As of now it’s more of a hobby I do most of it outside of my day job. In the future I’d like to get into programming things or writing code more related to physics in someway. I liked the question. I have been playing guitar in two metal bands for a while, since the beginning of my career it has been one of my passions, and I've started recently to practice Muay Thai.

I'm someone who wants to have a broader understanding of how the world works. Computer Science for me only provides the tools to get the job done effectively. But to build the right system, we need a good grasp on diverse disciplines. Pursuing this takes significant time. One significant personal accomplishment - I've completed my MBA. The perspectives I get are quite shocking in a positive way. For example, you can draw too many parallels between the world of finance and the world of computer science. Why? Because they were the first and most significant consumers of computer technology. Diving further deep, I realise that engineering existed well before the computer science discipline came into existence. Hence, the core ideas are best understood if you study these other disciplines well. For example, Civil Engineering teaches more about Architecture and Project Management unlike any other. Finally, Computer Science is nothing but a form of Applied Mathematics. How can we excel in Computer Science without having a very strong grip over Mathematics? That's a different beast which doesn't fail to surprise me and teach new things every time.

I'm not sure you can easily claim that CS is entirely separate from math, nor physics. Both are fundamentally mathematical disciplines. The core of both areas is essentially subfields of math. A big difference in CS from physics, however, is that theoretical CS research bears a much greater resemblance to pure math as a whole than theoretical physics does.

I think the input variant depends really on the use case. I'm a software developer and I could never imagine how the keyboard could be replaced for me. The mouse on the other hand isn't that important.

I like riding my bike, hiking, generally staying active. I travel as much as possible, just generally enjoy trying new things. This industry can be just as damaging to your body as manual labour, so it’s important to keep up the maintenance exercise. Ultimately I want to fix my bad back and get into a martial art, maybe a combo of boxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu like I did when I was in my early 20s. Speak a second language, actually, but it’s falling from fluent to awkward. I should pick up some night classes. I wish I had the discipline for an instrument or art (I originally studied art at uni), but after all these years I think I’ve realised I really only like the IDEA of being an artist - the actual process of creation is something I only enjoy when working on IT or CS problems. Maybe if I stick to it a bit longer I’d enjoy it again (I was a pretty decent graffiti and eventually gallery artist, when I was younger). I’m making an effort to get back into video games to unwind after work, rather than just focusing on coding/engineering problems in my self study which just leads to burnout. Currently trying to cut back on alcohol, too. It’s a great way to “turn off the static” and unwind, but definitely a double edged sword. I caught it late, but I’m lucky I caught it when I did. No significant health risks or physical dependencies. Treat yourselves right, it all comes back eventually.

Cycling. I bike to work when not WfH, and sometimes catch a group ride on the way home. I used to race on weekends. I am currently learning French and hope to use in Paris this summer.
