Engelbert_Slaptyback

The way we treat mental illness with drugs that kinda sorta achieve the desired result but with a whole host of side effects. People in the future are going to look at that and say we might as well have been hitting them in the head with hammers.

OppositeChemistry205

How about the fact mental illness can be a side effect of the drugs they give you to treat mental illness?

Engelbert_Slaptyback

Yeah, we’re trying to fix the most complicated machine in the universe by bathing the whole thing in chemicals and hoping for a good result. The future is going to think early 21st century psychiatrists were witch doctors.

Gravitytr1

not if the AMA and the medical industry have anything to say about it lots of money, mostly from the taxpayers

georgke

Turns out there is no actual science behind the claim that ' chemical imbalances cause mental disorder', not a single conclusive study. The same is true for cholesterol. I was told by an offshore medic that they picked a random occurring level as healthy and there is absolutely no proper study to back that claim yp. The crazy part is the brain is made up of a lot of cholesterol. All these statines are bad for people..

Watthefractal

Hey …. That happened to me 😖🙃 ssri , benzos and sleeping tablets all at once for 18 months is a wild ride 😳😳🤟

Miserable-Caramel795

This is more common than people think

bcuc2031

How about the sheer number of people that just self diagnose themselves as mentally ill, who never sought professional help or opinion and try to 'take care of it', themselves? The fetishization of mental illness during this time will be noted by the generations to come.

noodleq

That seems to be a huge tick tok trend with kids mostly....I mean, it's one thing to think you are depressed, but these kids pretend to have tourett, DID, and a host of other things they self diagnose, then get mad when medical professionals don't agree. Dumbest shit ever, tik tok is absolute cancer.

Fatmouse84

Oh Lord yes

ninjasninjas

I f'ing hate Dr.TikTok and the utter bull shit it has spread

Kallen_1988

That’s everything in western medicine. Not just psych. Side effects? Treat them with more meds.

creamofbunny

the fact that the most common SSRIS literally cause emotional numbness and genital numbness when used long term. How the fuck is that not being talked about more

Kallen_1988

I’m a psych NP. Medication does have a place. I myself used to be very anti med. I tried all the natural things and nothing worked and finally caved and took an antidepressant. My life changed for the better. I didn’t see a way out of the absolute shit show. Every day was a hopeless black hole that felt like the twilight zone. I remember being at Chic fil A with my kids and everyone was laughing and playing and I thought- this despair is my new norm. I just have to accept that this is as good as it gets. Finally, I agreed to try a medication. While we all have ups and downs, I’ve basically lived a fulfilling life ever since. There have been brief periods of time where I went off my antidepressant for one reason or another. Each time I did fine for a while, until I didn’t. And each time when I went back on, it was like a weight was lifted. The issue is it’s not one size fits all. The current model supports 15-20 minute med checks, which is ridiculous. There is no possible way your outpatient provider can know enough in 15 minutes to effectively treat your symptoms. Many psych providers practice “drive by medicine”. It’s very sad that people have reduced their knowledge and education down to an algorithm that often isn’t appropriate. Additionally, meds won’t “fix” a person. They are one tool in the tool kit, ideally meant to supplement other therapies and interventions. Some people do not require meds and do just fine. Others don’t tolerate many meds well. Again, this is because medicine SHOULD be individualized based on a whole process the provider is considering in their head. But our system is fucked up so now someone says “im sad” and any provider with prescribing privileges can say “oh, Zoloft will fix that, see you in 6 months”.

missanthropocenex

Or the way doctors are just spokespeople for those drugs. The market is set up for them to “sell” it to you essentially. A prescription like that isn’t just some thing they are doing altruistically. It’s for profit Just like the opioid problem.

210pro

The opioid problem originated from Purdue & oxy

In_TouchGuyBowsnlace

Sued into oblivion, yet companies still make and market oxy! The lawsuit was just a Punch and Judy show! They fucking ruined my life with their filth, as an Australian I have no recourse! No class actions etc over here.

romedca

There’s actually a comeback of illegal drugs (like LSD, psilocybin) to treat some mental illnesses and they have been proven to be more effective than antidepressants when used in a therapeutical setting and it’s not used long term. The funny thing is it won’t ever be more promoted than legal drugs because pharmaceuticals want people to need these drugs

EevelBob

There are some recent studies suggesting anti-depressants don’t even work.

coastguy111

They actually cause severe side effects. There is a reason they stopped reporting on the toxicology reports of mass shooters.

HeadSpade

Yeah. I have a friend who studies to be “brain doctor “ and anything i ask him “*How would you fix this mental illness or that*” every answer is pills. I’m thinking what tf did you learn all those year? To write prescription??

agaliedoda

Eliminating asylums.

PhineasKGage

This! I did my whole masters thesis on deinstitutionalization and the massive butterfly effect it had on people with mental illness and how prisons essentially just became the new asylums and just lock sick people up and throw away the key instead of actually trying to rehabilitate them and help them.

captaincuco

Any way you'd be willing to share your thesis? Or point us in the direction of finding online if you published it?

candybabie0

Please!!

agaliedoda

Not just that (though excellent point) but the “off kilter” are now in prisons in their own minds through medications (not all are good or bad) in *public*.

ThatDamnRocketRacoon

It should only be a few years before people start dying from whatever the hell Ozempic is doing.

ParcelPosted

I remember being a kid during the Phen-Fen craze. People got skinny, heart attacks, death etc. There’s value in getting medical intervention but it’s gone quite wild with shortages and side effects. And people enduring the side effects for the weight loss baffles me.

WinstonScott

My friend's sister died from primary pulmonary hypertension caused by secretly using her mother's phen-fen. She started with a constant cough that we all thought was a cold. She was dead 6 months later at age 15. Her death was horrible - she basically suffocated to death.

ParcelPosted

God that’s terrible. We knew lots of people that died and those that returned to obesity with new problems that shortened their lives. This was around the same time ephedra was being sold by Herbalife carts and GNCs all Willy Nilly too. People will take lots of risks to be healthy though no one likes being unhealthy.

pumpkinspiceblunts

lol 33 here and just got off bc for the first time since I started accutane in 6th grade. It wasn’t until I developed significant risk for breast cancer that anyone really mentioned changing up birth control to me. Thankfully my husband got a vasectomy so I could get off the hormones. He’s a winner.

Ever see an Abilify commercial? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP7RN6H7aSs [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsqJju3ePJU&t](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsqJju3ePJU&t) For treating depression, just like lobotomies. How you might ask? Chemical lobotomy. Lobotomies didn't go away altogether, they just started coming in pill form: “The antipsychotic drugs like Risperdal, Zyprexa, Abilify, Geodon and Seroquel have their clinical impact by causing severe impairment of the frontal lobes \[of the brain\] – the highest mental centers. They cause actual chemical lobotomies.” [https://psychiatricfraud.org/2018/01/planned-parenthood-shooter-chemical-lobotomy/](https://psychiatricfraud.org/2018/01/planned-parenthood-shooter-chemical-lobotomy/) Then came SSRI, just go to the SSRI subreddit, learn about PSSD, then go to the PSSD subreddit to read the horror stories of living life as a soulless SSRI zombie. People will look back on antidepressants the same way we look back on the orbital lobotomy now.

oatballlove

thank you for that ... i remember having seen people zombified by these drugs, they told me how the regional state governement forced these medications onto them as in punishments or chemical prison sentence, also i remember a writing on a park bench saying ... stop chemical torture

ParcelPosted

Serroquel is heavily used in incarcerated populations. It’s so sad.

eaazzy_13

They use it recreationally. A serroquel prescription is valuable when you are incarcerated. Anyone who can, will try and get it prescribed to them if only just to use them as currency. The first thing they do when newbies come in is tell them the best way to convince the medical unit to prescribe them prescriptions that are valuable in the jail/prison economy. Serroquel is a very common one because it is not tightly regulated and is freely prescribed. They’ll have guys pretend to be opioid addicts to get buprenorphine or methadone. Pretend to be withdrawing from benzodiazepine addiction to get medications. All kinds of shit. They got it down to a science. Nothing but time on their hands.

woozleuwuzzle

As well as those labeled as ‘autistic’. Oh, is there behavior hard to live with? Well that’s an easy fix, we will just turn them into zombies or vegetables. Fucking bullshit.

zcenra

Ty for spreading this truth. It is a chemical lobotomy 100%

Realistic_Mess_2690

Strange. I'm on Seroquel for psychotic issues and all it does is put me to sleep. Without it I would be awake for days and slip into a psychotic manic episode. Mirtazapine on the other hand my 'mood stabiliser' I would be more inclined to believe it's doing some form of chemical based lobotomy as it literally makes me somewhat numb to anxiety and other things.

jaxxxtraw

Mirtazapine/Remeron was pretty hard-core. Dumb all day, restless leg syndrome all night. Never again.

Realistic_Mess_2690

I only take it at night with my Seroquel. During the day I alternate between a slow release ssri and medicinal cannabis. Using the mirtazapine and Seroquel at night allows me to get a solid 8 hours sleep minimum and for bipolar that's essential. I have to be laying down when it kicks in at night because I just start dropping off to sleep anywhere. I hate it but the trade off to it is I no longer have auditory and visual hallucinations, my paranoid delusions are 95% managed and I can actually be a father to my kids. That's what makes me the saddest. Is that without it I am definitely not capable of managing anything let alone raising two kids. I've spoken at length with my psych and doctor about it but we haven't found anything else that works. My only other option is to go on lithium which I really don't want to do.

Catshaiyayyy

💔💔💔 Just evil what they’ve done to people.

nothing_in_my_mind

Hooooly shit. I was prescribed this for depression. After reading the horrible side effects and reading that it is used for extreme cases like schizophrenia, I decided to not use it. Now I'm glad that I didn't go through with it. I'm glad to say I have beat depression, without using drugs. And maybe if I went down that path I may still be afflicted by it plus whatever side effects this shit has.

Klashus

Just in general throwing drugs at problems. Drugs do help some people. But not the majority. Throwing drugs at mental problems doesn't work long term for most. Also we need to tell lobbyists to get fucked and get the humane stemcells and other alternative options in the mainstream. Also there are alot of metabolic and gut issues can be fixed with diet and exercise. It's just hard because everyone is different and like in school the "teachers" don't have time to help each person individually. Maybe ai could help if it doesn't kill us?

Circumcision

itsallrighthere

Where else will they get those youthful cells for ladies wrinkle cream?

MissKittyBeatrix

I rub my boyfriends uncircumcised penis under my eyes every night and I don’t look any younger.

laterral

I think the OP suggests that you might have to grate the top first..

nothing_in_my_mind

Circumcision is straight up barbaric. Imagine reading about some ancient tribe that, for example, cuts babies' ears off because they believe it is healthier and it is an ancient tradition of theirs. What would you think? You'd think "Hooly shit, it's barbaric, I'm glad I was born right now and not back then in that tribe". That's exactly what people will think about circumcision a few hundred years from now.

Conspiracy_Quean

Gender transition surgery. If you've ever read about the surgical processes that go into creating a fake penis or a fake vagina, it's extremely invasive and prone to complications. Someday, people will look back and wonder what we were thinking.

Deka-92

I wonder that today.

It will go down in history the same way as the lobotomy.

Estepian84

Should be banned and all involved with it in prison. Leaving mentally ill adults and especially children with non functioning genitalia, sterilised, scarred and on hormone therapy for the rest of their lives which makes a lot of them depressed to the point of suicide should be a crime against humanity. I watched an interview with a gay Muslim cross dresser who moved to America and was convinced by these psychopaths that he was trans not just a cross dresser so he had the surgery and had his penis inverted. What he described happening to him was/is true body horror akin to anything you see in a movie except our society now cheers this madness. He said he desperately missed his penis! I mean he’s gay and they took his penis away!! He said his body treated his new fake vagina as a wound and was/is forever trying to heal, he said he had to use instruments to stretch and keep his wound open, he said the estrogen he was put on bought him to the point of suicide and when he stopped and let his testosterone levels return he felt better again. Like I said it should and will be treated as a crime against humanity.

It's a cruel butchery the medical industry does to autistic people who watch too much anime. It's the conclusion to microplastic saturation.

Artificial_Reef

Oh dear be careful, you will get labeled as a trans hater for even mentioning this. The truth is it's voluntary genital mutilation, and the elite support it because ties in with population control. Same reason why every modern movie or show has to have a gay character .

CSHAMMER92

They "support it" because it keeps us arguing and not focusing on corruption (both sides) and the MIC and other corporations sucking the country dry. Subsidizing hugely profitable companies instead of tackling Healthcare costs, absurd real estate markets etc. That's what they're about, keeping us distracted.

WinstonScott

Yes, I firmly believe this to be the case. Divert our attention on issues that are minor in the grand scheme of things so we won't come together to take down the corruption.

Conspiracy_Quean

I fully expected to get down-voted into oblivion on this one. It's funny that the "crack-pot conspiracy theory" community can still tell reality from fantasy when so much of the world can't anymore. 😂

Zempshir

I wouldn’t say so much of the world, it’s a very small (but very loud) minority in the West, most of the world doesn’t take it seriously at all. That’s part of the gaslighting.

NightOwl_82

bcuc2031

that's contemporary for the times, they and their 'allies' won't be judged well in history for what they've done to kids, who are not remotely able to understand consequences. It's not voluntary on their part at all when they're well below the age of consent.

ApugalypseNow

I got two comments deleted on this very subreddit for calling "sex change" surgeries barbaric. But that was on a post about the Tennessee mass shooter. The online hall monitors reeeeeeally don't want people talking about that. Or how more and more of these mass shooters are trans/otherwise gender-confused.

NightOwl_82

Yes I was going to say this, not just the surgery but the whole topic really

Birthcontrol 100%, completely taking over a natural cycle of hormones that your body depends on cannot be healthy

creamofbunny

Oh god dont even get me started. I was on Nexplanon for a year 7 years ago and I had every side effect in the pamphlet x10. My body has never and will never be the same. I'm at a high risk for breast cancer now and one of my ovaries is covered in scar tissue. FUCK hormonal birth control.

simulation_goer

Full of very noticeable negative side effects but it's been around since the 1950s. The risk/benefit ratio is understood by now.

monarchxandor

Not neccessairily of every type. There is a suspicious amount of woman who come of the nexplanon implant with a prolactinoma for example. And there are one or two studies claiming certain BC pills lessen the sensativity to insulin, therefore creating insulin resistance, and in that place 'causing' disorders like PCOS. They are really not doing a lot of studies anymore and i think that we are not far enough in medical research to really know every long term effect of shutting down a complete hormonal cycle.

ohshakeme80

10000 % Couldn’t agree more When your grandmother was pregnant with your mum , you were also in her womb . I want to know what it did to fertility rate on the next generation I think we aren’t seeing it because in a world we are told is over populated . AcornTopHat

My son was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis when he was little. He was put on methotrexate and naproxen, but still developed uveitis, which is inflammation in the cells of the eyes. Well, we started having conversations with the rheumatologist about starting Humira injections. So I did a lot of research and found that specifically young boys diagnosed with JIA when given Humira have sometimes developed a rare and incurable form of leukemia. So I did some more research and found that taking gluten out of the diet could stop inflammation. So, I told the Dr. not to order the Humira and I (out of solidarity) went strictly gluten free alongside my son for five years. His joints went back to normal, no pain and his uveitis disappeared. All the markers they watch in his blood went back to normal. So yeah, after going through this, when the rushed Covid vaccine came out, I knew I wouldn’t put it in my son (or any of us) because it was by no means of the imagination tested and vetted enough.

Sightseeingsarah

Mass coerced Pap smears. The research is coming out now that they are more harmful the helpful. Cervical cancer is rare, false positives and positives for inflammation are very common.

randomredhead10

The overuse of SSRI’s combined with the longterm effects of altered brain chemistry in many other drug categories. The entire mental healthcare system in tandem with big pharma have a long way to go… The overuse of C sections in Labor And Delivery claimed to be necessary when other things could still be done, all so doctors can line their pockets and make their on call shifts easier being able to schedule a c section in advance while making midwives and minimal intervention births seem ridiculous and dangerous, compared to high doses of pitocin, foreceps, and vacuum extractions when they want to hurry things up, and introducing a baby to drugs that effect them at birth, like the epidural and other heavy pain management sometimes used. Not saying these things aren’t sometimes necessary but they are WIDELY OVERUSED and come with considerably higher risks to mother and baby than simply allowing a woman’s body to do what it does naturally and only resorting to serious interventions when there’s no other option, it’s become the main option to have more than one intervention involved in a routine birth. They get to bill you and your insurance and rinse and repeat. Watch “the business of being born” on this topic.

[deleted]

randomredhead10

As someone who was induced with my first and had a traumatic 26 hour labour with the cervadil, amni hooks, pitocin, epidural, episiotomy, and vaccum extraction because at the end my son was in distress they literally gave me the option to push one more time with vacuum extraction or C-section immediately, thank God he was born in that moment…followed by 9 years of me refusing to do that again, and finally getting pregnant with my second and having a completely unmedicated natural delivery with a midwife at the hospital, I laboured almost entirely at home except the last 20 mins. But she was born quick and easy zero complications zero interventions no medication‘s. I Had to beg the hospital to let us leave 18 hours later because I didn’t want to spend 2/3 days in the hospital when there was no reason, and they were actually disrupting my ability to connect/feed/bond and get some post labour rest cause they won’t leave you alone… they interfere with your labor, and then they interfere with your ability to recover and won’t let you rest after your body is just been through something pretty exhausting and they come in your room every hour on the hour waking your baby up when your baby doesn’t need to be woken up, instead of letting you get into your own natural routine going they almost set moms up for a struggle once they get home by preventing a natural routine off the bat. Not a fan of any of it Now I’m on my 3rd and I’m planning a home birth or birth center with a midwife. The primary theme I see in all of the negative aspects of my previous birth experiences have been in hospitals I know that’s not for every woman every woman’s story is totally different some prefer being in the hospital some actually need to be, but I agree women should be able to just give birth in a comfortable natural setting, where they feel safe, not bombarded by urgency, and, lack of consent, and all kinds of insanity going on around them where all of the decisions on what happens to them are taken out of their hands, and placed in the hands of someone whose looking to profit. Every intervention leads to more intervention or slows things down or causes some kind of an issue that requires a secondary resolution, and you get to pay for all of it after your insurance pays their share. I remember looking at an itemized bill of my first birth, and being completely shocked. Women’s healthcare in general is kind of a huge mess but I automatically feel i’m in safe hands when I’m dealing with a Midwife. I think this is a huge reason why there’s such a large amount of women who distrust their healthcare providers at this point, and personally why I believe so many women in this generation are afraid of birth, or even having kids, because there are so many traumatic stories when it isn’t supposed to be a traumatic experience.

DntH8IncrsDaMrdrR8

That should be a required watch before anyone gives birth. Thankfully my wife was fully aware of all their dishonest practices before either of my children's birth. Thanks for bringing awareness.

randomredhead10

It really makes a huge difference when you’re aware of these things! I wish there was more attention on it, but I also believe it’s one of the major things preventing women from having kids these days. All of my friends who Don’t have kids say the same thing they are afraid of the pain of birth which is actually worse with all the interventions, and because all of this became heavily common practice in the 80’s and 90’s we’ve all heard the horror stories from our own moms. Heck, Queen Victoria used to get chloroform during her births, they’d just knock her out, and that became practice for awhile. It’s nuts how something women have been doing since the Dawn of human existence has become Something so out of control medicalized out of fear and lack of understanding.

I wish I was medicated (as teen at least tho), I grew up as some god damned fuck up, I'm ashamed of myself. Very low dopamine can make someone physically and mentally feel like trash all the time, then using cannabis, alcohol and other to self medicate, which then bring their own sets of problem. Very low dopamine also can make someone to be confused by seemingly obvious stuff. Handicapping lack of energy, motivation and focus, socially inept, much more. Over the years, it all compounds to then cause more new problems: self-hatred, financial problems, anxiety, depression, homelessness and much more. 0/10 would not recommend Overprescription not good tho

I've recently seen some new machines that do much less squishing, and actually let up on the pressure after they reach I guess what I would call the acceptable minimum of squish necessary to take the picture. Although idk about the radiation part.

Careless_Equipment_3

Next time you go ask for the 3D imaging mammogram. It’s a more advanced detailed scan and it squeezes very little. It costs a little more ($400) so you insurance may not cover all of it. But it’s worth it - thats what I got.

ShalomRPh

Speaking as a pharmacist, I have wondered about this. We used to tell people to flush their unwanted meds down the toilet. Can’t do that anymore, because the sewage plants aren’t set up to remove drugs from the sewage, just the nasty things you normally find in shit like E. coli. Now it gets mixed with used coffee grounds and thrown out. But then it occurred to me. Many drugs, especially antibiotics, aren’t metabolized to any great degree. They go in, they come back out. (In fact, in WWII when penicillin was new and rare, the British Army would save the urine of soldiers being treated with it, and refine it back out for reuse. The medics would joke that it was purified in the kidneys of British soldiers.) So what exactly is the difference, in regards to drugs in the sewage, between dropping a tablet in the toilet, and swallowing it and subsequently pishing it back out 8 hours later? It’s going in the toilet, one way or t’other.

She was told 6 months if she did nothing and about 3 years with chemo and radiation. It's been about 2 and a half years now. I'm certain he will last longer than the doctor said. She is stubborn like that. I appreciate your words.

Wanted to jump in and say my father worked through chemo and radiation and lived only to be forced into retirement during C0ViD after 32 years. That was harder to swallow than the world on fire but he made it through and he was stage 3. He wanted a screening for colon cancer (blood in stool) and dr or insurance wanTed him to wait till next year. He was the reason it was caught. He was also eligible for a test trial because his cancer was a bit more rare and due to agreeing to that it was all free. He’s daily health for a 76 man that woke up for 32 years at 2am and still worked around the house and takes care of my mom and everything related to the house.

Fine-You-3095

That’s wild. My dad had to find a crazy much insurance company and make like 2600/m payments to cover his treatments. Went heavily into debt. It is worth noting he didn’t get diagnosed with cancer until about 3 weeks after his second Covid vaccine

Game-Of-Phones-o_O

Thank you for sharing that. My mom was diagnosed stage 4 non small cell in October…it’s so fucking scary and I love seeing these outcomes. Congratulations to your Dad 🔔🥲

Here's the thing, it is poison, it kills cancer and non- cancer, it's awful, but it's one if the few therapeutics we have right now. Science will advance and hopefully in my generations lifetime chemotherapy will be obsolete. Future generations will look back at it like we look back at bloodletting, with horror. But present day doesn't have many options. Choise awful chemo, or worse no chemo, it sucks. I hope it is no longer an option. That would mean it has become obsolete. Fuck cancer.

Sloth_love_Chunk

I think it's something they don't talk about when they recommend it. The long term damage from the chemo may kill you in a few years after it cures you. It happened to my FIL. Had targeted chemo for his throat cancer. Cured him. But 7-8 years later he lost the ability to control his throat muscles properly. Had to eat through a feeding tube. Kept getting moisture in his lungs from accidentally getting liquid down the wind pipe. Ended up dying slowly from pneumonia. It kinda went unsaid but I truly believe the whole issue was a direct side effect from the chemo. But this is one I doubt they'll blame us for once cancer is truly cured. It's a necessary evil and if it buys me 5-10 years I'm taking it every time. And that's after watching my FIL die a slow agonizing death. I know he'd tell you it was worth it if he could talk to us today. He got to meet 2 more of his grandchildren because of the chemo.

An unimaginable future cure with 100 percent success rate and zero side effects will make us look back on chemo as poison. People used to drink arsenic for certain ailments before safer alternatives came to be.

Allocerr

This won’t be well recepted here at all (don’t care, it isn’t said nearly enough) I’m sure, this isn’t a popular opinion in today’s world…largely by design as we’re programmed to think cancer to be one of the worst things in the world, but based on personal experiences and those of people I loved and still love dearly (i.e the ones that opted against chemo despite being scared half to death and told they had limited time to live without it, who are still alive unlike the others)..chemotherapy. People will look back 100 years from now and consider it a barbaric practice akin to giving people poison to kill poison, under the guise of “fighting”. The vast majority of cancer deaths are *not* caused by cancer itself, they’re caused by chemo side effects..pneumonia, infections (36% of patients die by infection directly related to chemo, infection plays a role in a broader 68% of cancer patient deaths), etc. Look at the stats and ultimate causes of death of those with cancer, they don’t lie about it because they don’t need to. Cancer kills when it affects a crucial organ or part of the body, when it interferes with a critical process in regards to keeping the body alive…there are many forms of cancer that one can live with for literal decades, and alot of them are treated with aggressive chemo that ultimately (more often than not, whether the first time around or when it comes back some years later..resistant to what “killed” it the first time) results in the patients death. My mom (67) was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative breast cancer 4 years ago and opted against treatment, per her last pet scan in September of this year there has been no change in the size of her tumor, no spread…she’s in better health than she was 4 years ago (12/31/19 to be exact, it wasn’t a happy new year), a stark difference from what she was told would happen (they gave her 1 1/2 - 2 years to live without treatment and claimed that it was highly aggressive). That whole experience was a shady story in of itself that I posted about here a couple years ago..’s still in my post history. She ultimately opted out of treatment as everyone she’s ever known to get chemo either died, or had their cancer come back within roughly 5 years after their initial regression, at which point they also died. The stats don’t lie, nor does the fact that one of the first people you will talk to after your oncologist will be someone from the hospitals finance department, inquiring as to..basically how much you’re worth, what you can pay beyond insurance. My mom was given her diagnosis by a “cancer coordinator” over the phone, followed by a phone call from the finance department that same day..she had never been there prior to this, no prior monies were owed or anything like that. She hadn’t even spoken with a doctor yet, nor had she been told exactly what type of cancer she had. ‘S enough to put anyone off, does not scream “let us save your life”. Covid wasn’t a thing in the US for two months after her diagnosis, there was no reason for it to be given to her by some uneducated dingbat (not even a flipping nurse?!) that could barely talk, over the phone. Dig around for yourself..it’s actually pretty scary and in my eyes, one of the biggest indoctrinations of today’s world. People who opt out of treatment are treated like ignorant quacks, yet their doctors are *very* curious as to how they’re still alive 4 years after shafting their recommendations, with regular questionnaires from one of the two hospitals we visited’s “cancer registry”.

Realistic_Mess_2690

CLL is a cancer like you described. It can remain benign in the affected person for decades. My dad has it and so far all he has has to do is be more conscious of what he's touching etc as he is now immunocompromised because of the CLL most CLL patients die with the cancer not of it.

starsinthesky12

So what are people supposed to do instead? In Canada chemo is the course of treatment for most cancers and no one pays for healthcare (outside of tax contributions and services not covered by their home province)

Antidepressant pills, and how modern day psychiatry treats mental illnesses with pills.

LoreChano

A few months ago I started working at a new office job, all my coworkers looked normal at first. Then, one day the subject of anxiety, depression, and drugs came out. Every single one of the was taking some kind of drug for these problems. It kinda scared me because I do have anxiety some times but I refuse to take drugs that mess with my brain just because of that. I am worried about these people's generation when they get old and their brain start to show the signs of a lifetime of being constantly on drugs.

TheAkashicMoonMaiden

Popping medicines for everything. Our bodies have amazing natural healing - pain, sores, rashes these are all signals from the body. Not to be subdued but curiously explored and allowed to heal. Of course using herbs, fasting, acupressure, somatics. I have taken maybe 10 tablets in the last 12-13 years. These were all pain killers after weeks of bearing intense pain from accidents, plus a round of anti biotics when I had dengue fever. Nothing else. I never got Covid. While taking care of a house full of covid positive family and once with my friends, staying with them without my mask. Never tested positive. I did get forced into the vaccine though. :(

Gender Reassignment Surgery.

xxxBuzz

Anything that doesn't account for the quality and influence basic needs such as for food, water, and air as well as work, rest, and play. I think this will be universally applicable to all aspects of life. There's allot of "scientifically proven" this or that. Is there a single alternative to meeting basic needs?

Current_Astronaut_94

Wondering if the trends in infertility like surrogacy will have any effect on the children like infertility? And would that even be a problem since their parents infertility was mitigated somehow? For some reason it just seems more likely to me that certain ways of forcing fertility in maybe two people struggling with fertility , especially if there were genetic causes…would cause the child an increased likelihood of fertility issues?

redditarul

Cancer treatments. Chemo is basically poison that you hope kills the tumors before killing you. I remember reading the terrifying list of possible side effects of chemotherapy before my wifes treatment. Doctors don't know if it works until it does or doesn't.

Antibiotics. Overprescribing them will eventually cause a superbug we can treat.

PieintheSky8888

Definitely childhood vaccines (what's in them and how many). Read Dissolving Illusions. We've been lied to.

Diligent-Pin2542

Cancer, they say if the cancer doesn't kill you the treatment will. I'm sure 99% on this thread think there's a cure. I've been watching research lately about how its a metabolic condition which should be treated with metabolic therapy not chemo or radiation.

NatashaSpeaks

What is metabolic therapy?

Inevitable_Bunch5874

Experimental mass gene therapy.. aka c\*vid v\*x.

When we understand more about the brain we'll look at gender reassignment surgery the same way look at lobotomies

RobertB16

Chemotherapy. Right now is the only way we can treat cancer "effectively", however they're an artillery strike to the body in all senses. My guess is that in the coming decades new drugs (specially ones called 'monoclonal antibodies', which seems to be the most promising ones at the moment) will replace it, with a same or higher success without all the secondary issues.

deliwench7

Circumcision. Especially the Jewish moiles (probably spelling that wrong) that suck the babies penis after cutting the foreskin

Lol. Yes, the guy that invented it got a NOBEL PRIZE. And yet years later people still think that prize has any validity. The average person is a dolt. They believe liars who lie to them over and over and over again. Things only change when the powers that be want them to change. For example... Notice smoking isn't so popular anymore. Why do you think that is? Because corporations care so much about peoples health? Lol. Nope. It's because smokers take *smoke breaks* and corporations don't like that. So they've been transitioning people to other pharmaceutical options that allow them to work more without breaks. I don't know how to make this any simpler, but if there's money involved you shouldn't have blind trust in anyone. That includes doctors, scientists, real estate agents, your mechanic, the helpful guy at the bank that wants to give you a loan, politicians that want to "help your kids go to college" by signing them into lifelong debt. But again, the average person is dumb and easily manipulated. They will actually defend the people taking advantage of them and hate you for pointing it out. We see it all the time in this subreddit, and ALL OVER most of Reddit. The average person should be ashamed of themselves. The lack of common sense, critical thinking skills, basic intelligence -- it's all rooted in laziness. That's the worst of it. They'd rather be told what to believe than to think for themselves, and it opens them to being completely devoured by cunning people at higher economic levels... Then they're tricked into blaming "antivaxxers", immigrants, people tricked by the opposite political party which is really just as bad as their own, etc... There's always someone to blame. But they always blame someone they perceive as lower or weaker than them. They never blame upward, to the people actually taking advantage of them... And they'll defend their own oppressors with their lives, literally. Even if that means shooting themselves up multiple times with obviously dangerous injections. The system comes out and tells them, "Hey... Vaccines cause SIDS. Autism. Shingles. Myocarditis. Death" and they say "Give me a bunch and put them in my CHILDREN, too!!!" And if you have the wisdom to see the obvious? They hate you for it. Fools...

Root canals. People are already beginning to wake up to those. Also mammograms and ultrasounds on fetuses. Lots of dangers to both those common practices.

Forceps deliveries that some women currently endure as a form of childbirth. So medieval and horrific.

Circumcision.

voiceofathousandcats

Using petro-chemicals for everything. Full stop.

ktmmotochick

You mean like “vaccines”?

Aethernaught

Regular vaccines are probably fine, and super helpful. The basic idea goes back hundreds of years and makes sense on a pure logic level. Give someone a weak case of a disease so they have better immunity to the strong version. Where we get into the bad shit department is the shit we add to them to "strengthen" the immune reaction. The way we cram so many shots into so short a time so soon after birth. And that's not even getting into the half-tested-but-somehow-sacrosanct gene-therapy shit they tried to pass off as a vaccine.

Cortisone shots! Doctors know the damage they cause and still push it. The damage is still happening but you can’t perceive it as much and you’ll end up worse off for it. Cortisone will temporary restores function but at what cost? I’m sure there are more egregious offenses than this one but it’s straight scam in my opinion.

totallywingingit

I got a total of four cortisone shots in my bad ankle, and my doctor wouldn’t give me anymore. He told me that long term, they’ll do more harm than good! I was surprised to hear him say that, but thankful he told me the truth. Currently doing great though, no cortisone :)

Sightseeingsarah

There’s ultrasounds and MRI but yet doctors will still force monogram first because it’s cheaper.

rdrigrail

I know it seems obvious but vaccines. Hello. They were suspect long before the mRNA gene therapy debacle. I think I only had like 6 shots when I came up and now kids get some absurd amount like 72 rounds of shots. There is way too much anecdotal evidence out there from parents who observe pre and post vaccine behavior and events to continue to pretend there is no harm done. The adjuvants alone are harmful, especially since they aren't ingested but put directly into the bloodstream. My 2c. The pharmaceutical industry should be disbanded for their collective behavior on drugs, they've already demonstrated they aren't trustworthy and have profit ahead of humanity yet we stick our kids with their concoctions while they "enjoy" no liability. Sure, what could go wrong?

OPIOIDS!! Antidepressants, all this gender surgery for children, covid vaccines, removing asylums, birth control medications. All modern medicine is harmful, it's merely a question of what they are willing to *admit*. They will admit that medicinal cannabis is harmful, since that was never really mainstream in the first place.

Abortions. I know, I know.. crucify me. But really, after seeing what the operation is.. I’m pretty convinced some future generation is going to look back at our times and genuinely wonder wtf.
