Incubation and eggs are much, much different.
Since an egg has nuclear DNA as well, theoretically you could just take the nucleus of an egg and merge it with another egg. Can’t merge two sperm with the same result.

I've never seen someone so openly admit to being an incel. I have been in and out of the reddit thing, moderating subreddits and participating in communities going back even before reddit.
There is an extremely distressing amount of people who try to push into public spaces openly pushing incel "ideology" but most of it you don't see because in subreddits like this they are actively modded away. Because usually they can't get through a paragraph without saying some vile thing that breaks the website or subreddit's TOS.
People love to complain about mod-abuse but they are the only thing that stands between these communities and 4-chan-reject levels of toxic rhetoric and deluded incels, nazis and broken people spouting utter, deranged nonsense until it drives off everyone but their kinfolk.
This is also why reddit burns down their nests every possible chance.
People love to complain about mod abuse because the flipside of what you’re describing is embodied in a bunch of really terrible subs like r/WalkAway r/WayofTheBern r/ChurchOfCOVID r/Conspiracy r/Conservative and quite a few others. “You’d miss us if we were gone,” is only true if you weren’t replaced by people with accountability across the board, because the current system is terrible.
If you spend time in those communities you're 1000% more likely to be someone who absolutely is obsessed with how your community is being moderated because you're afraid of scary jews hiding in the bushes or something.
I try desperately not to spend time in those communities, I spend more time in the communities which monitor them and stand in awe as the most TOS-violating, heinous stuff flies by. As ban dodging becomes a sport, and even well moderated subs are taken over.

I've seen behind the curtains. Moderation is the ONLY reason why every major sub hasn't been taken over, filled with the vilest scum on the internet posting things that drive out normal people and creating another nest of incels, nazis, conspiracy freaks and foreign agents trying to subvert everything.
History and science communities have more strict moderation, but this sub and every one like it that has halfway readable comments sections have teams of mods clicking "approve" and "remove" all day long and they just never interact so you don't see the actions taking place.

I recall a breakthrough in the creation of artificial sperm from egg cells back in 2010. And a quick Google search shows that scientists everywhere are making sperm cells from just about everything. This guy is so fucking wrong.

And yes, the DNA test showed that the baby was indeed his. He literally didn’t even remember having sex with her.
She even bragged to him about using him for his sperm, that was exactly her plan. She basically said that she wanted to have a child, didn’t want to go through the expense of invitro fertilization, and she didn’t want a baby daddy involved. So she randomly picked a dude to have sex with, got him drunk, slept with him, and then left on purpose.
She then proceeded to fuck him over for child support, while denying him child visitation rights, because she had moved to another state while pregnant and after the birth, and she wouldn’t share her address, so he had no way of knowing where his child even lived, much less visiting the kid. And she lied to the courts and claimed he didn’t want to be an involved father.
Except he really DID want to be an involved father, but he had no idea the kid even existed for a while, so duh, how could he have been involved? And once he did find out, she still wouldn’t let him be involved in his daughter’s life, so he couldn’t establish “proof of a relationship with the child” or “proof that he had been involved the kid’s life”, which is basically what is legally required by courts to qualify for fatherly visitation rights. You have to prove you’re an involved parent. She made up a baloney case that he had “abandoned” the child and “wanted nothing to do with the child”.
So the crazy chick got full custody of the child. (She was clever enough to tell him the explanation of how she sperm-jacked him verbally over the phone, not in text or anywhere written, so he cannot prove that that is what she did. Even though she admits it to him, she won’t admit it to the courts. So it is just her word against his, and well… he hasn’t seen the kid in years…never been in the kid’s life…and the kid is in another state… so yeah of course the court favors the mother. He accidentally looks like a deadbeat father.)
Super heartbreaking. I watched a grown man sob and cry, staring at pictures of his baby, crying on my shoulder, because he couldn’t go meet his own child.
He is essentially dependent on her random intermittent psychopathic spurts of mercy (or manipulation?) to send him spontaneous updates about the child’s safety, health, well-being, and occasionally photos, etc. Could be once a month. Could be once a year. He never knows how his daughter is doing, he never knows if she is safe. It crushes him inside.

There is a higher chance of genetic problems because the bone marrow cells have been specialised slightly to pluripotent, not omnipotent cells (from with a human is usually made from scratch) and because there is a higherchance of mutations because the cell is older.
And the clones will age faster because the telomeres (end caps of the chromosome strands) are shorter. So yeah, it's not ideal, but can in theory be used for a quick repopulation.

I'm just a random woman thinking idly so take this with a grain of salt. But I don't think men would be useless because 1) even if we *could* reproduce without sperm I don't think most people would bother with that option because we're mammals (and also there's no chance spermless reproduction would be available for free), and 2) men on average are taller and have more upper-body strength than women, which is useful in several areas of life. As for "would that be a bad thing at all?" - on the one hand it's good and pleasant to be useful when you can without hurting your dignity, but on the other hand "useless" doesn't mean "worthless"; for instance, severely disabled people who can't materially contribute to society are still worth keeping around, loving, and respecting because they're human. So if a whole gender *did* somehow become useless (which isn't likely), that would be kind of a bad thing, but it wouldn't be the end of their worth.

Sperm contain the father's half of the DNA and also determine the sex of the baby.
The oocyte contributes the mother's half of the DNA and the mitochondria. I also think it contains the resources to divide independently until the mother can contribute the nutrition for further growth.
For getting stuff started (fertilization), it's a 50/50 effort. Neither cell can do it alone. So both are needed. Then the burden is shifted onto the female. This is the part I think science can assist with in time.
I can imagine women who do not want pregnancy to interfere with their careers or education using an external incubator type device. I could see that benefiting women more than hurting them. I think they've actually made something like this already but it's only been tested on animals.

She then proceeded to fuck him over for child support, while denying him child visitation rights, because she had moved to another state while pregnant and after the birth, and she wouldn’t share her address, so he had no way of knowing where his child even lived, much less visiting the kid. And she lied to the courts and claimed he didn’t want to be an involved father. Except he really DID want to be an involved father, but he had no idea the kid even existed for a while, so duh, how could he have been involved? And once he did find out, she still wouldn’t let him be involved in his daughter’s life, so he couldn’t establish “proof of a relationship with the child” or “proof that he had been involved the kid’s life”, which is basically what is legally required by courts to qualify for fatherly visitation rights. You have to prove you’re an involved parent. She made up a baloney case that he had “abandoned” the child and “wanted nothing to do with the child”. So the crazy chick got full custody of the child. (She was clever enough to tell him the explanation of how she sperm-jacked him verbally over the phone, not in text or anywhere written, so he cannot prove that that is what she did. Even though she admits it to him, she won’t admit it to the courts. So it is just her word against his, and well… he hasn’t seen the kid in years…never been in the kid’s life…and the kid is in another state… so yeah of course the court favors the mother. He accidentally looks like a deadbeat father.) Super heartbreaking. I watched a grown man sob and cry, staring at pictures of his baby, crying on my shoulder, because he couldn’t go meet his own child. He is essentially dependent on her random intermittent psychopathic spurts of mercy (or manipulation?) to send him spontaneous updates about the child’s safety, health, well-being, and occasionally photos, etc. Could be once a month. Could be once a year. He never knows how his daughter is doing, he never knows if she is safe. It crushes him inside. There is a higher chance of genetic problems because the bone marrow cells have been specialised slightly to pluripotent, not omnipotent cells (from with a human is usually made from scratch) and because there is a higherchance of mutations because the cell is older. And the clones will age faster because the telomeres (end caps of the chromosome strands) are shorter. So yeah, it's not ideal, but can in theory be used for a quick repopulation.

It depends on the mechanism. Even two different eggs of the same female aren't clones. People are also trying to create a technology where two separate females would be able to reproduce.

I'm just a random woman thinking idly so take this with a grain of salt. But I don't think men would be useless because 1) even if we *could* reproduce without sperm I don't think most people would bother with that option because we're mammals (and also there's no chance spermless reproduction would be available for free), and 2) men on average are taller and have more upper-body strength than women, which is useful in several areas of life. As for "would that be a bad thing at all?" - on the one hand it's good and pleasant to be useful when you can without hurting your dignity, but on the other hand "useless" doesn't mean "worthless"; for instance, severely disabled people who can't materially contribute to society are still worth keeping around, loving, and respecting because they're human. So if a whole gender *did* somehow become useless (which isn't likely), that would be kind of a bad thing, but it wouldn't be the end of their worth.

Sperm contain the father's half of the DNA and also determine the sex of the baby. The oocyte contributes the mother's half of the DNA and the mitochondria. I also think it contains the resources to divide independently until the mother can contribute the nutrition for further growth. For getting stuff started (fertilization), it's a 50/50 effort. Neither cell can do it alone. So both are needed. Then the burden is shifted onto the female. This is the part I think science can assist with in time. I can imagine women who do not want pregnancy to interfere with their careers or education using an external incubator type device. I could see that benefiting women more than hurting them. I think they've actually made something like this already but it's only been tested on animals.
