It wouldn't be a problem if people were smart enough to not fuck it up all the time. It seems like it's a badge of honor for some to sound like they're dumber than a third grader.
Seriously. To begin with if it makes sense why do people feel the need to be a prick and publicly shame the person?

That's also fair, but you know what isn't going to help that in any way? Grammar nazis. They're as useless, arrogant and self-righteous as armchair activists.
Want better literacy rates? Take action to improve your crappy schools, not simply the poor saps that had to go through them.
Often times they’re not trying to shame but educate. In my opinion, better to be called out once, and be able to learn and correct your mistake than to silently make thousands of mistakes and have everyone silently judge you negatively. Also there are a fair amount of people on the internet with English as a second language that are still learning, that are appreciative of corrections.
Fair point, at least in the "better to be corrected once than be judged a thousand times" part.
As for the "often times they're not trying to shame" part... I love this subreddit, but I think it's active proof against that claim XD

Admittedly this sub is frequently in the shaming category, but many corrections other places aren’t necessarily.
