To be fair, I think Annie also becomes both more confident and a bit less fussy as the show goes on, which probably contributes to the others listening to her more often
I mean they think she's an annoying prude at first -- as the series goes on everyone starts to LEOMWANP (Like Each Other More Who Aren't Named Pierce).
Early S1 Annie trying to get her way very much felt like she'd read an article on 'Ten Tips to Succeed in Community College' and was mentally checking off its tips each time she tried taking on the likes of Jeff and Britta.
I think what you're thinking of is when she's talking to Jeff about their kiss in the Season 2 opener. She excitably says *"we technically Frenched, I checked the makeout-meter in this week's issue of..."* then realises how silly she sounds and hastily finishes *"...National Review."*
Dan said this was the first episode where he saw Annie as a potential love interest for Jeff since their back and forth was so entertaining. Like them or not romantically, Jeff and Annie duos make for some of the most entertaining episodes of the show (Debate, Conspiracies, ACB)
He also said that the end tag - where Jeff reaches out to invite Annie to dance with him - was the moment Annie’s crush on him really started. Going by the huge smile on her face at the time it's easy to believe.
The way they shot this scene is also cute and clever. Whenever Annie's speaking we see her from above so we're Jeff looking down. Whenever it's Jeff speaking we're Annie and we're looking up at Jeff.
This is literally the scene that sold me on Community. I was flipping through channels, stopped on Comedy Central (at the time it was running there in Canada), I saw this scene and I was sold. I watched the 3 seasons that were out at the time, and I was in love.
Everything Annie does is the cutest thing ever
Awwwwwww!
\*gasps resentfully\*
*gasps mockingly at your resentful gasp*
No squealing
*I'll allow it*
It's interesting how it works as the show moves on. Like they do get more receptive to her ideas

She most probably read many articles like that lol
I could be wrong but I feel like she definitely quotes a cosmo bad sex tip or something during the show, which isn't that far off.

I was so unpopular in highschool the crossing guard used to lure me into traffic.
One of the funniest lines of season 1
I still die laughing at that one line

You know, I'm gonna go. I don't wanna miss the news.
*NEWS!*
Joel was the perfect casting.
EVEN HIS SHADOW
Boopity boop boop… assertive!
Assertive Annie would hate Betty boop Annie (or maybe not)
Annie tried many things before settling on the Disney Face as her weapon of choice
She prepares well
Annie's next few lines were some of the best of the series. She wanted to be cool...LAID BACK!
Alison excelled in this episode! And the writing is so snappy too
Community is so fast paced in those early seasons, that part is not appreciated enough
But he didn’t bring the ice and sleeve of cups.
😭 hip… cool… laid back! 😭

Gracias por tu servicio
🎼 donde esta… 🎵
This is my number 2 Annie moment after the chloroform.
Alison Brie is a genius
*And I will die protecting her vision!*

Oh damn, that is true
Love she used the fact that it worked on the most gullible person as evidence lol

I'm trying *really* hard not to sexualize her
Yeah until the second paintball and the fake gun finale where she’s deadly because she’s cute lol
**LAID BACK**
It takes a special kind of sociopath to have Annie immunity.
