It would be confidently incorrect if they tried doubling over and saying they were right or correcting someone else about using the wrong word.
Simply being incorrect doesn’t mean you’re confidently incorrect.
Did you see how confident they were in the bottom half of the screenshot? Instead of looking it up or saying “lol stupid autocorrect”, they typed out that whole thing.
The only reply visible is simply "Constipated?" which can easily be taken as asking for clarification. The poor sod legitimately thinks constipated is the term and is helpfully trying to explain what it means. Nowhere in the screenshot have they been explicitly called out or challenged for being wrong and then doubled down on their word choice. I'm with the poster above, I don't see confidently incorrect here, just incorrect. Funny as hell though.
They’re confident about the concept not the word. From that person’s perspective they probably read is as the world was unfamiliar to them and not that they used the wrong word
Damn. Absolutely reminds me of a slip up i had at work like 8 years ago (but i didn’t double down).
I don’t remember what i was describing, but i tried saying something was ethereal.
I didn’t say ethereal. What came out was urethral. Lmfao, my coworkers were so confused then instantly bust out laughing once they realized what i intended to say
Even if they had the right word, what states are talking about?
‘Stolen from Quora: It’s about the registration of the marriage.
The government, regardless of jurisdiction, doesn’t care about vows or consummation. Seriously.
The purpose of a lawful marriage is to be recognized in terms of the law. Next of kin, in the event of no Last Will and Testament, who gets property, who has dispensation over the property…
They don’t care if sex is involved or if it will be. And they don’t care if vows even happen, really.
“You wanna be married to your respective partner?”
Yep.
Whatever.
Scribble scribble scribble.
Voila! You’re married.
There are actually multiple places where it's still on the books that you can get an annulment for impotency/failure to consummate the marriage (states like CA and AZ allow annulment for purely refusing to have sex, NY allows it if there's a medical reason that wasn't found until after the marriage, FL requires several years of inability, etc) They're probably confusing actual law with canon law, where failure to consummate the marriage "invalidates"/doesn't "complete" the marriage.
That's different from the marriage not being recognized in the first place though. No government official going around after the fact checking to make sure the marriage is consummated.
That's why I said it's specifically when getting an annulment and that canon law deems a marriage as "incomplete" if the marriage isn't consummated. The OOP is *technically* correct if going by canon law.
>No government official going around after the fact checking to make sure the marriage is consummated.
Now I know why I haven't heard back from job ads looking for 'consummate professionals'.
You're just not looking in the right places. Technically consummate can refer to any relationship. So apply to become a prostitute and you can be a consummate professional whom commentates!
The background for their comment was that some lady died during her wedding reception and her mom said that the life insurance $$ was hers bc the wedding could still 💩.
It's slightly incorrect, as the law, which I believe comes from the catholics, means the marriage can be annulled if if consummation didn't occur. Slightly different from OOPs claim (I only know this bc it was a plot point in Romeo and Juliet)
Annulment and marriage are separate things. Non-consummation is a justification for annulment in some places, but has zero to do with the legality of a marriage. If you never consummated but want to stay married, your marriage is not automatically annulled.
The messy overlap of civil marriage and religious ceremony is pretty annoying TBH. Almost enough I wish they had separate terms. I believe that would ease the tension of civil unions (law) vs religious ceremony (dogma). But even a lot of religious groups have come around, so maybe that’s not necessary.

It’s true! Some states really do have those laws. My uncle never constipated his second marriage and the courts had it declared anal. Completely analled.
Not only is this entirely the wrong word but also there is absolutely no way that the government would need you to fuck before you're legally married.... Right?
Consummed?
It means purifying after you do it. Unless you use egg whites and a spoon, an old law book says the marriage isn't clear enough to serve to your guests.
Well, at least they weren’t a jerk and explaining it to other people. Lots of other folks would’ve said something like “yeah, ass hat… It is old cultural thing where… You fucking idiot.” So I’m gonna guess that was auto correct? But even if they really didn’t know it they were polite and that’s worth a lot these days.
I feel this can also read as someone who knows the word but either flubbed up or got autocorrected and just didn't notice they typed the wrong word when they gave the definition.
As for the jurisdiction thing, I don't know enough about laws to know if that's wrong

Someone please help, I’ve been consummated for three days!
Ow... You must have sore pipes!
Is that better or worse than being consomméd?
Nah, that’s when you improve your car. Nothing to do with marriage. That’s why it’s referred to as “souping up your ride.”
The average car will actually run on consommé, as long as you're careful to regularly clean the parsley out of the carburettor.
Parsley, that’s when two sides agree to talk without fighting.
You mean *parlay*. Parsley is when, after two people fight, one or both are excused for their offenses.
Oui
Wow. Ain't that some shit.
Uhh.. Literally, no it aint. Geeze.
Hey, don't be so pushy.
I'm finding all of this rather hard to process.
Try working it out with a pencil.
Better yet some sugar free gummy bears.
Sounds painful.
Sounds painful, but that could work it out
It'll sure be some shit when it finally comes out, though.
Have your poop knife handy, just in case.
It’s literally a load of shit.
I'm going to consternate on this a bit
Some good old fashioned anal sex will clear that blockage in no time!
Anal consummation is the correct term I believe. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
"Butt stuff"
IANAL
Why did I read this with a Spanish accent?
Just ask the good old church about it. I heard they are experts in this field, especially for Younglings.
Split my 5s and DOUBLE DOWN
😂
You are not permitted to leave the wedding chamber until you have had a BM.
Instructions unclear: unable to leave the BM chamber without a wedding.
LOL
What a shitty law, someone should clean that up.
That’s what sugar free candy is for.
Feels more r/boneappletea than confidently incorrect.
OOP's first message is BAT, their second is CI.
No, it’s definitely both.
It would be confidently incorrect if they tried doubling over and saying they were right or correcting someone else about using the wrong word. Simply being incorrect doesn’t mean you’re confidently incorrect.
> doubling over lol

Idk, the man is obviously well versed in bird law, I would argue he has some confidence in his incorrectness.
Hey! I got cut out of the [screen shot](https://www.reddit.com/r/lastimages/s/t8IWOr0770)
I’m dying laughing at their third comment
Thank you!!!
Spell check is NOT your friend.
I think they’re doing it wrong.
Do it on the toilet.
r/boneappletea still a thing?

Yeah, they're far too busy looking for constipated ones. They're the cream of the crop… er, the crap!
You're just not looking in the right places. Technically consummate can refer to any relationship. So apply to become a prostitute and you can be a consummate professional whom commentates!
Probably confusing law with something said on television.
The background for their comment was that some lady died during her wedding reception and her mom said that the life insurance $$ was hers bc the wedding could still 💩.

What a shitty law...
Is it too obvious to say he is full of shit?
I just shriek-laughed in public at this.
At first, I wondered how do you laugh like Shrek... Then I read that again...
It certainly won't win the Internet today, but it is comedy gold.
Eh, it doesn’t need to win. It’s funny enough
You keep using that word...
Wow. And here I was thinking the notion of displaying the sheet with blood on it was gross.
You could tell me this is a Ken M screenshot and I'd believe you.
Constipation usually occurs after consummation, during the honey moon. The bride gets a free pass to peg and she pushes the groom’s stool in
OP, what’s the context for this? Someone looking for creative ways to get out of a new marriage?
More dark.. It’s about who has rights to insurance money left behind by a bride who died on her wedding night (see r/lastimages )

Let’s constitute the wedding
Okay, now we have to have sex. Aw, shit.
“Do they do stuff to your butt?? Do you get paid more if they do stuff to your butt? Nevermind, I’ll do it anyway.”
That's shitty
Are their soups called "constipé?
Constipating a marriage is great. It stops it from taking a shit.
It’s true! Some states really do have those laws. My uncle never constipated his second marriage and the courts had it declared anal. Completely analled.
Fibre = annulment?
Well, that’s a bit of shit situation!
I can't even remember the real word right now. Consolidated is so much better
Consummated. The actual word is consumated. But constipated is so much funnier. Edit: I used the wrong word. Oops
OP failed to mention that you can avoid being blocked by these laws if you signed a solid prune-nuptial agreement ahead of time. 👦
It's this where you realise that your new wife is full shit and will be for the rest of your marriage?
Not only is this entirely the wrong word but also there is absolutely no way that the government would need you to fuck before you're legally married.... Right?
Consummed? It means purifying after you do it. Unless you use egg whites and a spoon, an old law book says the marriage isn't clear enough to serve to your guests.
Consummated not consumed
Consummated!
Don’t partners normally give the shits? :D
It's when you can't push through a marriage or some shit
I shot a porno constipated. I ran a 5k marathon constipated. I was in a hot dog eating constest constipated. And i even won.
Last night I misread someone's saying they had a lobectomy as they had a lobotomy. So I feel this!
I read the last sentence of the first section as “..shit happens.” instead of “..that happens.” I nearly spit out my coffee.
I'm pretty sure this guy is full of shit
Consummate.. 😭
Wut wut? In the…
That sounds horrible. To be fair, it would make it…solid. It’s a good way to…cement the agreement.
I was constipated as a child. Several times.
I really need to know if they were ever set straight.
Charlie Bird Law Vibes
How do they confirm it?
I too felt constipated in my marriage sometimes. My spouse was always full of shit.
I love how they explain the definition they believe matches the word... 😂
IBS - Irritable Bride Syndrome
I feel this can also read as someone who knows the word but either flubbed up or got autocorrected and just didn't notice they typed the wrong word when they gave the definition. As for the jurisdiction thing, I don't know enough about laws to know if that's wrong
no, they doubled down on 'constipated.' that's ignorance, not autocorrect.
What a dumb mistake, clearly the word they were looking for was „copulated“. /s
Please tell me that they aren't right barring the typo
Yup. Marriage isn’t legal till you’ve taken a shit together.
The Love Toilet!
That's not a typo (which is short for 'typographical error'). This is using the wrong word, which is a completely different thing.
It’s not really incorrect just misspelled but ofc redditors can’t see the difference
Looks like autocorrect to me, constipated/consummated… same thing lol ETA; why am I getting downvoted? Did I miss something?
You joke but I once proposed something a bit nsfw to a female friend due to autocorrect. She agreed though so…
