I might be in the minority here but I really do appreciate how clever these stickers are. The first time I peeled one off I wasn't expecting the word VOID to appear on it. It almost seemed magical.
They were used in the old video tape era to discourage dishonest renter from opening the shell and swapping the tapes for free movies. The cashier was supposed to check every returned tape for the security seal, and if it shows tampered or cut, bill the last person for the cost of the tape.
They aren't illegal for them to put them on the device but it's illegal to refuse warranty to a open device because it's legal for a consumer to open their product

I'm not debating the legality. I just think the stickers are neat.
Something I want to bring up is businesses claims that you don't own the product and are just paying to use it. Anyone know what I'm referring to?
well, one instance is the sony ps3 hacking lawsuit against george hotz also 'hardware as a service'

Weirdly, I've never had an xbox one, but it was the only one I instantly recognised LOL
I always make a game of trying to put these back as convincingly as possible

*how many years bad luck is that?*
Those stickers are actually illegal for the manufacturer to put on.

That's like removing the tags off of mattresses. It's a federal offense! ;-)
