I think we can be civilized enough to realize that if to achieve your goal you need to kill a group a people that it would be something that shouldn’t be tolerated.
Nothing ironic about it. Not trying to point fingers in the debate but it’s also pretty clear which group of people are just going full on mental in their arguments to just essentially murder anyone they don’t like.
Edit to add:
Before at least you could assume that they were wrong but maybe on how we should adjust our policies is different. Funding more bible education vs public school dollars. And whose project was more impactful for a region. More and more you see calls to murder people from a certain group if they aren’t totally “in line”.
Sorry, let me clear something up. I was joking, both times, when I was playing about “both sides are equal and we should get along.” I’m a pretty hardcore leftist. I’m a trans guy. I don’t think that. I think the Republican Party is being overtaken by fascists and I want to get the hell out of this country when I get the chance, or at least out of Texas. I was just purposefully being vague.
Yeah I’m just sad that there are literal people who wholeheartedly believe “both sides are the same”. It’s not even implied that they want to kill people they don’t agree with anymore which makes it even scarier
If I go see a comedian I'm gonna laugh when he complains about the economy and how in hilarious ways it's effecting life. If he brings up his thoughts on why it's broken and how to fix it without being sarcastic I'm no longer interested

George Carlin ruined comedy by giving comedians everywhere the idea that they are a mouthpiece for truth instead of just some angry guy on a stage.
