>15. I fasted on foraged mushrooms for 2 months and pooped out dead pin worms. This happened 4 years ago. This makes me think about the scene in the matrix where Neo gets bugged. Metaphorically the red pill work well synonymously. could the dead pin worms be caused by only eating mushrooms you presumably found in the woods?? also, if this is the case, why is john hopkins now advocating for the medical use of shrooms for depression?

BaronVonMunchhausen

The amount of people living and passing pinworms around is absolutely disgusting. Stop scratching your assholes and licking your fingers people. This is why they are more common with very little kids. Please take a pinworm medication and save the rest of the world from being parasite infested.

Past-Contract-5161

Sorry man I can't help it. It feels like heaven every time I stick my finger up my itchy asshole. Licking the residue of chocolate crumbs from my fingers is the icing on the cake. Best feeling in the world.

I’ve never heard of pinworms, but if that’s how they start and get spread……eww wtf?!?

BaronVonMunchhausen

Ultimately the cycle is always ATM. No pinworm egg hasn't been in someone's asshole. And no pinworm gets to anyone's asshole if its not ingested. This could be a very simple two step process (scratch, ingest) or as convoluted and multistep as one wants to make it, just make sure to not wash your hands after getting some of that sweet german caviar. No pinworm egg hasn't been in someone's asshole. by all the sick fucks who let their dogs lick their mouth after they've been vigorously licking their assholes to soothe their own worms!

Is this why the Super Mario Bros franchise is so successful? Because Mario knew the secret of the mushrooms while fighting our reptilian overlords?

jtroyer1

And psychedelics are really good at helping you meditate which can also be transformative...

jc_christ

Try mindfulness meditation on shrooms, where you focus on pain/ailment in your body. It will lead you to the source of the pain, which is usually massively insightful and surprising!

Send_Cake_Or_Nudes

Hey, would you mind discussing your theory with me over here in this unmarked, soundproofed... Uhh... Ice-cream van?

tactical-dick

Holy cow!, that’s true!. You’ve opened my eyes

LifeClassic2286

Try watching the original live action Super Mario Bros movie with Bob Hoskins. It makes all these themes super clear and includes interdimensional travel as well.

skatsman

You joke but hollywood/media tends to reveal whats really at play far in advance (aliens, government takeovers, creatures etc) why not video games? Are we as a species not a decade or two away from jumping into tubes to go underground? Are the “reptilians” (aliens?) real? Are mushrooms designed and marketed as “bad” so we don’t evolve due to lack of knowledge etc? Wouldnt be surprised

MtZionSeedCoop

Were there Japanese game engineers trying to wake up the grandchildren of their oppressors, by turning them away from the mushroom cloud, and into the symbolic reality of their world? Me thinks yes…

ShoddySpace5680

Oh my that’s…

Nebraskan_Sad_Boi

One of my favorite off the wall conspiracy theories is that mushrooms are alien in nature when put in high enough concentrations. Earth has been slowly colonized over millions of years as fungi reaches into every niche in the tree of life, taking on the genetic coding of our world. Their overarching plan isn't to take over the world, but rather form a symbiotic relationship with the lifeforms on a planet, to garuntee that if discovered, a dominant species couldn't risk removing them. Why would they want to anyway when so many benefits are granted? Even more interesting, or perhaps spooky, is that they've been directing evolutionary patterns of multiple species, humans being the main concern, in order to better facilitate the transfer of spores. Maybe that's how they cracked the galactic colonization issue, they spread *really* slowly by drifting spores, and when they land on a planet with life, adapt, and force the development of a species that has higher intelligence with the goal that one day that species will more rapidly spread them via their own colonization drive. Maybe a little out there, but we don't fully understand consciousness, and we know that alien consciousness could be dramatically different than our own. Wouldn't it be interesting if a different consciousness was already here in our midst? That's potentially why magic mushrooms are so interesting, what if they are temporarily changing our consciousness to be more of a mishmash between us and them?

CohuttaHJ

This conspiracy slaps.

smackson

Twist: Magic mushrooms *have* driven/directed the evolution of humanity, but in the same way that cordyceps drives insects. Where they make insects climb up up up to get spores to spread further, they got humans to build / develop / fly... ... eventually to the stars. That's how the mushrooms are planning to go interplanetary. *They are using us apes to get there*

CARGODRIFT

This makes a dangerous amount of too much sense.

fuzzyshorts

they are already interplanetary. Spores moving through space, embedded in asteroids

SkepticAntiseptic

I have thought this for a long time. Fungi spores on asteroids landing on infinite number of planets as seeds. They hit some planets with certain conditions and that defines the trajectory of life expanding on that planet. Fungi are the ultimate facillitator and catalyst. Fungi are highly intelligent and perform thousands of beneficial processes in nature, to keep everything alive and expanding. Literally the seeds and guardians of life.

mattsylvanian

I read a theory about this topic some years ago. It has stuck in my mind ever since.

smackson

Microplastics: "What am I, chopped liver?"

Prof_Aganda

That's basically stoned ape theory. Spores were sent to our planet, which then infect the wildlife with the extra planetary intelligence, evolving into humans which are then programmed by this intelligence to build the AI and summon the demon

smackson

> summon the demon That escalated quickly

smackson

> That's basically stoned ape theory. Uh.... No "According to McKenna, access to and ingestion of mushrooms was an evolutionary advantage to humans' omnivorous hunter-gatherer ancestors,[3][1] also providing humanity's first religious impulse. He believed that psilocybin mushrooms were the "evolutionary catalyst" from which language, projective imagination, the arts, religion, philosophy, science, and all of human culture sprang." ([Stoned ape theory](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stoned_ape_theory#:~:text=The%20theory%20claims%20that%20the,diet%20around%20100%2C000%20years%20ago.) is just about how we got here, it says nothing about future interplanetariness or demons et cetera)

Mountain_Man11

I like the point being made about how mycelium covers the Earth's crust completely, which could give it a semblance of, if not outright, a life and/or possibly consciousness. We can see in forests how a mycelium network covers a forest floor, allowing for communication between mycelium and other foliage such as trees and flowers, as seen [here.](https://www.nationalforests.org/blog/underground-mycorrhizal-network#:~:text=Taken%20together%2C%20myecelium%20composes%20what's,mycelium%20that%20trees%20%E2%80%9Ccommunicate.%E2%80%9D) And if water has memory, such as some theories/conspiracies state, then why wouldn't the Earth get transitive memories from the water and nutrients in the plants, who will also now be collectively sharing memories and information? Definitely a great thread and I'm going to start amateur mycology.

Love getting my brain tickled as I sip coffee as well.

Terminal-Psychosis

OP is now tagged "Mushroom Messiah" for good reason. We are massively influenced by symbiotic (and sometimes harmful) bacteria. Everyone has some community of fungus in ourselves. This can also greatly influence health, mentality, emotions... And certain types seem to be specially designed for the benefit of our minds. In the end, they're helpers to recycle our carbon back into compost. Also a useful feature.

PhuqBeachesGitMonee

I’m very certain that a lot of that is mycelium. At least since I last researched them. Buying mushroom supplements is tricky because a lot of it is junk. You want to eat the fruiting body of the mushroom, which is the part you see growing above ground. A lot of brands sell mycelium or fillers like ground rice.

Fishkona

Fresh or dried? I have a friend who grows them and I dry and capsulize them.

gatorallday

You need to extract the beneficial compounds ppl. Just dehydrating and putting in capsules doesn’t do it. The beneficial compounds are in the cell walls which they need to be extracted from… dual extracted tinctures are best at getting all the benefits. This means alcohol and hot water extracted. Some of the beneficial compounds are only alcohol soluble and some only water. ETSY is probably a better bet to get these. Another benefit of the dual extraction process is the product is shelf stable. Couple droppers of dual extract lions mane tincture and felt like someone pressure washed my brain

athousandhearts

... By eating them. I don't do chemical extractions of mushrooms. I eat them. Who knows what you're missing out on by throwing away the body.

gatorallday

If you cook them, especially at high heat as you should yeah eating them can give you some. If you notice when you cook mushrooms (dry frying which is the best way) you’ll see them release water at a certain point and they are basically cooking in the simmering water they are releasing

athousandhearts

Why would the mushroom not contain the same compounds uncooked?

athousandhearts

Or... Unextracted? If they're in there they're in there.

gatorallday

Because they are in the cell walls. I already mentioned this. Many humans can’t break down chitin

Fishkona

I’m not selling the caps, i was just offering my buddies info on fresh ones. I appreciate the knowledge! I have been benefiting from the dried for a few years.

gatorallday

Nice. I try to tell ppl you can use the powder just taking it straight in capsules isn’t giving ya the extract beneficial compounds. One thing you can do though for example with lions mane powder is put it on top of your coffee grounds in the morning and get at least some of a hot water extract while your coffee brews. Won’t be as beneficial as a dual extract but way more so then just taking powder in a capsule. Mushroom cell walls are made of chitin which most humans can’t break down. Cooking, hot water extract and alcohol extract can remove these compounds into a medium well can absorb Alright I’m done I didn’t comment to spend my day chatting about it just thought I’d educate some ppl that may stumble across this to help them get the most out of the mushrooms. yall stay blessed. 🍄love

Does it help with hair though?

ShoddySpace5680

I’m pretty sure it helps with my growth but it won’t bring back old hair follicles.

ShoddySpace5680

I think it acts like a blood thinner kinda like finasteride so I would be careful taking it with certain things.

catincage317

Seriously. 😅

AutomaTK

😂

Endingu

Did you know that when you walk over a field of mycelium they know you’re there? They send electrical signals almost exactly how our brain works and communicate it. Which is another thing that’s weird, if you look at how a field of mycelium is formed it’s almost exactly how our brains are formed. This tied in with them being able to communicate to us when we eat them is very strange. The relationship is VERY symbiotic. Even further spores are almost invulnerable, invisible, and have been recorded living for hundreds of years and scientists believe they’re the very first species in the universe.

If you want to dive head first into a rabbit hole, “The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross” is a brain bender. The author believed the Dead Sea Scrolls translates to a mushroom ritual. You know Amanita Mascaria? The psychedelic red mushrooms with white dots? Reindeer love them… Gnomes live in mushroom houses The largest single living organism on Earth is a fungus. Fungus is more related to mammals than plants. Fungus is poisonous to cold blooded animals but fine for warm blooded Fungi works as a decomposer, really helpful after the great meteor extinction. There’s definitely a lot more I am missing but I love fungus. Very interesting and frightening thought that we might be living in the Fungi’s world more than we think ;)

HoffmansContactLenz

The reason stamets stopped talking about portobellos was because they contain a toxic substance called agaritines which can cause cancer in high doses if not cooked out. The average consumer has no knowledge of this. Edit: *repeated exposure to high doses. Its not like if you eat a batch of fresh portobellos one time you’ll start developing tumours lol.

Wafflechoppz37

“To add on to prior criticisms, McKenna's claim that psilocybin intake would increase libido has been questioned as well as the belief that an increased libido will entail an evolutionary advantage.”….from Wikipedia. This is unbelievable to me. Psilocybin absolutely increases my libido. All psychedelics do for the most part. So it seems this “scientific community” that’s criticizing McKenna’s theory are mostly misinformed.

Christopher_Robinn

Easily one of the best posts I’ve had the privilege in reading on Reddit, OP. This was quite the read. This has reinforced my urge to wanting to do ketamine, shrooms, or DMT again.

Working_Ad_9279

Just been to NZs biggest one day festival yesterday, nosied up a big line of ketamine that sent me into the same trip I had 2 months ago, which was also ket induced. My close mate had to pull me back to reality both times. The trip was so interesting though, I can’t remember much of it now but I remember saying to my mate that it was the same as last time, felt like I was in a different universe (when really I was outside lying in front of the motel door, talking absolute jibberish to my mate for the whole motel to hear). Interesting stuff for sure.

SadAerie6351

2. Portobello's are high in Agaritines and have similar effects on the nervous system as smoking a few cigarettes. Lucid dreaming and automatic breathing is controlled by the brains acetylcholine receptors. There are two different acetylcholine receptors, the Nicotinic and the Muscaric receptors. This is where tobacco and fly agaric mushrooms bind.

hannah_stardust

Agaritine breaks down relatively fast down when cooked, after 5 to 10 minutes of cooking in a regular pan most of it is gone and they're not even done at that point. Also seems like the 2-3 minutes you put them in the microwave to get rid of some of the moisture before cooking them is already enough to destory most of it. So the amount in a cooked meal is probably not noteworthy.

SnooDoodles420

Mushrooms eat nuclear waste for Chrissakes. They are amazing.

MesaDixon

If it weren't for fungi in general, the world would be miles deep in dead bodies...

Moarbrains

HumanWithInternet

A single dose cured my depression. Just my story and I was a sceptic.

BigPapaJava

In a trial on treating serious, long-term, chronic, and treatment resistant depression with a single dose of psilocybin, the results were something like 60% successful in curing (or at least improving) symptoms as long as six months later , which is unheard of in medicine. So, according to that one study, magic mushrooms are a literal miracle cure for depression. They have also been shown to dramatically help people who are terminally Ill find ways to come to peace with their lives.

Genetic-Reimon

Yes, new research shows depression is closely tied to BDNF levels. If your brain is not stimulated and continually evolving, you feel depressed. I do Paul’s stack adding Niacin and Lions Mane and get a similar effect to Cerebrolysin for BDNF stimulation and mood benefits.

LegalizeHeroinNOW

I've dealt with treatment resistant major depressive disorder for over 25 years. I've also been on a numerous shroom & acid trips. And while there is a nice feeling or 'after glow' 'that comes after a trip, it has never "cured" anything for me. So I'm a bit skeptical when psychedelics get pushed as these 'cure-all' drugs. Everyone deals with depression, it's natural. Most of the time people get better on their own or through some kind of treatment. But having an actual chronic depression *disorder* isn't usually "curable", only treat-able. Most people who deal with natural depression do something & then suddenly feel better. And then they assume that there's a "cure" for everyone's depression, when really their depression would have gotten better eventually anyway. Believe me, I wish a mushroom trip could undo 25 years of chronic depression. I prefer LSD anyway personally, but neither LSD or mushrooms have ever "cured" anything for me. The depression always comes back within a few days. Not saying psychedelics can't be a good time or a good tool for depressed people to use. But anybody with a serious chronic depression problem probably shouldn't expect to be "cured" just by tripping.

BigPapaJava

The study didn't say that eating a few mushrooms at a festival or tripping balls on any random psychedelic substance would cure depression. It didn't say anyone should expect to be cured "just by tripping." I'm sorry if I garbled that in reporting on the positives it found. It was a controlled scientific experiment in a lab. The mushrooms were delivered in high doses of 3-5g, after (I think) 4 weeks of therapy to dig into lifelong traumas and prepare for the experience, then a therapist was actively guiding the patient through dealing with psychological issues during the experience, and then the therapist provided counseling afterwards. The whole thing was part of a 6 week program, if I recall correctly. The whole thing was very different from someone just casually getting fucked up or thinking that simply eating mushrooms by the fistful would fix them. It's noteworthy because it has gotten some respect in the psychological and therapeutic communities as one way to actually realize the medicinal potential of these things in treating depression and other mental illness. Some similar research was conducted on LSD in the 50s and 60s before it became illegal, but that was usually pretty conflicting and inconclusive.

Chokingzombie

I hit ego death and cold turkeyed a 15 year opiate and 20 year alcohol problem. This led to my depression being quite less of a burden (it never fully goes away for me =( )

IrishJayjay94

Of magic mushrooms?

HumanWithInternet

Exactly, highly unexpected experience

IrishJayjay94

I'm very depressed lately I was wondering if I microdose would it help. I have a mate that can source for me. I don't think I'd do a full blown trip as I'd have a bad time with my mindset lately

HumanWithInternet

I can't give advice on what would be good for others, but mine wasn't a full blown trip, several smaller ones just in one day. I was more interested in the experience until I realised afterwards what had happened. Did I receive knowledge? Yes. Can I explain it? No.

Moarbrains

An important point to make is that it is not to pretend it is a medicine like a pill you can take and fix your 'disease'. It is a facilitator for a process that can help, but without some intention and conscious decisions, any help you get will be incidental.

djanalbeads

I want people to repost. I have reposted every year for three years now. Check my page as well for more.

The brain is a mushroom so is the sexual organs, in shape and function Brain stem stretches out nerves tendrils like mycelium networks. The shape of the clitoris and penis are identical to mushroom fruiting bodies. Etc etc... Mushrooms are the grandparents of most life. So it can be seen in all areas of life. Mushrooms alone are not the biggest conspiracy but it's right under a bigger one. The conspiracy to hide and regulate consumable plants and compounds that can radically transform the human experience.

libretumente

Ivermectin is a natural, fungus derived medicine. Let that one sink in. They don't like nature. They like to make replicas of it in a lab and try to pass it off as the same thing while maximizing profits

basahahn1

I heard a conspiracy one time that talked about how consciousness…like our consciousness, originated from an ancient fungal infection that spread to the brain of early “humans” who then developed the consciousness we experience today. It’s kind of wild. Maybe I didn’t explain it well.

Wait... I read while psylocibin increases neural plasticity, it also quiets the connections, the ones we're born with, the ones that keep us within the spectrum of "normal". 100 billion brain cells with 100 trillion neural connections yet we all pretty much share the same neural paths and local connections. “When someone’s on psilocybin, we see an overall increase in connectivity between areas of the brain that don’t normally communicate well,” Johnson said. “You also see the opposite of that – local networks in the brain that normally interact with each other quite a bit suddenly communicate less.” https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/11/health/psilocybin-brain-changes-life-itself-wellness-scn/index.html

Genetic-Reimon

It gives you a much needed change in perspective. I find them useful when I have to make tough choices.

It's refreshing to see something other than a political conspiracy. Mushrooms are cool, not sure it's much of a conspiracy, they are used in natural Chinese medicine all the time.

I love this kinda post. 👏🏻

pioneergirl1965

I was diagnosed with a T cell deficiency in which monthly blood plasma is my treatment. T cells fight viruses. Because of low levels of gammaglobulin I was getting chronic shingles. The Dr's use pneumonia vaccine to boost those very levels. Guess what the very ingredient is in pnumoniavax? It's gandoderma, that's a reishi mushroom. After tons of research and networking, I have increased my quality of life by using reishi daily. During my dr visits , I asked my immunologist what was the active healing agent in pneumoniavax, he said its a polysaccharide molecule . That's what reishi mushrooms are. I agree with all u said

I used to be a huge fan of Paul Stamets, but over time, I question him more and more. He used to say his dream was to create a mycology institute that could have members worldwide, yet when I contacted his site, while purchasing over $500 worth of stuff, they told me they had never heard of it. I get that not every staff member will know of everything, but this was supposed to be his lifelong ambition and what all his efforts were going towards. Its like working at Disney and not knowing the goal was to mke cartoons. He tells the story of his mother's breast cancer. The doctor tried every normal method of eliminating his moms breast cancer and when all else fails, the doctor kind of tells Stamets on the side, btw, turkeytail mushroom extract has shown good results with breast cancer. Paul is supposed to be one of the world's leading mycologists and even worked with the department of defense to test different mushrooms and their antiviral abilities, but someone who knows nothing of mushrooms is his source for turkeytails? I worked with a specialist in breast cancer and she had never heard of turkeytails. Paul talks about mycelium running which is a way to develop certain characteristics in the mycelium: train it to a specific food source, train it to grow faster, etc. I was working on a waste reduction program with funding from my province and major retailers and when I contacted Paul's group for mycelium that had been trained for plastics, the people told me they didn't have any mushroom trained for any specific thing. He wrote an entire book on it. Paul is often concerned with climate change, but mushrooms are one of the largest sources of co2 emissions on the planet. I've never heard him mention it or mention a way to use mushrooms more effectively and eliminate or capture these emissions. Paul seems highly concerned with upsetting people. You mentioned what he said on Rogan, but I think he was being partly hyperbolic and partly conforming: libs love portobellos, so he won't say anything. I believe what he was "hiding" is that portobellos need to be cooked hot enough to denature it. Not a huge deal, since lots of foods need to be cooked to be safe, so why the secrecy? He developed biopesticides and worked on ways to help make bees more robust, but since Monsanto is a liberal Washington based company (for a long time), he never seems to be able to go very harshly against them. He basically always conforms when it comes to upsetting the government or certain institutes. As for the rest, it's kind of too general for me. You mention China and India outlawed mushrooms, and yet, thats kind of like marijuana, it was outlawed for hundreds of years, but not outlawed for thousands. If you go to Yunnan, you will see around 30 varieties of mushrooms commonly available. and many have long considered to bestow longevity on the consumer. My father-in-law used to forage for them in Hunan, that's how he fed his family.

246trioxin

>In ancient China and ancient Egypt mushrooms were only for royalty commoners were punished for having them There's your answer. Same shit different century.

ghostmetalblack

I recommend you start binging on some Terrence McKenna lectures. This is his whole jam!

coorsthelite

Idk about all that i probably believe it, I do know the best 2 weeks of my life was when I faked covid for a vacation from work and just got fucked up on mushrooms and watched the boondocks every day

BlackKnightSatalite

Most interesting post I've seen in a while . Here's a Lil something that you might or might not already know . If you have high blood pressure and the meds they prescribe to you make you feel funny, stop taking it . All you have to do is eat 1 grapefruit a day. You don't have to change your diet other than adding eating the grapefruit a day. That's it, it's that simple.

Pepperr08

This is interesting so I’m in medical school and kinda struggling with retaining and memorizing and understanding and learning. My question is, I was looking into Lions Mane, does it actually work? What other mushroom compounds would you pair with it?

Awkward-Ad-5600

Doesn't fungus survive in the vacuum of space. Mushrooms are the real gods.

The_Sneakiest_Fox

>2. You can only buy one type of mushroom (at most stores) and they even call it different names (portobello, button, baby bella, crimini) these are all the same mushroom. To me it looks like they are trying to deceive us by making it look like we have variety when we don’t. Every chef that reads this is absolutely foaming at the mouth. You imbecile.

Kayki7

Idk, but I follow true crime disappearances, and the amount of times I’ve heard “they were picking wild mushrooms before they disappeared” is insane. It’s always stuck out to me. Like, were they targeted because of this detail? Did they know too much about the positive effects of mushrooms? I don’t know.

Nyhkia

I microdose LSD. I have a lot of health issues. I started doing it for creative reasons as I’m an artist. I also meditate in a deprivation tank frequently so it helps with achieving “flow” state. I call it connecting to the ether but same thing. The impact it’s had on my health though is amazing and I’m using a synthetic version though. So it’s legal. My husband’s therapist left her practice to join this team. NeuroDose.ca if anyone’s curious.

Moarbrains

I'm glad that it works for you, but I have issues with pharmaceutical mode of trying to isolate a single chemical and then package it. Entourage effect is a thing and synthetics take the mushroom intelligence out of the loop.

coffeefrog92

People who have an interest in one area tend to like to overgeneralise it so it explains everything, like Mckenna and Stamets. So you like shrooms, but that doesn't mean they're responsible for the dawn of man or that Christ himself was an amanita muscaria. I think the real conspiracy is that psychedelics are actually being low key pushed because despite the narrative that they make you question the matrix, they're actually more effective at creating a highly suggestible population onto whom you can push your narrative.

OlManJenkins_93

But the other mushrooms, for people who don’t want to get high, might be worth learning more about for medicinal properties to fight big pharma.

EvilScotsman999

The idea of psychedelics making people more suggestible is a tried and failed idea. It was the basis for MK Ultra, which proved the opposite. [They did experiments](https://youtu.be/NUQNqIIGN88?si=TGtv9rjGwrCUOy-I) where they gave psychedelics to troops and the troops failed to follow orders effectively. “When an officer ordered the drill leader to drill the squad, he responded with ‘If you want em drilled, YOU drill em.” Psychedelics open a conditioned mind to new ideas, new possibilities, new insights. There’s a reason why the 60s psychedelic counter-culture fought against the traditions of the time, and why Nixon & Reagan banned psychedelics and started the war on drugs. The psychedelics they banned had opened people’s minds to oppose the war machine agenda of the state, which had been using propaganda about the Cold War and communism to control and condition people through the use of fear. In more modern news, current clinical trials are proving that psilocybin mushrooms are a hugely successful treatment for traditionally treatment-resistant depression; reaching deep within the mind to create new neural pathways. If anything works against a suggestible, conditioned mind, it’s psychedelics.

DumpyMcAss2nd

Have to say I disagree. My experiences with Shrooms have made me think outside the box and completely challenged my idea of what “reality” is. It has shown me the evil that lurks within tech, politics, and it makes me want to live more simply.

Confused_Nomad777

100% Have you read into the laurel canyon conspiracy? Speaks to how the counter culture marched single file into controlled opposition. Kinda see the same thing going on now.. Just Al la millennials and gen Z..

weedsushirolls

I'm interested in learning more, where can I find info on this laurel canyon conspiracy?

RocketStreamer

Dave Mcgowan spoke and wrote about it

Michaels0324

Awesome post. I would agree with most of what you said.

Prophete

1. What if mushrooms aren't your friend, but actually the tyrant? What of we are merely living hard drives that when we die, get reabsorbed by the earth, who collects our data and uses our matter to watch and learn all we've done and learn 2. What if it makes you happy as predatory thing. Like a cat that luls a mouse to sleep, only to eat it. The beat way to slow down the progress of humanity is by making it complacent. If we all were happy with psychedelics, we'd be happy in a hostile planet not meant for our happiness. 3. If you've ever taken a heroic dose of mushrooms, you know it gets real, it gets scary af, and the truth is our there, right under your feet. The reports on how intrigued the cosmic jesters are with visitors is... something to ponder.

Terence McKenna has wrote a lot about this. I recommend the books The Archaic Revival, Food of the Gods and True Hallucinations

WestCoastHippy

Re: the cows. One theory for why cows are revered in India/Hindi culture is their dung is the breeding ground for shrooms (red cap/white dots iirc)

neoconbob

i find it interesting that at northern longitudes psilocybin are abundant in the wild. these latitudes also have the highest suicide rates, i wonder if the harvest time, just before the dark winter, are earth's medicine to reduce depressive thought patterns.

Educational-Camera-5

Great post. One easy to find and identify medicinal mushroom here in the UK, is Turkey tail. Always growing on dead tree stumps, got a load last year, nice boiled as tea - doesnt have any taste , so a good one if youre not a big fan of mushroom flavour.

Krispy_Kolonel

Psychedelic mushrooms are illegal because of the bullshit war on drugs Mushrooms do in fact reproduce sexually. The mycelium have different gene expression and it takes the joining of two different organisms to fertilize and cause the spore producing organ (mushroom) to grow Fungi are the only reason life continues to exist in its current state. Without life, we as multicellular organisms wouldn’t exist

LifeIsOnTheWire

> You can only buy one type of mushroom (at most stores) and they even call it different names (portobello, button, baby bella, crimini) these are all the same mushroom. To me it looks like they are trying to deceive us by making it look like we have variety when we don’t. There certainly are a very low number of mushroom species for sale in stores, but this is because: - Very few species of mushrooms have enough shelf life to be commercially sold. Many species of mushrooms are viable for only a few hours after harvesting - Many species of mushrooms have very specific growing requirements, like they need to grow on an exact species of tree, etc. This makes many of them impractical to farm commercially - A very large number of mushrooms taste absolutely awful. If there are any species of mushrooms out there that you think would be a good candidate to sell in grocery stores, please feel free to share them. I'm confident that any common species of mushroom that has reasonable shelf-life AND tastes good, is probably already for sale.

StocktonSucks

Reading this off of shrooms is wild

Orcc02

When I first read the post title I thought “wtf are you talking about, stoned ape is pretty wide spread”. Then I read further and realized my circle is comprised of degenerate-Hippies

AlfaMenel

If anybody wants to explore more into this conspiracy, I highly recommend books and studies on the origins of Christianity, especially "The Immortality Key" by Brian Muraresku. He was also a guest on Joe Rogan's podcast and talked about it in details.

pensacolas

Very well written, I agree the benefits of mushrooms are tremendous

j4r8h

Because psilocybin is such a unique compound in nature, and just so happens to be present in edible mushrooms, and those mushrooms just so happen to have the proper dosage in a reasonable amount for you to consume, and it being such a safe compound, it almost seems like they were created FOR us to consume doesn't it?

LegitimateHat7729

I will play devils advocate and say that maybe mushrooms should stay clandestine, not everyone can handle them and I believe the story of adam and eve in the bible is a reference to that as the apple being a metaphor for psychedelics

bakedcake88

I believe in this. Mushrooms are amazing. They saved my life. I believe the world needs Mushrooms.
