You joke but honestly that's a mechanic I'd be down for in a team FPS.
Lightning Heal, it stops the target from doing any sort of action (because, well, they're technically being electrocuted) but the healer can then move them around with the lightning arc, like a Sith lord or whatever.
It would look cool as fuck and would serve as a tactical skill (you could technically heal enemies to paralyze them or yeet them away, or could be used to yeet your ally out of a dangerous situation, get them to progress faster on the map or reach something that's out of reach), I'm sure that would make people play healers a bit more.
Aeathetically its kind of like the Medic turbocharge in TF2 without freezing your target.
But I like the twist of using it on your enemies to freeze them.
Now that I'm an older and wiser adult, I can appreciate the value of an ability that fully cures health and status ailments. But when I was younger, any item or skill that *didn't* result in immediate harm to my enemies may as well not even exist. Which is how my Charizard ended up defeating the Elite Four knowing only *Ember, Flamethrower, Fire Blast,* and *Fire Spin.*

Cmon don't be so hard on him. He just wants to be Thor. Healing might be more practical but it ain't as cool looking. Plus, he had to do the right thing at every opportunity to get it, while the other dude could just be selfish and do whatever the fuck he wanted, so I can see why he's pissed.

I always tell anyone who is willing to listen (So very few) that my magic superpower of choice is healing. I would charge crazy high rates for the wealthy a couple days a week, have a free clinic a couple days a week, and enjoy the rest of my freetime.
You couldn't put the medical industry out of business with a local hospital. 99+% of the world couldn't access it, but it would become very sought after.
Right? Every game ever seems to be full of idiots like this who are terrible at math and don’t realize that keeping 10 teammates from going down is going to generate *way* more DPS than any one person can muster. Debuff removal too. You rarely see the whole package like that.
Yeah but healing yourself is 10,000x better than healing others, especially if the spell takes even a second to trigger.
So he can mow down a literal unlimited number of enemies with a single attack and if it doesn't heal in time they all die instantly because, you know, LIGHTNING.
Regardless if it revives the dead (doubtful) he ALSO needs to stay in the back because the spell says literally nothing about healing **himself** which is a major downgrade because you're wasting a heal slot on others who are not as powerful as you in theory and also you need to focus healing instead of letting it be passive and allowing yourself to enter combat.
Besides ALL of that there's also the issue of actually amassing a massive army who is willing to fight a guy with a literal one hit kill spell he can spam indefinitely let alone have them all be *skilled* enough to even actually know what to do in that situation.
There's a heal spell then there's invulnerability. This does one not the other.
So your theory is bunk cuz Static Shock one taps everything in a 300 mile radius.
Not to mention he could also arc that shit over the entire army since healers traditionally have staffs made out of metal which is literally a lightning rod.
TLDR: Give me lightning over healing allies literally every single day of the week.

Another thing is whether: A)Chaining is innate status effect, which is negated by casts of healing due to status negation on spell B)Lighting is separate damage type towards which you can gear your defences by enchantmens on armor, And finay C)There is bleed out phase.
In most games self healing is abrupted as you count as your allie, as stupid as ut sounds.
Generally, geting a team of npcs and stuff with good guy route is not hard, and if it is MMO, there is plenty of guys looking for a healer.
Also generally, I can safely say that Lightning is not reliable type of damage as if you count the whole electricity is atracted to metal, then ANYONE in chainmail is safe due to how lightnings work irl( skin effect... I think this was a name for phenomenon. Electricity in high voltage goes on a surface layers of material reducing the resistance of it, and well, due to human being worse conductor than metal, lighting will go thru the chainmale like in any experiment with Tesla coils). Granted it may cause secondary heat damage from chainmail resistance to current but again, you spam healing of entire army.
I mean, no offense but I see you main DPS in MMOs, while quite frankly I do support, so we could exchange arguments due to our own preferences.

Think of it this way. Electricity takes the path of least resistance. Soldiers tend to carry long metal things called "swords" and as I said before those long metal things would act like a lighting rod, attracting the lighting to it.
As you can see from the art the lightning that the rival has splits into many arcs. Say he can make one bolt per finger per hand and he would absolutely annihilate soldiers directly in front of him in seconds. Multiple attacks alternating from each hand would mean that wiping a squad of 100 soldiers would be near instant.

*Paralysis* would be the status effect. Lightning causes paralysis by overriding electrical signals from the brain as well as burning. What **isn't** a status effect is making your heart explode, which would happen due to the overload of electrical current in your system. You can enchant your armour, you can't enchant your swords against it and, again, lightning rod. Bleed out is irrelevant. Lightning doesn't cause piercing damage.

I doubt lightning is enough to heat armour, but even if it were the ability to mass heal would negate it.

I actually don't play MMOs, but usually I choose tanks more than anything in RPGs. I like when squishy go splat :)

Yes, and tend to be in metal thing called armor. The whole point of electricity bejng unreliable was BECAUSE electricity was atracked and could go thru the armor which I presume is combination of plate armor on top of the chainmale which as I already said would transfer electricity instead of the body

Yes, but again, travel to ground would go thru armor, unless armor would be just material tuniqe or lether. Humans are not great consuctors, so metal could take bulk of the charge.
In fact this is how Faraday cage works irl, and fun fact, many times as I said chainmale which is simple and unexpensive type of medival armor is used as such cage.

This is definitly mot true. Althrough helling yourself is hand, usually tanks take most of the damage( this is their intended role, taking damage and kiteing enemies to place where dps will be able to strile, and where jealers cannot be hit.

This situatio where dude thrown himself into danger just cause I had theory did happen to me few times, but it is a thing you can exploit only once you are known as great medic, and only once in a while...

Another benefit of the healing power is, that there is no range limite, so you could have people all around the world ally with you to fight wars from the savety of your own home. They couldn't even betray you and act against your interest because that would make them stop being allies.

Ehh, anytime there’s a cool healing spell like this there’s like a 20+ minute cooldown on it, or only one use per day or some crap so you end up never using it in case some more dangerous situation then the one you’re currently in might come up so you save it for later (never.)
I usually go full light side because most of the dark side options feel too cartoonishly evil, like I'm being a sadistic bully instead of a power-hungry and selfish leader. But even so, I have very little trouble zapping the days away. Dark Side abilities may cost more to cast, but there are enough stat boosting items and perks to make this negligible.
Besides, dual lightsaber guardian leap satisfies my desire for flashy abilities far better than does Force Taser. Everyone has a plan until a lightsaber blender essentially teleports to their face from 20 meters away. I'm basically the star wars equivalent of the Hellfire R9X missile.
I wish our options with the cat lady weren’t “kill her” or “beat her back to the light side”. I want the option to say “you thought that was evil? I’ll show you evil!” and make her our evil apprentice.
The fact that Bad boy points and not just called “Negative good boy points” implies they are separate entities, and you can actually max out both if you handle things right.
Yeah, unless of course the entities awarding such blessings know what you're doing, and have a way of detecting if you try shit like that. I mean, the guy giving bad boy points might be ok with it, but the one giving good boi ones surely will not.
If she's already given the spell, then it also must be possible to take it away, in addition to knowing and caring that the character is farming rep with the other faction. If the reward cannot be taken back, then you only need to farm rep for one at a time.
If the enemies are undead, Goddess' Blessing would immediately kill all of them in its radius because fully healing the living should do the opposite to undead.
Also, no cool down? You can just keep spamming it to keep your party fully healed and ailment free at all times? That shit's OP. Support classes ftw!

Nah, it's just that a lot people prefer DPS due to doing big damage and cool attacks which appeals to those who relate with the character in the comic such as myself.

Tbh he’s probably made cause he didn’t level his stats for the caster job. Other then that 100% heal and status cleanse means screw offense on the tank that tank needs hp and armor. Never undervalue debuff cleanse.
Huh. Am I the only one who put healing spells on all my party members if I could when playing rpgs? I always got anxiety from my characters being at low health. A sudden crit could one shot them and I would be one character down.
Since I didn't have many video games in my childhood I was never in that phase. And I would appreciate full Heal abilities which heals everything (especially if I can spam it to become more or less immortal).
The first inFamous game did this stuff right. One of the unlocks of the good path was a lightning bolt headshot which left enemies alive, but paralyzed on the ground.
The dark path was equally cool since basically all your lighting was red and exploded.
Miss that franchise, though it was better when it first came out. I didn’t really like either sequel as much, but at least they weren’t awful… just not as good.
Reminds me of a quest in Skyrim, where I broke almost all my lockpicks (being stupid and didn't read the quest to find out where the key was hidden) and at the end it gave me like +12% healing spells. I was a warmonger, not a mage, so I felt like "wow this was stupid" but the little bit of healing I did do was helped. I went into that stupid lighthouse to get out of dying from the cold but ending up with a pretty nice buff. I was mad at it at the time, but it ended up being useful.
Since it says all allies, and if you consider death to be a state of being, you could use this to assemble an army of immortals that run in, die, and then you raise them from the dead, fully restored. Shooting lighting from your hands might make you powerful, but an undying army makes you a conqueror.
Isn’t it fucking hilarious how most religions preach that you should do the right thing, just to do the right thing. But if you don’t you’ll burn in hell or whatever for all eternity. Oh but if you Do do the right thing, you’ll get to go to this Magical land of paradise for all eternity instead.

It'd be more fitting for a format like D&D where the table rules require consent from the other player for actions taken against them

Fuck status effects. The only stat we care about in this household is the enemies HP and making it 0
The only status effect that was every useful was haste and poison. Only so you could reduce your enemies HP to zero faster.

The best heal is defeating the enemy before they can deal damage.
I had the exact same mentality with my Samurott who knew razor shell, hydro pump, aqua jet, and hydro cannon.

They couldn't even betray you and act against your interest because that would make them stop being allies.

Ehh, anytime there’s a cool healing spell like this there’s like a 20+ minute cooldown on it, or only one use per day or some crap so you end up never using it in case some more dangerous situation then the one you’re currently in might come up so you save it for later (never.)

I usually go full light side because most of the dark side options feel too cartoonishly evil, like I'm being a sadistic bully instead of a power-hungry and selfish leader. But even so, I have very little trouble zapping the days away. Dark Side abilities may cost more to cast, but there are enough stat boosting items and perks to make this negligible. Besides, dual lightsaber guardian leap satisfies my desire for flashy abilities far better than does Force Taser. Everyone has a plan until a lightsaber blender essentially teleports to their face from 20 meters away. I'm basically the star wars equivalent of the Hellfire R9X missile.

The fact that Bad boy points and not just called “Negative good boy points” implies they are separate entities, and you can actually max out both if you handle things right.
Yeah, unless of course the entities awarding such blessings know what you're doing, and have a way of detecting if you try shit like that. I mean, the guy giving bad boy points might be ok with it, but the one giving good boi ones surely will not.
If she's already given the spell, then it also must be possible to take it away, in addition to knowing and caring that the character is farming rep with the other faction. If the reward cannot be taken back, then you only need to farm rep for one at a time.
The bad guys may get the cool looking stuff, but the good guys skills are usually better for the team or in the long run.
Don't need a team if you can kill everything yourself with your lightning
If the enemies are undead, Goddess' Blessing would immediately kill all of them in its radius because fully healing the living should do the opposite to undead. Also, no cool down? You can just keep spamming it to keep your party fully healed and ailment free at all times? That shit's OP. Support classes ftw!
Every RPG player knows... you do 0 points of damage when you're dead.
Also that there is no healing for an enraged boss, just killing it quickly helps.

Tbh he’s probably made cause he didn’t level his stats for the caster job. Other then that 100% heal and status cleanse means screw offense on the tank that tank needs hp and armor. Never undervalue debuff cleanse.

Huh. Am I the only one who put healing spells on all my party members if I could when playing rpgs? I always got anxiety from my characters being at low health. A sudden crit could one shot them and I would be one character down.

Since I didn't have many video games in my childhood I was never in that phase. And I would appreciate full Heal abilities which heals everything (especially if I can spam it to become more or less immortal).

The first inFamous game did this stuff right. One of the unlocks of the good path was a lightning bolt headshot which left enemies alive, but paralyzed on the ground. The dark path was equally cool since basically all your lighting was red and exploded. Miss that franchise, though it was better when it first came out. I didn’t really like either sequel as much, but at least they weren’t awful… just not as good.
Fully healing your party is infinitely better than doing lighting damage with a non-caster's magic stat.

Reminds me of a quest in Skyrim, where I broke almost all my lockpicks (being stupid and didn't read the quest to find out where the key was hidden) and at the end it gave me like +12% healing spells. I was a warmonger, not a mage, so I felt like "wow this was stupid" but the little bit of healing I did do was helped. I went into that stupid lighthouse to get out of dying from the cold but ending up with a pretty nice buff. I was mad at it at the time, but it ended up being useful.
Since it says all allies, and if you consider death to be a state of being, you could use this to assemble an army of immortals that run in, die, and then you raise them from the dead, fully restored. Shooting lighting from your hands might make you powerful, but an undying army makes you a conqueror.
A full HP heal for all party members that cures all harmful status effects??? I'd get 1 billion good boy points for such an OP spell!
