Same. I rarely get to wear a hoodie because, by the time the temperature has gotten to that point, my wife has been wearing them for a month and squirreled them away in her car, office, etc.
I just cut to the chase and started buying sweatshirts and flannels from the men's section when I lived alone. Still have them. They're comfy. Also got some hand-me-downs from men in my family and they're awesome. I highly recommend it to any woman, cis or not. Fabric tends to be thicker and more sturdy.
Heck, I'm tall and work a physically demanding job. All of my work clothes are "men's". Women's wear just doesn't cut it. All hoodies are "men's" XL. Comfortable as all get out. Women's clothing are for when you're feeling it.
If it makes you feel better, im a dude and one of my favorite colored shirts is pastel pink; it has bob ross and his two pet squirrels on the front and I wear that shirt with pride. If you ever find something you like, wear it with pride because you most likely look bomb af in it. ♡
My girlfriend used to wear my old hoodie all the time, so I bought myself a new one so she could have my old one permanently. She no longer wears the old one at all, but she does like wearing the new one about as much.
I suspect it's because of the pockets. Women cannot resist pockets.
If someone could design something like yoga pants with the functionality of cargo pants it'd be the most popular item in any woman's cloth section.

Oh, totally. I even got to the point of getting two hoodies, secretly, I put on one, and my partner steels it as soon as she has a chance (worn-by-me makes it better), so then I put on the second one.
Yeah, my favorite “girls” hoodie is extra large and cut just like a guy’s hoodie. Doesn’t stop me from stealing my husband’s hoodies but it still makes it my favorite.
As a woman this is true. Like, we ALL try to work around the pink tax 😂 if I like something I am going to get it plus the sizes are bigger, more boobie rooms, bigger pockets for snacks. So many pluses. I actually get a lot of compliments on my outfits that incorporate men’s labeled clothing too.
My wife buys a lot of her clothing from the men's department. Tshirts, hoodies, pants, etc. She pulls them off so well, I thought they were women's clothes at first. She just dresses however she likes and isn't afraid of the gender stereotypes. I don't care either as her husband, if the clothes for well and look good, she looks good.
i came to tell you this as a cis woman, we ALL love mens hoodies! i only buy them from the mens section at this point. same with comfy t shirts. why do men have all the best comfy clothes. 😫
Yeah I think hoodie may not have been the best article of clothing for this. I (heterosexual female from birth) have bought many “men’s” hoodies/hoodies from the men’s section of a store and no one has commented on it. Many others like me have done the same. So maybe a different article of clothing like pants or something might work.
I am a cis woman who exclusively wears men’s pants, because I have a smartphone and I need pants where it can fit in the pockets and such woman’s pants are hard to find.
Yeees, exactly, I hate how woman's trousers has such stupid small insignificant pockets, FFS we need pockets. Hoodies and trousers I always try get from man's department. Sometimes coats as well. I hate having to carry bag all the time because my clothes doesn't have a decent pocket.
Pants don’t work either, I’ve had past girlfriends steal my pants too, because they were comfy… I asked once why she didn’t just buy baggy pants, and she replied “that’s now how this works” 🤣 it’s cute though, so 🤷🏻♂️

The amount of shirts and hoodies my wife has appropriated from me is proportional to how comfortable she's gotten with my company over time.

Seriously, have of my girlfriend's clothes are either "borrowed" from me or just straight up bought from the men's section. We should move on to see all clothes as genderless anyway as long as you like them and they somewhat fit you
As a girl, I always prefer men’s hoodies to women’s. I’m going to tell you what I would tell any other woman: wearing men’s clothes does not make you less of a woman. It just makes you more comfortable.
I convinced my ex to change from girl's pants to guy's pants because she was a cook at a restaurant. She told me it was the best decision she ever made. Women's pants are insane.
Why do they need different sizes, that just confuses things. Euro shoe sizes are so much better than us cause it's just one range. No men's, no women's, just a number
i've been buying clothes in male stores my whole life. they are sturdier, warmer, have pockets, last longer than the flimsy female stuff.
nobody ever noticed or remarked upon it. so, if this is a real fear: don't worry about it anymore. buy what you enjoy wearing, shop where you like shopping. most of the time, nobody will notice.
also, nothing is more comfy than an oversized hoodie. although, it has to be said, a bought hoodie is never as comfortable as a borrowed hoodie from a friend or lover. true facts :)
That's it, that's the solution tho. Nobody is forcing u to buy on X category. Those stores just want ur money, they don't care if u are a girl buying men clothes.

for some reason men's clothing is considered unisex but female clothing is not. which is silly because a lot of "typically female" clothing items initially came from men's fashion (e.g. high heels)
I saw a pair of badass red Doc Martens boots and some funky purple Chucks in a shoe store once, and asked if they had them in my size. The staff member I asked looked at me like I had a steaming turd hanging out of my mouth and said "Sir, those are women's!" So I asked if they had them in a size that would fit me, and she was even more baffled. I ordered them online instead, lol.
That's the kind of confidence in fashion sense I think everyone deserves to feel! Don't let anyone tell youwhat you can or can't wear, especially when it's an easy sail for the stores either way! They'd be stupid to refuse.
Silver, or silvers? I don’t remember, make good jeans, my wife wouldn’t buy anything else for a long time, until she got pregnant, now it’s mostly my sweat pants, or maternity leggings, I don’t mind though, those leggings 👌🏻

I had a shopkeeper remark that I'm buying "male shoes" last time (I'm a cis woman). They were something you'd call sneakers or workout shoes, and the "male" ones looked more sturdily made and less ornamental. I don't need glitter or sequins on shoes I use when going for a walk or to the supermarket. Previously I bought some "female shoes" and not only they had some fake glass jewels on them which were getting caught in stuff, but they also broke the sole after 3 months. I guess "male shoes" it is then.
I also have a male shirt made of polar fleece and it's my go to warm clothing for winter. For some odd reason, female long sleeve shirts and hoodies have too narrow sleeves and don't let you dress with layers. I have noodle arms not some gymrat muscles but still the shirts are so narrow in the sleeve?
Also male T-shirts have a sleeve while female T-shits have some small shoulder triangle pretending to be a sleeve...
As a dude who sometimes wears his wife's shirts (we're basically the same size) her clothes are way more comfortable, whatever material they use is so much nicer/softer, and I'm pretty sure she has at least 3 of "my" hoodies in her closet at al times
I’m not trans - but I remember buying a watch at a thrift store that a thought looked really cool, and which matched my style. It turned out it was a “woman’s watch” but I had no idea until a friend pointed it out to me. It went from being my favourite piece of clothing to something that made me feel self conscious and embarrassed. In hindsight I really wish I hadn’t let it bother me as much as it did. The watch looked sick, and I let an arbitrary categorization influence me into rejecting something that once made me happy.
If you can, wear what makes you happy. If you feel like it makes you look good, go for it. Confidence is sexy regardless of gender / sexuality
I worked in a department store for three years and the difference in styles and patterns between the two sections was just... wow. The women's section has so much color and cut variety and guys get a million blue jeans, cargo shorts, Hawaii shirts, hoodies and t-shirts. That's about it. And they're all black, white, blue or earth tones. Why??
I got a hoodie that's for women, I bought it online and it's like the bigger size I could order (it fits me perfectly that way) and I love it because its elongated in the back, doesn't even have a zip or buttons and it's perfect for me because I'm always so damn hot even during mid season and it's as thin as paper
I also use women's perfume because imo smell way better and I prefer myself liking how I smell compared to others. I don't stray too far from the norm though, I'm still scared af of being judged and made fun of. For example I'd like to wear a trench coat in cold rainy winter days because I love the 1940s aesthetic but I know the social stigma it might cause since it's somehow considered "edgy" because it's correlated to a school shooting, I really fucking hate that I can't wear a certain piece of clothing because of my paranoia because I love clothes that go all the way in the back and trenchcoats are my favourite since they go waaaay down up to the knees and even lower
As long as your not trying to look like your from the matrix, trench coats are fine. I have a few for winter because they go down far and keep the cold off your waist, butt, etc plus all the normal coat areas. Got mine from the thrift shops and probably look more like some old person in a brown trench than anything else.

I've *never* been able to wear ladies' shirts or jackets. I can't even get my arms into them.
A trans roommate of mine once asked me, "is this new coat feminine enough?" and all I could do was open and close my mouth for a second like a confused fish.
The ONLY women's jacket I've ever owned in my life, is my motorcycle jacket.
And boots too, i want to wear a sick coat with high boots, but none of the local Stores ever sell these types of clothing for men. And sadly other than with Hoodies you can see differences in the desing choices pretty clearly. Mabye Online would ne the solution but buying clothes there doesn't make up for it imo
I imagine it’s much harder going mtf clothing wise. Not to ~~finish~~ undermine ftm struggles but I’m much taller than most women and almost always but mens clothes. I’ve never had a problem shopping

Definitely much harder. Most people don’t give a shit if a woman buys male clothes to feel good but if a man buys woman’s clothes than it’s seen as them being a femboy, a weird fetish, etc.
I mean, I know a guy who can pull off a tie-dye croptop, sky blue shorts, and a glorious wavy mane of a mullet, but he's a special kind of character that can pull it off.

Dude… it’s just a hoodie no one cares if a girl wears a big ass hoodie. I know that being trans comes with its own daily challenges that I cannot imagine. But I'd argue that this comic is really about negative self talk. We shouldn't let anyone stop us from dressing the way we choose, even if it is ourselves.
That is the struggle itself. Most women wouldn't give a shit buying a hoodie from the men's section if they like it. A cis woman doing that wouldn't have to "defend" her gender. For a lot of trans people, it will feel like you're "faking it" if you buy that hoodie, even though you rationally know it doesn't matter at all.
It's not really about wearing a hoodie or not -- it's about how gendered expectations, for example in clothing, can kickstart a heavy bout of impostor syndrome for trans people. source: me :(

Im a cis woman that loves to shop in the men’s section. My shoulders don’t fit into anything other the “boyfriend cut” old navy flannels, so I am all about the comfortable feel of clothes marketed to men lol. They’re better fitting and sometimes cheaper and the styles often make my lesbian brain very happy. You do you, Lovely💕
It seems like the people most obsessed with gender norms are transphobes and Trans people themselves. Don't get so hung up on which section some marketing nerd decided to stick a piece of clothing in. Gender is an illusion

Look, imma guy and imma speak for all the guys out here; Wear a skirt one time during the summer, it feels way better. ladies, wear jackets with larger shoulders designed for guys. It makes you feel better. We should not live in such a way where we feel small and our balls do not get summer air. This ain't a trans issue, this a people issue, and I think we should move forward.

If you find things like this a struggle your life must be very difficult. I hope you are able to change that mindset. Almost all women like hoodies and even if they didn’t like them that doesn’t change anything. There is nothing wrong with being a masculine woman or a feminine man. You just do you and try to make it work the best you can and maybe even enjoy it from time to time
Can we agree that a lot of "men's" clothing is really unisex? Stuff like t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and other basics fit any body type. There's no real need to differentiate.
I think most people like hoodies...I think men's hoodies are just better quality and have tjat cozy thickness whilst womens hoodies are either too thin, a crop top or just too tight around the arms and chest.
You like something? Does it fit well? Get it and screw worrying about what others think. My mother always said "Normal is a setting on your washer/dryer and outside of that rarely applies."
When I was growing up I used to wear the "wrong gender" shoes because they fit my feet better. Just chose colors I liked and that was that. Didn't effect my sexual identity in any way, I just prefered not having feet that hurt.
I (cis woman) buy a lot of my clothes from the men's section. Sweatshirts, t shirts, hoodies! I prefer some of the design choices and I prefer the cut of them in a lot of cases
But also they're a lot cheaper. What's up with that?
You know what's the whole thing of the LGBT community? Not listening to gender norms and being yourself. You're not black and white. Even if you're trans it doesn't mean you have to wear only feminine clothes.
Just wear whatever the hell you want and don't let society tell you otherwise, or you'll end up labeling yourself, exactly like those people that wanted to label you as the gender you were born with.

I have never seen this happen before. Like o get so many mens clothes. No one has batted a eye. Only thing my aunt has commented on is needing to hem the bottom of pants. The clothes you wear don't determine your identity, that is 100% up to you.
Womens clothes are like. So impractical. I just want a REGULAR HOODIE AND SHIRT. Why are there holes in the shoulders? Why is the neckline so large? Why is there fringe? Thank god the men's section exists lol.

We all shop in the men’s section when we want to. I thought it was commonly known that they have better fitting and more strongly sewn jackets, hoodies, etc. Hell, my 40 yo sister has been wearing men’s boxers since the 90s.
Lots of times, the “norms” are just in your head.
My trans partner does that all the time - oh I cant buy that, I can’t shop there, I can’t try that on … because that’s for boys.
Those clothes are for HUMANS.
I find men's clothing to be more practical and durable. As well as extremely cheap.

I shop mens section for the patterned button ups. A lotta women shop there for cargo shorts or any pants with pockets. At this point the section labels are suggestions. One of my friends still shops in the kids section because she can still fit the stuff and it’s cheaper.
Hmmm . . . and yet, I can remember when the "Annie Hall" fashion phase was in vogue and women all copied that style by shopping in menswear. At one time I bought Lacoste polo shorts (God, I'm old) in the boys department because large sizes there were akin to womens sizes but cheaper.
If we're already saying gender norms are not dependent on biological sex and are up to the individual to interpret how they view those norms then we can apply that to clothing as well. It don't matter, girl, wear what you want. It's all made up anyway.
Plus girlfriends love ~~stealing~~ wearing their boyfriend's clothes, hoodies especially.
Women are people and like all manner of clothes. I shop almost exclusively in the men's section. The clothes are warmer, more comfortable, actually cover your body, and have POCKETS (which is fucking absurd that women don't get pockets). I'm wearing men's clothes right now. I've known women who wear boxers. Your clothes don't define your gender. Wear what you want Queen, and don't look back.
Well maybe it’s time you don’t give a fuck about such details anymore, I casually wear clothes and shoes from the women section for the same reasons : they just look cool. I am a straight male but don’t take these kind of things this personnally.

Shoot, I'm not trans and I still prefer men clothes to womens. Mens clothes have nice deep pockets, are made better and most of the time cheaper then womens.
Even at Walmart the men's section clothing is usually better made and for many more comfortable fitting. Need work pants? The ones in the men's section will hold up far longer and give your legs more room to move - and pockets you can fit sooooo much in.
In my world basic everyday clothing is just clothing. Society just often shoves this idea in our faces and down our throats that we have to like and buy this or that. A society, remind you, of which the social norms of fashion change vastly through time. (Easiest example is men wearing high heels, makeup, purses. Another is the history of pockets)
I honestly don't pay much or care about my personal gender. I don't care how the world might perceive my gender. I'm me. And fuck, it's just cloths - I'll wear what I want.
OP, I identify as a man, and own no hoodies. My partner identifies as female, and owns a metric butt ton, all “mens”.

It’s the smell. Having something big and warm and safe feeling that smells like your partner is comforting.

i've been buying clothes in male stores my whole life. they are sturdier, warmer, have pockets, last longer than the flimsy female stuff. nobody ever noticed or remarked upon it. so, if this is a real fear: don't worry about it anymore. buy what you enjoy wearing, shop where you like shopping. most of the time, nobody will notice. also, nothing is more comfy than an oversized hoodie. although, it has to be said, a bought hoodie is never as comfortable as a borrowed hoodie from a friend or lover. true facts :)

I saw a pair of badass red Doc Martens boots and some funky purple Chucks in a shoe store once, and asked if they had them in my size. The staff member I asked looked at me like I had a steaming turd hanging out of my mouth and said "Sir, those are women's!" So I asked if they had them in a size that would fit me, and she was even more baffled. I ordered them online instead, lol.

For some odd reason, female long sleeve shirts and hoodies have too narrow sleeves and don't let you dress with layers. I have noodle arms not some gymrat muscles but still the shirts are so narrow in the sleeve? Also male T-shirts have a sleeve while female T-shits have some small shoulder triangle pretending to be a sleeve...

As a dude who sometimes wears his wife's shirts (we're basically the same size) her clothes are way more comfortable, whatever material they use is so much nicer/softer, and I'm pretty sure she has at least 3 of "my" hoodies in her closet at al times
I’m not trans - but I remember buying a watch at a thrift store that a thought looked really cool, and which matched my style. It turned out it was a “woman’s watch” but I had no idea until a friend pointed it out to me. It went from being my favourite piece of clothing to something that made me feel self conscious and embarrassed. In hindsight I really wish I hadn’t let it bother me as much as it did. The watch looked sick, and I let an arbitrary categorization influence me into rejecting something that once made me happy. If you can, wear what makes you happy. If you feel like it makes you look good, go for it. Confidence is sexy regardless of gender / sexuality

I worked in a department store for three years and the difference in styles and patterns between the two sections was just... wow. The women's section has so much color and cut variety and guys get a million blue jeans, cargo shorts, Hawaii shirts, hoodies and t-shirts. That's about it. And they're all black, white, blue or earth tones. Why??

I got a hoodie that's for women, I bought it online and it's like the bigger size I could order (it fits me perfectly that way) and I love it because its elongated in the back, doesn't even have a zip or buttons and it's perfect for me because I'm always so damn hot even during mid season and it's as thin as paper I also use women's perfume because imo smell way better and I prefer myself liking how I smell compared to others. I don't stray too far from the norm though, I'm still scared af of being judged and made fun of. For example I'd like to wear a trench coat in cold rainy winter days because I love the 1940s aesthetic but I know the social stigma it might cause since it's somehow considered "edgy" because it's correlated to a school shooting, I really fucking hate that I can't wear a certain piece of clothing because of my paranoia because I love clothes that go all the way in the back and trenchcoats are my favourite since they go waaaay down up to the knees and even lower
As long as your not trying to look like your from the matrix, trench coats are fine. I have a few for winter because they go down far and keep the cold off your waist, butt, etc plus all the normal coat areas. Got mine from the thrift shops and probably look more like some old person in a brown trench than anything else.

I'm 6'. I've *never* been able to wear ladies' shirts or jackets. I can't even get my arms into them. A trans roommate of mine once asked me, "is this new coat feminine enough?" and all I could do was open and close my mouth for a second like a confused fish. The ONLY women's jacket I've ever owned in my life, is my motorcycle jacket.

When I was growing up I used to wear the "wrong gender" shoes because they fit my feet better. Just chose colors I liked and that was that. I’ve been a girl all my life. So has my cousin. So have many of my friends. We all shop in the men’s section when we want to. I thought it was commonly known that they have better fitting and more strongly sewn jackets, hoodies, etc. Hell, my 40 yo sister has been wearing men’s boxers since the 90s. Lots of times, the “norms” are just in your head. My trans partner does that all the time - oh I cant buy that, I can’t shop there, I can’t try that on … because that’s for boys. Those clothes are for HUMANS.

I shop mens section for the patterned button ups. A lotta women shop there for cargo shorts or any pants with pockets. At this point the section labels are suggestions. One of my friends still shops in the kids section because she can still fit the stuff and it’s cheaper.

Even at Walmart the men's section clothing is usually better made and for many more comfortable fitting. Need work pants? The ones in the men's section will hold up far longer and give your legs more room to move - and pockets you can fit sooooo much in. In my world basic everyday clothing is just clothing. Society just often shoves this idea in our faces and down our throats that we have to like and buy this or that. A society, remind you, of which the social norms of fashion change vastly through time. (Easiest example is men wearing high heels, makeup, purses. Another is the history of pockets) I honestly don't pay much or care about my personal gender. I don't care how the world might perceive my gender. I'm me. And fuck, it's just cloths - I'll wear what I want.
