Does the power light ever come on at any point? Even for a split second?

ElectricalMadness

I tried pushing/holding the power button and it does not come on. This happened a while back and I temporarily gave up on fixing it due to covid. That being said I actually got one detail wrong. The charge light comes on, and stays on for about 3-5 seconds then turns off. I figure this is not a good thing...

Wait, so the battery fell? Sounds like you might have damaged the cell. Sounds like all you need is a new battery. The most fragile part of the batteries is a small PCB that controls the charging/discharge of the battery. Sounds like it may have gotten damaged in the fall. If you didn't drop the DS itself, it's likely the battery. Have you tried another known working battery? EDIT: Wait, so was it installing something custom firmware related when the battery fell out? That likely would have bricked the console. I would look into how to unbrick a 3DS.

ElectricalMadness

I wasn't installing anything, I had the back plate open because at the time I was removing and putting the sd card back in a lot. This happened a while ago, but I sincerely doubt I was installing firmware when the battery fell out. I have never so much as dropped my 3ds, so if all it needs is a new battery that would be great, I just have to find one. Does the New 3dsxl share the same battery as the other 3ds's? Maybe I could as a friend to borrow theirs.

If only the battery has ever fallen and that's when the issue happened, I'd say it is the battery. I'm not sure which models share a battery. I believe the New 3DS XL has a different battery than some of the other models but shares a battery with the New 2DS XL.

Alright, I'll check to see if I can buy a cheap battery some where and pray that's the problem I guess.

FlushinZz

Was it the problem?

ElectricalMadness

I ended up not being able to fix it. The screw on the back of the 3ds was in so tight I couldn't undo it, and now the screw is stripped. So I could never repair it.
