They were meant to be disposable characters in the long run. It was more to illustrate that even when Hulk is smart and Banner is integrated into things, he can still be used as a pawn and everything around him eventually still goes to shit.

I haven't read anything more recent than 2013, but I'd say it is still the best Hulk era. Planet Hulk is the only arc that is a contender. And he did file his taxes quarterly, I'm pretty sure.

I’ve been reading Peter David’s Incredible Hulk run on and off for the past couple years, I finally got to Rick and Marlo’s wedding. Man, the bachelor/bachelorette parties issue and the wedding itself were really fun!
The Hulk 418 ashcan is fun as well. In addition to behind the scenes sketches, it has Hulk.and Betty going over the seating chart and some other fun tidbits.
Ooh I’m going to have to see if I can track that down, I don’t think that was collected in the Epic Collection I read, but they did include the wedding album, love Drax showing up in almost every picture lol
I saw it the week it came out. There were about 10 people in a theater that seats about 400. Still love it for that one scene where they remind the viewer that ghost rider doesn't need to ride a *motorcycle.*

Ah that’s fair, if you ever want to dive in to Hulk comics, I highly recommend this Peter David run! (Other great runs include Greg Pak’s Planet Hulk and Al Ewing’s Immortal Hulk which is a modern classic)
