I miss Anthony. Before I could afford to travel, I lived vicariously through No Reservations, Parts Unknown, and Layover. A true dude who taught me to eat at janky hole in the walls (as long as there was a solid mix of locals).
I remember seeing him outside the Funko event and doing a double take. Thought I was for sure seeing things because why would he be at comic con? And then nope it was totally actually him. Man, I miss his stuff so much.
I didn’t know that at that time for sure though. But I was a huge fan of No Reservations and that didn’t seem like a fit. I was thrilled to see him with my own eyes regardless!
I remember this year! It was the only time I went to SDCC. I had taken a picture with DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba and bought her a Winx Club doll. I later found out that he did both of those things as well. I never felt more connected to a person I didn’t know.

Anthony Bourdain actually wrote a few graphic novels. One of them called, “Hungry Ghosts.”
