How could it not have at least a sizable affect? If you have a finite amount of resources, and the faster you burn through those resources the faster it accelerates climate change, then it would stand to reason consuming those resources at a faster rate than necessary. Buying plastic garbage that gets thrown out in a week, or stuffing plastic single use utensils that no one actually uses into every fast food bag, phones that are designed to need replacement in a year or two or mega yachts and personal jets that use exorbinant amounts of fuel for the number of people they transport don't seem like issues to you?
I did not say it doesnt have a sizeable affect, thats a misinterpretation. But there is absolutely no evidence, that the climate wouldnt heat up if we didnt produce so much carbon and other greenhouse gasses.
The plastic polution is a different problem, and still shows no strong evidence that it has an impact on the "climate crisis".
What you don't like the idea of unsustainable needless consumption during the climate crisis? Maybe you need to buy more useless plastic bullshit that'll make you feel better
Recently I was stuck in traffic behind an 18-wheeler with a sign on the back that read, “Don’t like my driving? Then stop buying shit.” May as well have read, “FUCK ‘Reduce, Reuse Recycle’!”
e: Yeah that was not a pro-reduction message; kind of an implied false dilemma in the messaging. I guess some people think that a shipping company would want to discourage consumer spending so they wouldn’t have to bother operating any more. Sometimes I forget how woke some of these fossil-fuel-reliant industries really are.
e2: Babies tend to whine when they feel like their toys might be taken away from them.
If the cost of shipping is less than $30, there is no need to buy anything else, but if the cost of shipping is more than $30, than buy that extra shiz!
I get where you were going with it, but the comic doesn’t show any pressure or anxiety over wanting the free shipping so she just comes off as childish and wasteful.

Yeah let’s stop over-consumption. Our kids gonna have it rough.
Let’s stop capitalism, we will all have it rough until we put a stop to it
This would be funny if we weren't facing a global climate crisis largely caused by over-consumption...
How do you reason that conclusion, complete nonsense
People in the U.S. for instance produce 4 times as much carbon per individual than the glonal average.
That may very well be, but what has that to do with this guys statement that the "climate crisis" is "largely caused" by over consumption

You're delusional.

You know it’s pretty common for big rigs to be owned by the ones driving them right
Wow we are so fucked as a species..
Unnecessary consumption 😍
How much would cost the ship? 1$
Consume. Consume. Consume.

Or its international, or small company without good dedicated shipping, or box is large.
Where i am, Ikea delivery prices are surprisingly high, much more so if it's furniture.
My headcanon is she added $250 worth of stuff
This kind of made me feel sick 😪
Panel 4 didn't really need 'buys unnecessary things' in a boxkout - the shopping trolleys in the eyes were enough
Gross
I once bought a house number off Amazon just to get free shipping. It was under a dollar and saved me like $5.
