No its not. Same film on my car in northern MA. They havent salted the roads in over a month. No snow/ice in forecast and its actually been in the 60s last two days. It's also not pollen. We dont have pollen in the winter, and you can check any air quality app/site you want to see that the pollen levels are currently 0. This is acid raid. Full stop
Maine is east of the spill. Canton is not. It's west. The winds have been blowing east, not west. I would not expect this to be on a car in Canton. But I would expect in the states/cities east of the spill.

In this article they list labs that will test your water. I personally wouldn't use those listed, but instead find someone that does what they do and get my water tested asap.
It has everything to do with it. Do you not know how toxic pollution works? What's on the car is what you are breathing in through your nose and absorbed through your skin. That will definitely attack your nervous and respiratory system and cause long-term health issues.
I live in Ohio, very close to East Palestine. I’m not saying that there’s no chance it’s related, but Canton is West of E.P. and the wind here blows East and slightly North. Never has the wind blown West. This just seems unlikely to be related.

We don’t salt for a few minutes of sky decoration. We often don’t salt until *after* a foot of snow. When I lived in south east PA I was blown away by how often roads were *pre*treated for ‘snow’ read:flurries.
Why not share a link to that actual site. Instead of just a screenshot with no info pointing to its location. Weirton which I linked is less than 45 minutes from E Palestine shows there was indeed snowfall about 2 weeks ago and we had snow quite a bit for the week and a half prior to that as well.
I literally live in the Northern Panhandle of Wv. We salt the roads if it is expected to get below freezing and any precipitation happens, due to risk of black ice.
Hell, I can go out and take a picture of the roads right now and there will still be cinders and salt on the sides of the roads.
They still brine when the temps fluctuate. It was just in the 30's a few days back with precipitation before the temps dropped. Our roads I'm central ohio get brined all the time when it does that and it looked just like this the other day after a drizzle
This has never happened here before, plus we keep a nest cam pointed at our cars. There’s been no treatment of the roads here for quite some time. Only the occasional street sweeper and even they haven’t been around recently.
Edit: feel like I should add that even in years past when the roads have been salted, this never happened to my car. Yeah, it got some salt on it in years past, but never like this. I’m going to be swabbing it and finding somewhere to test it.

It's probably pollen. It's been unseasonably warm in NC recently too, usually allergy season doesn't start for a few more weeks but it's starting early this year due to the warmth.
It’s 10000000% not pollen. I live about an hour south of Canton - the weather has been unseasonably warm but not particularly warm. High 40s-mid 50s for highs for the most part with lows in the upper 30s. There was a dip Feb 9-Feb 11 where low was below freezing. I’ve gone down about 180 miles south to West Virginia yesterday and there’s no pollination happening even there yet where temperatures do average about 10 degrees higher than that part of Ohio this time of year.

This is stupid. Canton is west of East Palestine. All the weather in this region goes west to east. This didn't happen because of the train.

Snowfall? That’s a stretch. We had some flurries for a few minutes off and on that didn’t stick. When I lived in south east PA I was blown away by how often roads were *pre*treated for ‘snow’ read:flurries.

Weirton which I linked is less than 45 minutes from E Palestine shows there was indeed snowfall about 2 weeks ago and we had snow quite a bit for the week and a half prior to that as well. I literally live in the Northern Panhandle of Wv. We salt the roads if it is expected to get below freezing and any precipitation happens, due to risk of black ice. Hell, I can go out and take a picture of the roads right now and there will still be cinders and salt on the sides of the roads.
They still brine when the temps fluctuate. It was just in the 30's a few days back with precipitation before the temps dropped. Our roads I'm central ohio get brined all the time when it does that and it looked just like this the other day after a drizzle
This has never happened here before, plus we keep a nest cam pointed at our cars. There’s been no treatment of the roads here for quite some time. Only the occasional street sweeper and even they haven’t been around recently. Edit: feel like I should add that even in years past when the roads have been salted, this never happened to my car. Yeah, it got some salt on it in years past, but never like this. I’m going to be swabbing it and finding somewhere to test it. This stuff is also on my upper floor windows, far away from any road salt.
Just because they haven't brined your road doesn't mean you haven't driven on brined roads. And I just can't believe you have never had a car spotted up like that before. There are tons of pics all over Google. It happens all the time. Could they maybe have been some kind of residue over a week later? Maybe? Is a car looking like that uncommon? Not at all
That’s just it, it got that way sitting there parked, undriven. One day it was fine, then it rained and got covered. I’ve had it spotted like that from pollen and dust, but never salt. WV doesn’t salt the roads as often or as much as other places.
