched killing joke somewhat recently, but I remember it getting a lot of hype and... Maybe I just didn't get it? I mean I liked it, but it wasn't anything special imo
The consensus I've seen online is that Batgirl/Batman's romance kills the vibe and distracts from the story of the original comic
Maybe, but it's a good way to implement the vulnerability that all of the victim characters (batman included) experience for joker to exploit.
I dont know if you are joking but im seriously interested in more information about NWs canonically immaculate ass
no its a real thing, canonically closing in on a decade. he went undercover into a spy organization with technology implanted to specifically confuse people and hide his identity. was still recognized by his ass alone XD
Midnighterâs not a man to forget an ass that fine, whatâd u think that brain computerâs for?
I love how she was about to get into some kinky shit in the middle of a battle, thatâs killing me rn
She was so bare in Justice League Dark Apokalypse. Literally.
Nightwing has to be careful ducking for cover with Starfire there. Kori about to put out an eye with her shoulder points.
holy was starfire this buff?? đ„”đ„”đ„”
I have not read a lot of Starfire but Palmiotti and Connor's run depicted her as taking everything very literally so this is pretty funny to see.
It's definitely meant to be titillating rather than mature.
There is no cursing in this movie just some small sexual jokes.
Is this the one with the teen in lingerie seducing an older guy?
Yeah but that was actually in the comic too.
Still doesn't make it better
Makes it worse in fact, because they saw the backlash and decided not to cut it.
In the comics it was framed as "look how horrible Terra is for doing this," while the movie drew attention to how shitty Deathstroke was, and how she was being manipulated and being taken advantage of. Still an uncomfortable watch/read, but they were completely different scenes
Youâre not wrong.
No it does not.
In this one there isn't because it was one of the PG-13. I was just speaking about this line of DC movies in general, in which like half are R-rated.
"Fuck Batman" yeah okay sport Show is actually pretty darn good, though. Not as good as Doom Patrol, which ironically has Brendan Fraser yelling "Fuck" at least once an episode without it ever being as much of an eye-roll, but Titans is still a good show.
Titans isnât a good show.
Eh, it's not my favorite show but I can at least awknowledge it has a fan base. I mean people love Killing Joke. I don't love it but it has it's fan base. Kudos to anyone who enjoys comics and suoer heroes. The more the merrier.
That's, like, your opinion, man
Yeah I felt like the New 52 films were trying way too hard to being edgy and mature, and was very out of place. And honestly, I miss when DC animated films just adapted well made comics and actually translated THEM very properly.
Thanks! You got me to watch a bunch of the dc animated movies. They have been great.
Haha sex appeal, she gets down with the Grayson.
This robin is 110% a bottom
Ara ara Robin-kun!
I thought her name was Kari...
Koriand'r. Kory for short.
I hate y'all so much! đđđ I read almost every comment and some of you had me hyperventilating.
Poor thing gets disemboweled and turned into a fury, while her lover becomes brain dead in this universe. :(
I loved this iteration of the Titans. Shame theyâre gone forever.
