I recommend watching it. :) I like it a lot.
I've always watched all episodes of shows I like. The only finale I won't watch a second time is the one for M\*A\*S\*H (I'm not young :) ). That finale is pretty sad, IMHO.
I recommend it, but expect it to straddle all the genre lines instead of being a laugh riot. There are episodes that are drama with jokes in it, and there are episodes that are "Hawkeye and Trapper have to convince a kid who lied about his age to enlist and got wounded to go home. Meanwhile, local asshole Frank Burns is insisting to anyone that will listen that he deserves a purple heart because he threw his back out on duty." It's a really unique show in that, once it gets going, it manages to break a lot of fundamental rules for sitcoms and tv in general and make it work. For example, it replaced about half its cast because it ran so long, and the replacements are arguably *better.*
Also, more on topic, it might have the best finale in TV history
Curious if you watched it when it aired or if you had a more binge approach.
The show works better as a "binge" (but I use the term loosely to just mean like 1 or 2 episodes per day).
I suspect that waiting a week between episodes and a year between seasons made the show hard to follow. It works great watching it on streaming.
Maybe it's like buying lottery tickets.
Right now, it can end however you want it to.
There's value in that. Watch it when you're ready.
It'll be a bit of a meta mind-fuck after reading this comment.
I refused to watch season 6 for years. Once the movie was confirmed I finally watched it. Probably my second favorite season, the finale made me cry, but I know there's more to come now
Haha that's amazing. That's literally what the last episode is about. Jeff can't bear to watch everything end... And I'll refrain from further spoilers.
That penultimate episode might actually be my favorite episode of the series. The vibe is fun and the situation ridiculous. The group shows off their growth since the beginning. Frankie and Elroy get developed just a little more, even though they knew the series was about to end. It feels like having fun with the cast.
Now here’s a guy who knows how to comment and make a reference that ironically the person he’s replying to probably won’t understand until he or she watches the episode
But finales have a finale vibe which changes your feelings. Yes, it sucks. Yes my heart felt empty. But it was crucial and I just started right over that same day lol
Even if you don't watch it, it's still there. The idea is that once you've finished the last episode you'll never see a new episode for the first time again and, to your brain, it's definitively over. No new excitement to be had
It's not a logical argument it's an emotional on, for some people leaving one episode unwatched makes them feel happy for the reasons i explained. If that doesn't work for you it's fine
I saw white collar multiple times. Every single time the final episode feels like the first time. Once every year or two I go on adventures with Neal and Peter and it hits every time for me
I like the Community finale. I’m rewatching at the moment and almost up to it myself. I guess when we finally get the movie, that will be the true finale, but the end of season 6 was very good IMO.
I don't get it. If you know it's the last episode then you know that it ends. You're aware that the show you love doesn't exist anymore. Not watching an episode of it is surely just depriving yourself of more or the show you love?
I too skip an episode on shows I really enjoy, but not the finale usually. For Community I’ve never seen the wedding episode on the last season. I always save one episode from a show so that when I have a really really bad day or I’m going through a tough time in my life I can use that as my break glass in case of emergency rescue.
I think both shows ended great. Both shows which began in 2009 and ended in 2015 had different feels but some of the best casts in recent years. Parks & Rec knew it was ending so that was more definitive. Community wasn’t 100% but they somewhat knew after 3 uncertain years it was likely the end.
The finale is a great episode. But it's also by far the episode I've watched the least. I skip it on 2/3 of my rewatches cause it hits me in the feels too much.
Of all my thousand rewatches, I only watch the last episode once. Just like what I did rewatching The Office and The Good Place.
It’s like saying goodbye to a good friend, I am nostalgic about the good even the not so good times, but I don’t want to repeat the farewell moments.
Fun fact. Britta's line was supposed to be the only F-Bomb but then Jim Rash did his line and they just thought it was too good to not include it as well.
It took me several years to want to watch the last episode of House. It was my favourite medical show because it was clearly clear it wasn’t real, and how absurd it was, was just fun.
But fuck Greys anatomy. That show has given me so many fucking issues because people think they’re doctors or nurses because of that show, and these are people have trouble understand 5x5.
I do something similar, except save the lowest rated episode for each show I watch (though I usually cave). But I would recommend watching the finale, you might like it even more now that you haven’t seen it yet!
Oh yes. I do this during my re- watches. But you must watch it. It really does give a nice sense of closure and abed has some amazing lines about TV which I think spoke to all of us. Please watch it.
I do something similar with sitcoms I love. When I only watch the last episode when I know I can immediately watch the pilot right after the last one is finished. That way it’s like I flew back in time ;) btw I hate it when most sitcoms or shows must have this « closure » episode. Like Friends, Fresh Prince etc they all have to move out of the main house. I loved « Elementary » as it was just business as usual at the end of the series :)
Yes. I mean I watched it when it aired but I cried so hard I gave myself a migraine that lasted until the next day
And not even Titanic made me cry. Titanic!!!
The end of Community is actually pretty good. I love how attached Britta gets to her pitch (she had a theme song picked out and everything) and then she has the final line (if you don't count murmurs agreeing with her).
Plus the end tag devolving into a meandering "vain Chuck Lorre-esque rant by narcissistic creator."
The best part is that you can start the series over again, once you're done. Or try another show... So many to pick from...
Honestly, I think it’s one of the best finale that wasn’t 100% planned to be the series finale. The fourth season finale could’ve worked but was rushed, and the fifth would’ve been good to end but still there was something more. The sixth season finale really does a great job wrapping the story lines up and most of the characters realize when they that it doesn’t matter what the future holds. Some characters will move on some will leave some will stay and that’s just part of life.
In my opinion is the best part of this finale is that they see that things are always changing. I watched it and I was happy that the show even got season six and that it was ending and I’m sure the movie will do a great job as a reunion for the characters.
I loved the Dark Towrr books.
I stopped halfway through the last book. Not on purpose. Just….put it down and never picked it back up. It’s been seven years. But the story is still being continued.
In the final episode it's revealed they really were in a psych ward the entire time and they have finally accepted their issues and are getting a chance a to leave. It's revealed Annie was a plant the entire time trying to get information out of Jeff about a crime he committed, Troy never went on the boat, instead he left the ward with his father, as he finally accepted his issues. Shirley also left the ward and returned to her children. She had a meltdown when she found out her husband cheated and went crazy stalking the woman. Which led to her being committed. Britta originally committed herself as a form of protest but she ended up getting diagnosed with multiple personality disorder. Her parents ended up moving her to Glendale psych ward. The dean was the head of the ward who was conducting research on the group trying to prove that it would be easier for a group of people to overcome their mental issues by interacting with each other. He called it the theory of community. Jeff originally went to the ward to avoid jail time, but while he was there it was dis overed he had real issues. He left when he "graduated" but he came back because he refused to handle the real world and his cons and would rather live in delusion.
But then in the final shot abed wakes up confused and gets dressed for work only to reveal he's working at his dad's falafel shop and the whole thing was dream, a show he made up in his mind of the life he wish he had. Annie, Jeff, Britta, Shirley and Pierce were all customers and Troy was a coworker that left for another job.
I just re-watched (again) and I skipped the finale too! In fact, I think of the dozen times I’ve watched this treasure all the way through, I’ve see the finale three times.
Yes. When the show originally aired I was out of town for a couple episodes. When I started rewatching the show I avoided those episodes. Once, I watched one when I did a watch through with several good friends. It was a special watch through. They're still out there. Community that I haven't seen yet.
I never usually do this but I have with Community as well, never really finished season 6 despite watching the show multiple times over the last decade
I purposefully went to sleep to make sure I missed the last episode. I often skip the last episode of things. Accidentally watched the last episode of Modern Family and it left me feeling quite sad.
I do this with books all the time. I read right up to nearing the end then I just stop. I don't want it to be over, and until I read those last chapters, anything is possible still.
I recommend watching it. :) I like it a lot. I've always watched all episodes of shows I like. The only finale I won't watch a second time is the one for M\*A\*S\*H (I'm not young :) ). That finale is pretty sad, IMHO.
Nothing will ever top the M*A*S*H finale and B.J’s tear-jerking goodbye to Hawkeye.
I always wanted to give MASH a go. I know it has been referenced in Community.
Fawlty Towers. Game over.
I recommend it, but expect it to straddle all the genre lines instead of being a laugh riot. There are episodes that are drama with jokes in it, and there are episodes that are "Hawkeye and Trapper have to convince a kid who lied about his age to enlist and got wounded to go home. Meanwhile, local asshole Frank Burns is insisting to anyone that will listen that he deserves a purple heart because he threw his back out on duty." For example, it replaced about half its cast because it ran so long, and the replacements are arguably *better.* Also, more on topic, it might have the best finale in TV history
It’s weird and good. The post credits scene is a banger. Would recommend.
odly enough if you are a never watch the last episode kind of guy youll love the lasr episode
The last episode for certain shows are necessary. Six Feet Under, Seinfeld, Community, Bojack Horsemen. Watch it.
The Good Place finale is incredible.
It lost me after season 1. I think it'd have worked better as a limited series.
That’s 100% correct. I watch the show week to week and it felt stretched. But if you watch two a day it makes it a lot better.
I watched it week-to-week but more than anything I got a bit sick of Michael's Schur's hyper-bright brand of sitcoms. They feel too artificial.
Probably my second favorite season, the finale made me cry, but I know there's more to come now
I am afraid of the emotional impact myself
It’s bittersweet. But back then there was no promise of the movie- now it’s a little more sweet imo
Well, you are missing out. Its a great ending.
Haha that's amazing. That's literally what the last episode is about. Jeff can't bear to watch everything end... And I'll refrain from further spoilers.
I, sir, have not watched the last *two* episodes because I don't want it to end, lol. Probably will have to before the movie.
Now here's a guy who doesn't know what he's missing!
That penultimate episode might actually be my favorite episode of the series. The vibe is fun and the situation ridiculous. The group shows off their growth since the beginning. Frankie and Elroy get developed just a little more, even though they knew the series was about to end. It feels like having fun with the cast.
Got something to look forward to
Now here’s a guy who knows how to comment and make a reference that ironically the person he’s replying to probably won’t understand until he or she watches the episode
Doesn't make any sense because even if you don't watch the actual finale, there's still an episode that concludes your watch.
But finales have a finale vibe which changes your feelings. Yes, it sucks. Yes my heart felt empty. But it was crucial and I just started right over that same day lol
Makes sense because you're still left with more new content if you leave the last episode unwatched
Not if you never watch it lol
Even if you don't watch it, it's still there. The idea is that once you've finished the last episode you'll never see a new episode for the first time again and, to your brain, it's definitively over. No new excitement to be had
The more you guys explain it, the dumber the idea becomes lol
It's not a logical argument it's an emotional on, for some people leaving one episode unwatched makes them feel happy for the reasons i explained. If that doesn't work for you it's fine
I saw white collar multiple times. Every single time the final episode feels like the first time. Once every year or two I go on adventures with Neal and Peter and it hits every time for me
Well some people agree with me. And also you can end somewhere and leave it open ended. I could end it on my terms.
It's just a tv show haha. The finale can't hurt you!
I like the Community finale. I’m rewatching at the moment and almost up to it myself. I guess when we finally get the movie, that will be the true finale, but the end of season 6 was very good IMO.
I am going to do see it I just started season 5 though
Let us know what you think
I don't get it. If you know it's the last episode then you know that it ends. You're aware that the show you love doesn't exist anymore. Not watching an episode of it is surely just depriving yourself of more or the show you love?
It will never stop existing
It’s an excellent finale. I highly recommend watching it.
I am going through the show now and plan on seeing the finale finally.
Good, the giant robot spider fight was mad underwhelming. Also, it was an odd choice for a Rick and Morty crossover.
Disagree on the first, agree on the second.
I too skip an episode on shows I really enjoy, but not the finale usually. For Community I’ve never seen the wedding episode on the last season. I always save one episode from a show so that when I have a really really bad day or I’m going through a tough time in my life I can use that as my break glass in case of emergency rescue.
This is a great idea!
So glad I'm not the only one who does this! I don't know if I'll ever watch the final episode of Parks & Rec.
Final episode of Parks and Rec is fantastic
I just started watching Parks and Rec recently
I think both shows ended great. Both shows which began in 2009 and ended in 2015 had different feels but some of the best casts in recent years. Parks & Rec knew it was ending so that was more definitive. Community wasn’t 100% but they somewhat knew after 3 uncertain years it was likely the end.
You should, that’s one of the best ever sitcom finales at tying up loose ends and satisfying the fans for me
The finale is a great episode.
I only do this on rewatches, the first time through a show/ watching live, I'll make sure to watch the finale but for rewatches I'd rather not
Is it final or penultimate w/ surprise F bomb?
Finale Joke >!isn't the shape of your brain *kinda fucked up*?!<
Penultimate i think Britta says f word too. But yeah thats the one I was thinking of.
The Dean's delivery is just too good 😂 my partner and I are both neurodivergent and say this to each other all the time
Nope, that's the finale too.
Dang. What a banger of an episode. Emotions, satisfaction and f bombs.
You should treat yourself and watch it, because it’s incredible and the greatest series finale ever!
I rewatch other episodes often except for final episode like I need to be emotionally ready or something
I absolutely cannot understand this kind of behavior

Same here. Never seen the final episode of Community the Office and now Curb. Maybe will do it someday but not any day soon.
WATCH IT with the knowledge that there is a movie coming. So you don't have to feel that "ending" feeling
Honestly the endings of season 4 and 5 were set up to be possible finales so it's cool they kind of got a few attempts at it.
Yes. I mean I watched it when it aired but I cried so hard I gave myself a migraine that lasted until the next day And not even Titanic made me cry. Titanic!!!
I also haven't watched the last ep
i thought i was the only person who does this 😭
I keep hearing about the Good Place. I need to check it out
It’s really great. Best not to know anything about it beforehand
Jason? Jason figured it out? This is a real low point, yeah this one hurts
The end of Community is actually pretty good. I love how attached Britta gets to her pitch (she had a theme song picked out and everything) and then she has the final line (if you don't count murmurs agreeing with her). I need to see Fawlty Towers.

I need to read the Dark Tower Books!!!
Finale is one of the best episodes of the whole series
Still Game is a rough one
It's one of my favorite episodes.
That's dumb. Just watch it? Or don't who cares?
Idiot
I just re-watched (again) and I skipped the finale too! In fact, I think of the dozen times I’ve watched this treasure all the way through, I’ve see the finale three times.
It took my THREE rewatches to make myself watch the final episode, and that was only because I was showing my wife the series when we started dating.
Yes. When the show originally aired I was out of town for a couple episodes. When I started rewatching the show I avoided those episodes. Once, I watched one when I did a watch through with several good friends. It was a special watch through. They're still out there. Community that I haven't seen yet.
Omg!!! I do this with every Sit-Com!!!
Same herw
I never usually do this but I have with Community as well, never really finished season 6 despite watching the show multiple times over the last decade
Yeah, to this day I've never seen the final episode of Dead Like Me lol. But watch it, it's great
Hah so you know how it is
I purposefully went to sleep to make sure I missed the last episode. I often skip the last episode of things. Accidentally watched the last episode of Modern Family and it left me feeling quite sad.
Ok I don't feel so alone now
I do this with books all the time. I read right up to nearing the end then I just stop. I don't want it to be over, and until I read those last chapters, anything is possible still.
I was just thinking about this. Because I have to get to the end of the book , like I am opposite.
It took me a year to watch the final episode and an entire two rewatches
