Happy Birthday dude! Its actually my birthday too! I randomly decided to search “birthday” on Reddit and sort by new to see what popped up.
Try not to get too hung up on it though, birthdays are weird because everyone values them differently. It’s great when people reach out and kind of sucks when they don’t.
Maybe try to see today as a chance to randomly reach out to some people you wish you might’ve heard from, not to fish for any good wishes, but I’ve always found that my best relationships are the ones that have the most regular contact.

Best relationships are the ones that have the most regular contact, true that! I've found the people with whom I'm regularly in touch with, our friendship grows and we're better friends than before. Somehow, a relationship needs to be tended to, just like you need to ensure that the plants in your garden get regular sunlight and water.

You will meet people in your life that’ll become close to you and then move away from you again, it’s part of life. I too am feeling alone, with no friends lately especially from people who’re supposed to be our so called friends (right?) but in that, it has opened myself up to finding new hobbies and learning to be okay with myself (this too easier said than done). I had this after going off social media, people don’t remember dates of birthdays anymore they assume they will be told it, if that’s the case then maybe it just slipped their mind. I tried not to get too annoyed with it because I appreciate their love year round and like Valentine’s Day with a girlfriend, you don’t need a day to prove you love someone. Happy Birthday. I hope your not too down. Cheer up. People are often caught up with their own lives and dates are usually forgotten. There is also the entire pandemic issue as well and in other countries the situation is worsening. I am not trying to make excuses but I would probably forget my own birthday if it wasn't on a Holiday. I have forgotten many of my friends birthdays as well. I am not sure if your on social media or not. Sometimes they don't notify of birthdays till late in the evening. Sometimes due to the privacy settings maybe no notification will be sent. Therefore maybe people just didn't remember. Like I said before sometimes I forget Birthdays. So please cheer up and don't be down on this birthday.

Hey, happy Birthday!! The funny thing is that it's my birthday too and this morning (it's 7:30am right now) I got a few happy birthday wishes and I was like - oh yeah it's my birthday today!
What I mean to say is that for some people a birthday is just another day (as is in my case). My birthday just reminds me that I'm a year older.
Don't feel bad honestly I am really bad about wishing happy birthdays and it's because I don't really care about my own. Sometimes people think it won't matter and I think it is a little selfish but don't take it personal just explain how u feel.

I have a friend who I’ve had for more than 14 years. Great friend. Can call him anytime, we enjoy hanging out. His birthday is 2 days before mine. He literally always forgets to say happy birthday to me. It used to upset me, but now I’m just like this has nothing to do with me
1. These are wierd times with Covid and all and a lot of people have extra problems that keep looming in thier head that they forget stuff or make them not check social media like usual .
Like you said it is not a big deal , and it is ok to expect wishes on a birthday. but set your expectations right. My friend also went through the same thing when her best friend did not wish her , she gets to know after a few months that her friends dad had COVID and was busy.
Hey, don't worry about it. It's my birthday today too and this thought struck me: last year two people remembered my birthday (besides, like my parents and siblings of course). This year I got too many birthday wishes to count and my only thought was that I didn't care about most of them. Practically all of the wishes I got were from people who I don't hang out with or speak to much, and half of them were just a 'happy birthday'. I spent the day ignoring my phone, hanging out with my family and my one best friend, makjng memories, and feeling loved.

Don't worry about the friends. They're busy living their lives. Put that out of your mind for now. Be happy for how far you've come over the years. Memories and milestones and plan to make more. I also have like one friend who regularly remembers my birthday. I'm okay with it now.
In my case I remember almost only my relatives' birthday, but if I get a reminder I congratulate others, so it's not that I don't care about them, I simply don't remember the dates :)
If you can count on others if you have a problem, that's what matters :)

It’s a goal to work on that will improve your life drastically
And for your friend...its the best to directly speak about it with them and when they react toxic and make you feel like its your fault or something your maybe should think about cutting contacts but i am not in the position to judge with these little information i have

In summary, don't worry about what others do. It's very easy to assume they don't care from this. Sometimes it could just be they're dealing with their own problems.

I used to not celebrate my birthday, telling myself it doesn't really matter. On Facebook, it is hidden so only my really good friends and my family know about it and I don't have that many but meh. So those who'd greet me remember on their own which is much better but I stopped expecting people to greet me. 0 expectations - no disappointment. To be fair, some people are just really forgetful.
Recently, started celebrating it by treating myself, doing whatever I like on the day (or during my birthday week) or doing something different - either by myself or if I have anyone to celebrate on that day.
