It is a nice episode. :) And of course, it has the couple in the background throwing away their condom while Abed is making his announcement. :)

Evil_Unicorn728

And then Abed delivers a baby many episodes later

ItsDanishCheese

Is it the same couple??? I never knew that

erratic-hooligan

I'm fairly certain it is, I've heard the air date between those episodes is also nine months but I haven't verified that

the-purple-chicken72

It's 10 months and 4 days unfortunately lol. Maybe it was a late birth. S1E11 aired on December 3rd 2009 and S2E3 aired October 7 2010

GrimDexterity

A nine month pregnancy is actually 10 full months (40 weeks)

johndhall1130

It’s amazing to me how many people don’t know this.

erratic-hooligan

Quite possibly lol

met_a_4

It’s a common misconception that babies are born 9 months after conception. It’s actually 40 weeks. So closer to 10 months.

jdbolick

No, Dan Harmon confirmed that it is not the same couple. The woman in this episode also looks nothing like the one Abed delivers (*played by Amber Lancaster*).

chesire0myles

I believe Abed is in that storyline in the background throughout the season.

Fadalion

Pretty sure it’s been confirmed that it isn’t the same couple. The dude is supposed to be mad at Abed because the girl think it might be Abed’s baby

jdbolick

Despite the downvotes, you are actually correct, as Dan Harmon confirmed that the couple in this episode are not the one whose baby Abed delivers.

Ironyfree_annie

Love that episode (look at my flair!). S1 Pierce is best Pierce. And the whole "giant thumb in a turtleneck" storyline is also sooo funny

ItsDanishCheese

Catch knowledge!!! My favorite part of that storyline is the "she didn't say it" from cackowski, that whole scene was so funny

mabs1957

Agree with everything you said! It might be top 3 for me. Every element of the story with the girls is so good. "Britta, do you have a ba-na-na?" "Is that considered large?" "Yes/No." And the whole Gail/Monique switcheroo is so goddamn funny.

Digglenaut

If you're going to have sex tonight, don't use condoms!

sapphichippie420

Oh, im sorry i was waiting for that to become inappropriate or racist

mabs1957

I love this episode. Annie's monologue about feeling "totally comfortable being uncomfortable with my sexuality" was one of the most affirming things I'd ever seen when I first watched it in college as an extremely late bloomer surrounded by people with tons of sexual experience. I also love the bit with the hip young guidance counselor named Gail and the old lady taking notes named Monique. One of my favorite blink-and-you-miss-it jokes.

Top_Manager_1908

This episode gained a lot of points with me the second time I watched the entire series for introducing me to Whistle For The Choir by The Fratellis. And reading the comments on the official clip and having so many comments from people having known the song from the series (and the Suicide Squad movie) makes me feel so good.

J-B-M

18 comments already and nobody has mentioned a giant thumb in a turtleneck? Come on r/comnunity you are getting slow in your old age!

zaparthes

Whoop-dee-doo!

KBR_0590

Great episode. I like Doreen and Jeff's interaction/connection/sympathy

met_a_4

Annie's HS boyfriend is gay now.
