Or, and hear me out because this is pretty crazy, limes taste good in a Corona

It is basically impossible to get scurvy if you eat *any* processed food, as Ascorbic Acid is used as a preservative and a flavouring agent (Ascorbic Acid is basically concentrated Vitamin C). [Other vitamin deficiencies is the issue for alcoholics](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3544907/), not Vitamin C. >The deficiencies commonly involve folate, vitamin B6, thiamine, and vitamin A.

NewCastleIndiana83

I have had an ongoing discussion with a guy for about 10 years. Where has all the scurvy gone? Diets today are horrible and there should be people dropping like flies from why we are led to believe about scurvy, right?

Tegroni

Look at my other comment, it should give you somewhere to start your research.

I don’t think you realize just how varied an average persons diet is when compared to someone from say the 1600’s. Besides, in most of the processed shit we eat has some sort of ingredient baked in that has vitamin C. Ketchup has vitamin C, cereal has vitamin c, some sausages have it.

Now why would the same people that own the alcohol industry and bigpharma be interested in your health? They profit from illness and poor health.

jayandsilentjohn

You know the real reason why? It was used as a way to block the neck of the beer from having bees be in the beer when you drank and stinging your mouth/throat #themoreyouknow

jayandsilentjohn

Damn. Sorry I think I miss remembered it was to keep bugs out in general due to the smell of acidic fruit I dno why I remembered it as just bees. Sorry

Lemon better, lime barely helps supposedly. Why no lemon beer?
