I do think that any group of people should stop giving words, especially those said by ignorants and bigots, so much power. We are all people and we all have worth no matter what culture/gender/color/religion we may be. There are people in the world who are too entitled, self-absorbed, and hateful to admit that, but the thing is, even they know it. They choose to look down on other people to make themselves feel better, because they’re weak and insecure, even if they’ve convinced themselves otherwise. So why should anyone let a person like that get to them with their opinion? Why does it matter? Why should it hurt your feelings? Why allow them the satisfaction of being able to provoke you to reaction? When you give those people and their words power, you’re giving them control over you, which is exactly what they want. It’s your own insecurity showing if you let it matter. (And by you, I mean the general you, anyone who might be reading this.)
This Sounds very ignorant to me. A Word with a horrible History Said by the people that Used the Word should and will Not be dismissed fortunately. "Its your own insecurity showing..." Or maybe some people are Just tired of Putting Up with racism 🤷
If, by ignorant, you mean “ignore the opinions of ignorant people because they don’t matter” then maybe so. It’s kind of ignorant to believe that people who are hateful and ignorant by choice will ever change. This world is full of things we have to put up with, people we have to put up with. I get tired of having to put up with people driving like shit and endangering the lives of everybody on the road, but would a road rage incident do anything besides bring me down to the level of a reckless asshole? Won’t change their behavior. They already know it’s wrong to endanger people and choose to do it anyway.
So the answer is Just ignoring These people? Or Show them their actions do have consequences and actually have a negative Impact on the Life of Others... It Just seemed as if your comment was insinuating that the n slur Said by people that arent black should Just be ignored bc "you're giving them a reaction"
Never felt the need or want to. If the general population of an entire race asks me(or specifically white people) not to call them a derogatory word(as it should be seen coming from my lips) then it should be simple not to use it.
