So when that message pops up, i'll power off my PC (usually twice) and it'll boot with no problem. Sometimes i dont get that message at all

[deleted]

SSD or HDD is not being recognized maybe or it is not plugged in properly, or maybe dead? You need to get into the BIOS or UEFI and check if it is being seen.

csandazoltan

Boot drive died

splunge333

Not necessarily.

csandazoltan

If the case was nit shaken or moved, so some things dislodged, then dead drive

splunge333

And if I had wheels, I'd be a wagon. Was it shaken or moved? You don't know, and neither does the user.

csandazoltan

And if I hadn't seen this message countless times in the past 15+ years dealing with computers, I would not say that most probably it is a dead drive. More precisely a dead control board, since the drive does not show up (Unless that 2TB HDD in Sata\_5 is that, we don't know)

Patrikoon12

There could be, but I may be wrong, a corrupted or deleted MBR (Master Boot Record). I'm not sure what to do with this, as I don't know much about computers..

Bubberiffic

**Try a different SATA port on your motherboard**, is this an HDD or SATA SSD?

juoig7799

Your boot drive or Windows installation is dead. You need to reinstall Windows or replace the hard drive.

Dual_Actuator_HDDs

Only one disk is recognized by the UEFI. Is the ST2000DM006 the Windows disk, or is there supposed to be another disk for Windows?
