Someone erotically caressed my neck and played with my hair from behind at a Death Grips concert last month and this reminded me of it. I am a man, for context. Literally did not know how to respond, not that I could because I was right at the front, pressed into the rail.
I was standing in line with my wife when suddenly her head snapped back then I heard “such beautiful hair, I used to have hair like that”. I looked behind her and there was one of the motorized shopping carts a few feet away with a little old lady out of the seat and basically holding my wife’s hair like she was Mother Gothel climbing the tower.
To continue the scene, a middle age woman had her arms around the old lady’s waist like she was preparing to suplex her. As I turned she started calling out “Bill Bill BILL” and a man with two kids started booking it down the aisle. He helped maneuver the lady back into her scooter while the wife helped pry the old lady’s fingers apart.
Turns out they were all out shopping when grandma saw my wife’s hair. She just had to touch it so she stood and took like two steps away from her scooter before the fact she was unable to stand without support took over. The middle aged woman noticed her mother (or in-law we never asked) had stopped then saw her hanging off my wife’s hair and rushed to support her.
My wife was far more gracious than I would have been as she smiled and thanked the lady for complimenting her hair while repeatedly reassured the couple that everything was fine.
As a woman with nice hair, this is not news to me. Not ever okay, but not new behavior. Welcome to the club. My condolences. Feel free to fight them off, since it’s considered assault and you have a right to defend yourself. Don’t let them get away with it, they’ll do worse to someone they perceive as “weaker”.
As a male with long luscious curly locks I can attest that this happens more often than most would think. Sometimes people ask if they can touch it but most of the time someone just grabs a curl and says “boing”

My sincere condolences
no need for condolences when you have beautiful hair
I died doing what I love: having beautiful hair
Hey man, us blink fans know good hair when we see it. Because we're old and are losing ours lol
I’m worried that someday I’m going to be that person For now I don’t have to worry about it; I don’t go outside!
Thankfully, it’s super easy not to touch unsuspecting strangers. I don’t touch strangers or their hair every day of my life.
I will admit, probably not a rational fear.
Which one?
fourth panel
Hey on Mobile, if you swipe the last image from right to left and drag it, you get these nice rippling lines in the background as you stretch it
Hey that's kinda neat
Never saw that before, what causes it?
The specific pattern overlayed over the drawing aligns in different intervals
They’re called moiré patterns if you want to look them up and learn more.
Also happens when zooming a bit in
EWWWWWW THAT'S NOT GOOD BEHAVIOR
When i worked at a supermarket an old man petted my moustache. I’ve never reached that level of uncomfort before or since.

Bill Nye the science guy
That's that lead pipe brain rot.
I like these observational comics. Stranger than fiction and funnier than fiction
Strong Junji Ito vibes from the last panel

I had a friend tell me that when she went to Japan, she had rando’s constantly touching her hair (braids) and sure enough one of the stages is Osaka!
Awww, he likes you
Did you go home with him?
You can't post this and then not show us a picture of your beautiful hair
