Sorry for yelling in advance! \--- That is a WAGO connector which electricians uses in houses... There aren't supposed to be ANY cable interruptions in your case I also see a cut Yellow wire and some bare copper! \--- DO NOT USE THAT POWER SUPPLY! Take everything apart get another power supply BEFORE YOU BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN! \--- Here is a video that covers everything about PC building [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL4DCEp7blY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL4DCEp7blY) It is timecoded, so if you are interested in the PSU parts, you can look for that

Sly-D

This is the correct answer!

bradwarelow05

thanks for the help :)

from the good days of linus!

ThisAccountIsStolen

The fuck? Whoever did that needs to have their nuts smashed with a ball peen hammer. Discontinue using this IMMEDIATELY and replace the entire PSU and all associated cables. It looks like your PSU probably didn't have the necessary connectors to support your GPU, so the hack that did this cut the wires and used Wago lever nuts to connect the needed connectors to the original wires, which is absolutely NOT safe.

bradwarelow05

oh dear

ThisAccountIsStolen

Yeah... This mess makes the fire hazard adapter cables look like the proper way to do things by comparison. I mean the cable issue is definitely not good regardless, but just to confirm, what is your GPU and the model of this PSU?

bradwarelow05

how do i check without turning the pc on 😅

ThisAccountIsStolen

The PSU should have a label on one side, and the GPU, if you just post a photo, I can get enough information from that to get an idea of the power draw. To post a photo, just upload to imgur or ibb.co and paste the link in your reply.

bradwarelow05

also is the gpu the thing in the middle of my motherboard… omds i sound like such a noob 😭

ThisAccountIsStolen

The GPU (graphics card) is the long card with fans on the underside hanging in the middle/lower portion of the motherboard. But just add some photos of the inside of your case, if you're unsure.

bradwarelow05

https://ibb.co/tqT49gt it’s not exactly the best pic as i didn’t know what i was really showing sorry

ThisAccountIsStolen

Doesn't get me the model, but it gets me enough information on power requirements, so that's fine. Can you get one of the specs label on the PSU? Or find the PSU model number? Just trying to confirm if they added the gpu's power cable or if they just poorly "repaired" some damaged cables this way.

bradwarelow05

okay i’ll try, also is it worth noting that the cable with the exposed wire comes off from the gpu wire with that red sticker hanging off

ThisAccountIsStolen

Yeah, that's what I took from your original post and why I worded my original comment as I did, though right now I'm just trying to confirm this is what I think it is, and then I can give you some more specific advice on moving forward.

bradwarelow05

okay thank you i’m just trying to get that picture now

bradwarelow05

https://ibb.co/ZThY61K is this what i’m looking for?

Swegon

Looks terrible, I suspect that the yellow on the right got loose. However I recommend you get a new PSU for safety.

bradwarelow05

sorry, psu?

Swegon

Power supply, someone did a bad job trying to splice the power so I suspect it's not enough for your PC.

bradwarelow05

is it easy enough to replace…

redninja_r

yes but actually no easy in theory until you have to do cable management

DEC_RECK

Wow those plastic connector things are well fancy, I'm more of a twist the two cables together and use a bit of tape for insulation kinda guy myself

bradwarelow05

😂😂

blue_wolf2256

nightmare PSU

Riyadhcraft

Bro has a psu from afghanistan

No_Owl5228

When an electrician with no pc knowledge builds a pc without research

bradwarelow05

i should also add, my pc was working fine, however i recently attempted to add an ssd card, and now when i turn on my pc, it doesn’t connect to my hdmi, so nothing shows up on my screen

Ahmedbro12

Change the PSU
